free refills on the iced tea
    Re H.

When the weather is nice in New Orleans do NOT miss the opportunity to dine outdoors. Yelper bestie, Jen L. and I skipped up the street (not literally) for a quickie lunch. Ice Teas (pricy, but take advantage of the free refills), Carrots, crispy Cauliflower to share, the Jen ordered a side of Falafel and I ordered the beef kebab pita sandwich. We grabbed a seat out front in the shady part of the day snd began people watching. Apparently a couple HTV famous chaps walked by, but I didn't understand and was called out for bringing out my California loudness (are we loud? I could careless about celebrity, please.....well maybe a couple of peeps) The Cauliflower was especially delicious and we oooh and ahhh'd at every bite. My kebab was sooo good, juicy and packed with crunchy cucumbers. I wish I ordered extra Hummus to go, I know Ill be kicking myself over the oversight. Oh heck I can just go again next week!

Falafel platter with couscous instead of fries

Discovered this place while doing chores in the area, and I'm so glad I came in for breakfast on a whim. Will definitely be going back to try the vegan chicken.... we love to see alternative options! I ordered the falafel platter with couscous instead of fries. Everything was delicious with perfect texture and full flavor. The falafel reminded me a little of the stuff I make at home... which is a compliment because I make bomb falafel. The hummus was nice and creamy, and the fresh pickles were fun to try. The cucumber salad was pretty light on salt and I'm kind of a salt fiend, so I just grabbed a shaker and remedied that. The pita was def one of my favorite parts; it seemed house-made... respect. The couscous was fluffy and plump with a savory tomato flavor. Overall, a super satisfying meal, with portions large enough to take a bit home. Was kinda pricey, but that's likely because of the location; nothing is cheap on Magazine.

I so enjoyed our recent meal at Tal's Hummus. I am still thinking about my chicken souvlaki pita. SO good. Moist chunks of marinated grilled chicken with diced cucumbers & tomatoes, slathered in delicious sauces. One was hummus; the other I wasn't familiar with. But man, this sandwich delivered! The pita is made in house & so darn good. My husband got the mixed grill pita & enjoyed his as well. The pitas are served with French fries. Tal's can be pricey, depending what you order. A modest plate of hummus & pita will run you $13-16 depending which variety. And the entrees are expensive in my opinion (most are $22+ & one is priced at $29) for a fast casual place such as this. One small critique is the fact that they don't have mayonnaise available. We are a mayo-loving family, especially as a dip for French fries. Offer some mayo packets, Tal's! My recommendation: stick with any of the flavorful pitas & you won't leave Tal's disappointed.

This food is the real deal. I recommend the Chicken Shawarma plate, which comes with Israeli Salad, Hummus, fries and pillowy fresh pitot. Friendly service and indoor and outdoor seating.

Always delish. We're regulars an never disappoints. Had the falafel plate and Mediterranean grilled chicken tonight. Beautiful presentation.

A group of 7 of our girlfriends came by while on a trip and it was amazing! So much food, Services's great! I split the 6 sharables with a friend and we had leftovers.... The goat cheese was fantastic!!! Loved the carrots and beets. The regular pita bread was my favorite, but many loved the fried pita too. The babaganoush was yummy too!! We really enjoyed all the food and the setting was really nice too.

    Falafel sandwich.

I came in knowing I wanted a beef shawarma, but outside of pitas, hummus, and a basic shawarma plate, I'm still learning this cuisine. I wanted to try something new, so I asked a lot of questions. The two gentlemen behind the counter were patient, kind, and really helpful. The setup is beautiful. All the toppings laid out, fresh, colorful, and inviting. When it was time to build my wrap, I'll be honest... I didn't know what half of the items were and his accent was a little heavy, so instead of playing the "huh?" game, I trusted him to dress it for me. And I'm glad I did. When someone really knows their food and culture, I like to lean into that. I even recorded him making it because I already knew... if this hits, I'm coming back and I need to remember what went on it. I didn't get to eat it right away, but when I finally did... it was GOOD. Not spicy, a slight sweetness, well-balanced flavors, and seasoned without being overpowering. It felt like a full experience, not just something thrown together. Only thing for me, and this is personal, I would've liked my beef cooked a little less. It leaned more well-done, but it was still tender and juicy, so not a dealbreaker at all. If I had one suggestion, I'd say adding a visual menu with pictures and maybe spice levels for the toppings would help people like me who are still learning and want a little more control when ordering. I did notice it looked like shawarmas used to come with a falafel, and I was lowkey excited to try that for the first time, but I might've missed it or it changed. Either way, next time I'm definitely coming back for it. Overall, really solid spot. Clean, welcoming, flavorful, and worth trying something new. I'll be back.

Great option for vegetarians honestly. Falafel - comes with toum and the green sauce, very yummy, well fried Hummus with bread was also really good. Wish we had more bread though. French fries - I was skeptical when my friend recommended this but honestly, nicely salted fries and perfect vessel for dipping into all the various sauces. The vegetable plates were absolutely delicious. The seasonal vegetable they had at the time was broccoli with harissa sauce which was yummy and I wish we had more of, honestly. The kale and cabbage salad was so good and refreshing. I'm normally not the biggest fan of kale but this salad was just so good, definitely recommend a large portion to share with everyone. We also got pickled cauliflowers as well, very fresh. Definitely loved all the sauces and all the vegetables. Felt like everything was very flavorful and refreshing. The move is definitely to share a bunch of dishes with friends so you get a little of every yummy thing. I would say that the 7 plates (including 2 falafel and 1 large kale salad) we got were enough for the 4 of us to feel comfortably satiated.

The ambiance is beautiful--bright, airy, and very neutral with a beige-toned aesthetic. Seating was comfortable, though the noise level was a bit high, likely due to it being a busy lunch hour. Pricing reflects the restaurant's popularity and positioning. Overall, it was a decent experience, but not particularly memorable. If I return to New Orleans, this probably wouldn't make it back onto my list.

Sat at a booth type table for comfort, only to discover we had to tip toe around the messy floor and I kicked away a ball of something rather than squish it. Husband said wrap was tasty but didn't remember they use a wrap instead of a pita for the gyro sandwich. (I had the gyro on our last visit.) Rice was good. My dolmas, however, were gross. I don't dip them in tzatziki, I typically like the taste. However, today the rice inside them was very, very gooey, as if they sat over the holiday. I ate 2.5 and threw the rest out. Someone came out to ask how things were but apparently didn't notice they were standing on rice. I didn't say anything about the dolmas, because by this time they were in the trash. Took home the remaining portion of the gyro, rice & tzatziki. Asked for a to go box, then asked again for lids for the sauce. Both times I interrupted someone playing on their phone, and the rest of the staff was hanging out talking behind the counter. Really wished they had taken the time to check the dining area.
