I had to look around to even find the dressing room. When I finally checked out the associate put up a finger asking me to wait while she finished her milk shake. When she asked if I found everything. I told her that I was disappointed and asked if I could talk to the manager. They obviously do not pay attention to any of their surroundings and it baffles me. Walked in and was not even greeted, it's fine with me here. Disappointing Experience -- Staff Conduct Reflects Poorly on a Worthy Cause…read more I want to start by saying that I genuinely support the mission behind Discovery Hospice and have visited this thrift store with that in mind. That's exactly why my most recent experience was so disheartening. While shopping, I came across an item I was interested in purchasing, only to find it had already been set aside in a pile of other merchandise -- reserved by an employee for herself to buy while she was actively working her shift. Customers come to this store to support hospice care, and it's unfair for staff to have first pick of inventory during store hours, pulling items before shoppers even have a chance to see them. The situation worsened while I was waiting in line. The customer ahead of me had spent a considerable amount of money and was interested in an item kept behind the counter. She was given permission by staff to step behind the counter to photograph it and send the image to someone she was considering buying it for. Rather than honoring that graciously, the same employee who had been setting merchandise aside for her own purchase made a comment insinuating that this customer -- who had just made a generous purchase supporting hospice care -- might be there to steal. It was uncalled for, disrespectful, and uncomfortable to witness. To top it off, when I brought my own item to the register, it was clearly marked with a yellow sale sticker, yet the cashier attempted to charge me full price. I had to point it out myself to get it corrected. This store exists to support a deeply important cause, and the community deserves to shop here with confidence that they are being treated with honesty and respect. I hope management addresses these concerns seriously, because the conduct I witnessed that day does not reflect the values that Discovery Hospice stands for. There was a family with a daughter trying on dresses, so we assumed like every other dress shop we would need an appointment. The two women working there were so kind and attentive to us. They welcomed us in and made the experience very fun! They have a great selection of dresses and catalogs to help order other colors if needed . We ended up ordering one in a color the store did not stock in her size . Estimated delivery time is about a week . My daughter's favorite part was that they write down the name of your school and event so they will not sell the same dress to another girl at the same event . It was busy with girls coming in , but they all had opportunity to stand on the platform and twirl and get all the angles. So happy we found this store! We will definitely be back . Oh, and they offer to pay a deposit , then the rest at pick up, and even offer layaway if someone needed/wanted to . Great affordable dresses to allow every girl to be a princess!
