If you want quality tattoos by quality people, this is your place! I've now worked with Crow on two half sleeves, a tattoo on my forearm, and a hand poke on my leg for well over 40 hours of work and have enjoyed every bit of each experience. Talis is a professional shop with top quality equipment and is very clean. Crow's art, especially her hand poke, is second to none. Since my first appointment, I've given her basic concepts and ideas of what I've wanted, and I've never been disappointed in her work. I have to finish the hand poke on my leg, and will do that soon. But I will be coming back here for years to come to keep fulfilling my need for more tattoos. read more

Tried to book with "Crow". Extremely rude and just straight disrespectful. Made an appointment with her then she tells me she doesn't have anything available anymore? Also told me she would rather pass on doing a design that she literally has in her portfolio just because the reference didn't have an "outline". Don't book here. I met with Jason to go over an piece on my leg. Was asked to send my photo and I did right away so he could draw the piece. I never heard from him and and tried to reach out multiple times during the week as this guy is hard to get a hold of (email only to which he admitted he hates). In the mist of my excitement and day before my appt he claims he never got them and was rude/prick and it was clear to me he could care less. I don't find him to be genuine I think the personality is a bit fake for money. Tried to get my deposit back and is/has been ignoring me. No surprise he is hard to get ahold of!! Ego centric and a thief. There are other shops in town that do just as good work from people who are passionate. Jennifer billing at Four star and Guido at Lost cowboy are excellent! Yep, I went back! As soon as I heard I'd be in Santa Fe, I reached out to Crow about an idea I had and she had space exactly when I'd be in town! Yay! I love the space, and my second trip to Talis Fortuna was even better than the first. The design she created was beyond perfect, and I sort of welled up with tears, it was so special. I was getting my shin done so it was a bit ouch but not bad and her experienced artistry and hand makes it a fun time. I love Crow and will be back and back and back!!! Go here!! read more

First of all, everyone that works here welcomes you as soon as you walk in and is super sweet. They are very helpful through the design process of showing you what will work and what won't. Their judgement as established tattoo artists is and should be trusted 100% because they are guaranteed to bust something out that is badass and will look great on you. Max Ireland did a rad piece on my forearm and it was jam-packed with color and umph. I could tell he put a lot into the design and the actual tattoo, making it personal for not only me but Max as well because we both fell in love with it even more once it was done. First off, I do not write reviews, but I am so amazed and pleased with my experience that I must write one for Talis Fortuna. Like many, I have been toying with the idea of getting a tattoo for years. I already had one, but it was so small not to mention almost two decades old, so I did not know really what to expect. I approached Jason with a vague idea of a tattoo, a couple of pictures of tattoos that I liked, and one photo that I did not like. The conversation was extremely casual and laid back, I felt zero pressure. A few days later I met up with Jason to look at the artwork, I was stunned and absolutely amazed. The design was above and beyond what I had envisioned. After picking my jaw up, and a few moments of being speechless, I sheepishly asked to change a couple of things. Jason took my suggestions, then turned them into an amazing piece. A few days my second tattoo, from my neck to the back of my knees, started to come to life. Yes, my second tattoo was to cover almost a quarter of my body. I will admit that it was daunting to trust someone with tattooing my entire backside, but after seeing the beauty of the final artwork, there were zero questions in my mind. The entire experience of getting tattooed at Talis Fortuna was wonderful. The shop was extremely clean, bright, charming, and calming. Both Crow and Jason are extremely talented, professional, and patient, making me feel at home from the beginning. They both answered all of my questions throughout the many hours I spent in the shop. I scheduled a tattoo with Emma and paid the $100 beforehand, only to arrive and be told I couldn't get a tattoo because I was seventeen. In New Mexico it is completely legal to get a tattoo with your parent's permission under 17. Their reasoning for this was because those are the tattoo laws in California, which is completely baffling. After explaining this, they flat-out refused to give me a refund. read more

Jason was amazing to work with and Crow was super patient with me setting up our appointment online and paying deposit with paypal. My wife and I don't have a lot of tattoos but they didn't make us feel intimidated or embarrassed at all. That being said, we know a professional when we see one and these guys are just that.
