They have a menu that has a wide variety of caffeinated and not caffeinated drinks! The girl was SO NICE! Thanks to her bubbly personality we will for sure be coming back to this place on our way back from our trip. I got the Hunnypot Latte and YUM! It's not overly sweet or artificial syrup tasting, which makes it so smooth and creamy to drink. You know how you can look at the coffee and know if it's going to taste good or not? This has that nice golden color to it and I instantly knew I was going to love it. It has the perfect subtle taste of honey. It's PERFECT. My partner got the cold brew and was pretty impressed with it! He opted for no milk and to drink it black. It tastes a bit sweet, which I think means it's a dark roast? Don't quote me on that though. We poured a bit of my drink into his to even it out. They have those nice sip lids too, which I appreciate. The sweet woman gave us a mini little cup of 2 chocolate covered espresso beans too! (Anyone remember Winston the bull?) Before any of the Staley restaurants were opened in the Winston-Salem area, the Staley brothers (Wayne & Lawrence) operated the cafe in Roaring River. (enough history, what about the food....) Today's special was Country style steak, which was very tender, and tasted good. Mashed potatoes and pintos, with a huge piece of cornbread was a very good choice. Ice tea tasted just right. Cheeseburger was definitely not a frozen, pre-formed patty. It was thick, and hand-patted, and is a top seller, according to the waitress, and I understand why it is. Talked to the owner, and she said the daily special changes, and is never the same.

The barista was super nice and when I ordered my chai tea latte he suggested I try the extra spice. I'm so glad I did. It was honestly the best chai tea latte I've ever had. It was even better than the one I make at home and I didn't believe that was possible. There is a lot of good seating with a few books and games available for the children. There is only one restroom which is gender neutral. I was impressed with how clean it was with a changing table, baby wipes, feminine hygiene products provided as a complimentary service. Hand soap and hand lotion is also provided. Best of all, NO stinky bathroom smells. We look forward to coming back again.

A Southern Gem Worth the Stop Every Time!…read more I first discovered Central Café about three years ago during the Ground Steak Festival in Dobson. I had never even heard of a ground steak sandwich before, but they had a booth at the festival, and I decided to give it a try. Let me just say--it was absolutely delicious! That fresh sliced tomato on top really took it to the next level. Since then, I make it a point to stop in whenever I'm back in town (I live out of state), and I've probably visited five times over the last few years. Each time, I've been met with warm, friendly service and that classic southern hospitality. The food is always fresh, comforting, and full of flavor. Beyond the ground steak sandwich, I've also tried their hot dogs and onion rings--both excellent. It's a great southern-style restaurant that keeps me coming back whenever I'm in the area. Central Café is a local gem and a must-try if you're passing through Dobson!
