During the covid pandemic I am trying not to see doctors, preferring to socially distance as much and as often as possible. Well, my glasses got out of whack, and so I needed them adjusted. Paul is an amazing and caring optician. When I called to see if they were doing any sort of online appointments, he said they had not and then asked what the problem was. When I told him he gave me his cell number and asked me to FaceTime him. Wow. That's great customer service. We did FaceTime and he immediately saw the problem and told me how to fix it. I thought I had, but later that night realized I had not. So I called the next day and asked if I could come and see him. He said absolutely. I shared my concern about getting too close to people. I knew they were all wearing masks, but I asked if he would be willing to wear a face shield. He said absolutely. I went there and everything was socially distanced. And Paul came out to meet me with a face shield on. He took my glasses and fixed them in under 5 minutes. That, my friends, is wonderful service. And it is awesome that Paul and the folks at Tallahassee Eye Center care so much about the feelings and concerns of their patients. read more

My husband's job changed and so did the insurance. So I tried this last year and had no issues. Today I attempted to schedule an appointment and it wasn't pleasant. She offered me a time of 8:30 am. I said no ma'am I live 90 minutes away so I need an appointment early morning early afternoon. After much back and forth she said fine late September. I said that won't work so I guess I will go somewhere else. She said you do that, click. Ok. I will take my business to someone that appreciates my money. read more

I have been coming here for many years. My wife and kids also come here for their annual exams. I really love the staff and doctors here, they are some of the most caring and thoughtful I have ever encountered. As an example, two years ago I experienced a viral pink eye around Christmas. I called into the office, left a message for the on-call Dr and was given a call back. I was given some instructions and told what to look for, but they asked me to call them each day (into Christmas) to give them an update on my eye. If things didn't improve, they were going to come into the office on Christmas day and see me. Who does that anymore? Well, the company I work for was just bought out by a very large corporation that offers terrible vision benefits. Their selected list of approved providers are some of the worst in town. Alcon rebate offered by Tallahassee Eye Center is fraudulent and a scam: do not have Tallahassee Eye Center offer you to buy their Alcon products! I was provided rebate paperwork by Tallahassee Eye Center after purchasing my lens at the Center on October 15, 2021. I filed for the rebate, for which receipt Alcon acknowledged on October 24, 2021. I followed up with Alcon on November 28 about no rebate received, and Alcon replied on November 29 that a physical Visa card would be sent to me. So far nothing. I see from the BBB site that there are numerous similar complaints. If your Tallahassee Eye Center doctor or staff offer the Alcon lenses with a rebate, turn them down as a fraudulent offer! read more

The staff at Tallahassee Eye are friendly, helpful, and able to answer any and all questions. They even helped me to understand my vision insurance. I waited less than 5 minutes in the waiting room. All the procedures were explained as to what would happen and why. Dr. Strickland is warm, friendly, enthusiastic, and very knowledgable. I have worn glasses since the 6th grade and contacts since college - so both for a very long time. I've been to eye doctors in three states and two countries - I have never been this enthusiastic about an optometrist before. I highly recommend them. read more

Worst eye doctor in Tallahassee. went in with pink eye, saw three different doctors who all have different prognosis. Spent hundred of dollars on eye drops to find out two weeks later that it was just pink eye and could of been solved way easier. The front desk staff is the rudest in all of Tallahassee and have no idea what they are doing. Bottom line, this place looks nice but it is far from it. I think the Best Eye Doctor EVER. I felt like part of the family when I walked into the door. Their expertise in diagnosing some conjunctivness in my eye was in short incredible. I needed some antibiotics which they can prescribe there and not have to refer you to someone else was also an incredible service. When I came to Tallahassee back in 2001, I had problems with blind spots developing in my left eye over the Labor Day weekend. My wife suggested I call Dr. Whaley. I was hesitant because it was a holiday weekend and I was not yet her patient, but I was also desperate. Dr. Whaley agreed to see me and gave me a comprehensive exam that Sunday. She also gave me her home number in case of an emergency - which I had to use because I experienced deterioration in my vision the next day. Fortunately, my problems were treated with medication. But I knew I had found a health care provider who cared about my welfare before I was even her patient. My family and I have been loyal patients ever since. read more

Dr. Whaley is patience and wonderful. She is clear and easy to understand. Several of frames were selected for me. This person took the time and picked a pair of frames that fit well on my nose, the lens (size) are perfect for my eyes, the shape of the frame is appropriate for my face and my ears.She is fun! The optical dept. When I was picking out my glasses, I almost always get ray ban avatars I have been getting the for the last 10 yrs with VSP I have been to two eye Doctors not counting you, they all ways give me the lenses from the sunglasses, I always ask for them because I switch out the lenses with my old pair. When I asked the lady about keeping the lenses she stated in a vary sarcastic way "OH SO YOU ARE GOING TO SWITCH THEM OUT" I told her that I save them and switch them out when there become my old RX. she said we don't do that here. I told her I am paying for them why can't I have them? She stated "WE HAVE TO SEND THEM OUT WITH THE FRAMES" I told here that all the other times they didn't have too. she then stated "ITS OUR POLICY AND VSP REQUIRES US TO SEND THEM OUT WITH THE FRAMES". I then told her, I know that VSP does not require that I have been getting them for 12 yrs. I then asked if I am going to get them back or not she stated " IF THEY SEND THEM BACK" I then asked can you put a note with them asking for them back? she stated "NO" so with the above noted I will never come back even tho the Dr was vary nice its your lost because my wife and my 3 kids all were glasses and have VSP so you just lost 5 patents when I come to pick up my glasses if they don't got the sunglasses lenses with them I don't know how this is not theft, I paid for them I will be asking for a refund if this is the case. read more
