Absolutely delicious. We enjoyed a lovely relaxing evening for our 42nd wedding Anniversary. We ordered cocktails and Calamari for our appetizer which was perfectly done and lightly breaded, the best we've ever enjoyed. Tasty homemade rolls with butter and Seasoned Olive Oil came with our creamy soup and salad. The Seafood Alfredo was to die for, the creamy sauce paired perfectly with huge shrimp, mussels, clams and scallops. The creamy brandy sauce that enveloped my husband's order was delightful. Our service was professional and accommodating. We never felt rushed, it was a leisurely dining experience. My only regret is not ordering the Tiramisu with a cup of coffee to make the perfect finish. Next time. The prices are totally reasonable for such delicious offerings. It reminded me of the old Legion Club, The Nebraska Club and Tony and Luigi's. All three of which are terribly missed. Lincoln is so lacking in providing a relaxing, lovely dining experience but now there is one restaurant we will gladly patronize. Thank you to the Chef and to all the kind staff for a memorable evening.

Enjoyable experience here. Lincoln only has a handful of sit-down, fancier, Italian joints but this…read moreone is worth a revisit. Fancy on the inside but prices are really pretty reasonable. I got the Carsoni (pesto) and did both chicken and shrimp which was $22, it's enough for two meals though so this is fair. The sauce was flavorful, good consistency of oil and basil. Loved that it included mushrooms but could have used more of them in it, also had bell pepper and broccoli. I'm not sure broccoli goes too well with the pesto dish, but it was steamed well and soft. The shrimp were huge and they had 4-5 in the dish. We also did bruschetta as an app, and loved the fresh tomatoes/garlic/herbs on top. Loved the dipping sauce with the bread as im a balsamic/oil freak. The soup was just okay, it was a creamy chicken/potato but it was very pureed and not quite what I was expecting, I'm not sure there was even a chunk of chicken in it. I've definitely had better next time, I'll be inclined to try the salad instead. Drinks were fun, I enjoyed the black raspberry margarita flavor and a limoncello spritz although both appeared a bit too watered down and not too strong. Service was fine, however hard to really judge since we came during mid-day late lunch and I'm pretty sure we were the only table there.

Would just like to point out that three people ordered the biscuits and gravy item. Usually most people expect the biscuits to be split in half with gravy all over them, this was not the case. Carmelas serves the biscuits together with a sausage patty sitting on top of the biscuit and I believe an egg on top of that then a SMALL amount of gravy on top of that. Not enough gravy to even dampen the hugh biscuits. I was glad I ordered an omelet.

However, during my most recent visit, the arrival experience was very disappointing. After entering, the host did not acknowledge me at all, and another family who arrived after me was immediately helped first. Several staff members were nearby and could have assisted or at least offered a greeting, but no one did. After waiting without acknowledgment, we ultimately decided to leave and go to another restaurant. Being ignored at the door made us feel unwelcome, and it completely changed our plans for the evening. Good service starts the moment guests walk in, and unfortunately this experience fell far below expectations.

Since then I've been taking my partner to the wine tastings on Thursdays and having casual cocktails on Saturdays. I couldn't be happier with the friendliness of the staff and the great variety of wines during the tastings. The charcuterie platters and the pizzas are great and the monthly specialty pizzas are definitely something you should try. Some reviews say that it seems like a "regulars bar" but as someone who is under 30 and walked in alone the first time and became a frequent customer, I would not let this deter you at all as I never felt like this. I highly recommend this place for a date night, or a nice after work cocktail. Good drinks, good food, good atmosphere, friendly bartenders. 10/10
