I kept reiterating that I did not want her to cut off length. Not only did she inches off my hair, the hair cut is really choppy and not blended well at all. I lost years of growth. A year ago or so the owner sent an email and embedded in the email was a disclosure clients would be paying for product (hair dye, etc). Eyeful is also an eco salon, wonderful, but clients pay a fee for that as well. A small color service cost me nearly $60 in product and nearly a $10 "eco" fee. They are constantly raising prices and promoting stylists to charge more. In 18 months it's been over a 50% increase for the same services between periodic service increases, stylist promotions creating another service increase and the product/eco fee which is quite substantial. I understand life is hard right now, but I don't know anyone whose salary has increased significantly, and with the state of the world most of us are fearful we won't have a job in the not so distant future. I'm going to have to take my business elsewhere. Luckily there are several salons in the area that will provide the same service for half the price and do not place the cost of product and sustainability on the clients. As a Lowell resident I want to support local, but when local is so out of touch with pricing compared to every other salon in a 5mi radius, I have no choice. I know eyeful provides a range of stylists to fit your "budget" but there are skilled stylists in area salons still coming in well below eyefuls price point that I don't have to sacrifice experience for a lower price. This was truly a sad review to write.

Maryom has just re-opened after the COVID quarantine and I was impressed and reassured by the…read moresafety precautions she is taking to minimize the chance of infection. I wanted to have my hair cut--she is my regular hairdresser and I always like what she does with my hair--and I was a little apprehensive about going to a hair dresser. She keeps the place very clean and she herself wears disposable plastic gloves, face mask, and eye protectors. Nothing is coming out of her! I came in with my facemask on and she took my temperature (forehead meter), then I put on a clean glove of my own to hold my face mask to my face when the ear loops had to be unlooped to cut around my ears. For extra protection there was the disposable one-use plastic sheeting she put on me. I immediately held the clean plastic sheeting to my mask, which meant I had double protection of sheeting and mask for my mouth and nose. In the end, I received an excellent, reasonably priced haircut (as usual from Maryom), and I felt as protected as one could possibly be under the present circumstances. I give Maryom my highest recommendation. She puts safety first. Only one customer at a time is allowed in; a second person is allowed if that person is part of the same family.
