Nice ambience and staff all speak English and are good at suggesting dishes to try! Beware portions are large - even by American standards!! My partner and I got 2 apps and a main to share and could not finish. We got the hand cheese music(?), beef sausage salad and a mushroom schnitzel. The schnitzel was by far the star of the show (as we should have expected)! The cheese is famous so we had to try it but sheep's cheese is a bit too strong for me and it had a harder texture than I prefer. My partner liked it though so I'd recommend giving it a shot if you're adventurous!! We also got their homemade lemonade which was a fizzy raspberry lemonade. Pretty good as well but wish I had tried one of their ciders!

They're trying to stick to the monastery beer vibe but it doesn't hit the mark in that regard. The old place was cozy and old and felt authentic, this place is new, loud and generic. Maybe it's not so bad and I'm sore because I miss the old place but it just doesn't feel the same. Service was good, food was good, beer cold but it still feels like every other place out there. Probably won't be back, unfortunately. If you like well lit, upscale, generic restaurants try this one out. The food is good but the ambience is off.

It is run by a husband and wife team and despite the restaurant being super busy (full of locals), service was still speedy! You can tell a lot of local airline crew members eat here on their overnights because they have one full wall covered in airline stickers. That must mean it's GOOD. On to the food! I ordered a cup of their goulash soup and it was SO flavorful. For my entree I ordered the pork schnitzel that came with the yummiest sautéed potatoes and onions. I will absolutely be dreaming about this schnitzel for days to come. I loved the fresh lemon to squeeze on top and the green sauce that they serve on the side is amazing. It is almost like a tartar sauce with lots of herbs. My husband ordered their split pea soup and goulash dinner that came with boiled potatoes, both were also superb! We split a side of their red cabbage as well. A must!! This dinner alone was worth the 24 hour last minute stay in Frankfurt!! Yum!!! I love German food!

We had the light house beer (Helles), brewed on the spot. For dinner, we split the Frankfurter Platter, which offers an excellent representation of German cuisine, and comes with the delicious Frankfurt sauce. The sauce is a local delicacy and is a must with German food. The dish was loaded down with three types of sausage, eggs, roasted potatoes, sauerkraut, a pork knuckle, and about four schnitzels. I highly recommend getting this to share. It is diverse, and very filling. The atmosphere here is cozy, and their patio is a great summer hangout. Our server was very friendly and on the spot. This is a must-try if you are ever in Frankfurt and super hungry!
