Cute restaurant in Orlando. It definately had a filipino vibe with cane chairs and some filipino decor. We ordered the Crispy Pata, Pancit, Dinuguan, curry Chicken, Chicken adobo and tortang talong. There was only 1 server when we arrived and service was a bit slow as a result. The vhicken adobo was a bit heavy on the bayleaf taste. The other food was good. Come an try this great little filipino food stop.

Tried this new family-owned Filipino spot with the fam this past weekend and we really enjoyed it. My Filipino mother-in-law was in town and it even got her stamp of approval. We tried the pork sisig, garlic shrimp, and the bistek tagalog. We also ordered the kids longanisa plate for my son (which he didn't eat so I ate it, haha). Everything was super flavorful and tasty. The longanisa sausages were amazing and I would definitely get those again. I also really enjoyed the garlic shrimp, though be prepared that they are served whole with the shells and heads on, so you will get messy. My husband did say that the pork sisig contained a bit too much cartilage and hard pieces for his liking and he found it difficult to eat. We, of course, had to get the halo halo for dessert and it was definitely one of the better ones I have had. We crushed it! The space itself is quaint and there's a small stage where they host karaoke. You can tell that this is a popular restaurant for families with children. I saw that they have a dedicated area at the front with games, books, and coloring activities for kids which is nice to see. Since they are a more family-oriented restaurant, I do suggest that they invest in a few more high chairs because they only had one and it was already in use when we got there. Two more families walked in needing one, and it's not ideal to have a toddler in your lap while trying to eat.

Really yummy food! I got the Bistek Tagalog and it was a perfect portion size, and the onions were the star of the show! I got the Turon which was really yummy with the ice cream too. The server was very nice and let me and my friend do the karaoke long past we were done eating! Quaint establishment and the food tasted like a home-cooked meal.

I ordered takeout here and I am so happy they have a restaurant now. I have been following Maya's Merienda at farmers markets, Asian festivals and other local Filipino events and they have always served my favorite Filipino street snacks like pork and beef bbq skewers, Flipino jumbo hotdog, isaw, pig ears, pork belly, as well as pancit and lumpia. I couldn't wait to support this restaurant and hope to see it thrive. I ordered the lechon kawali, pork sisig, and the crispy pork belly kare kare. The dishes come with your choice of white rice or garlic rice. The pork sisig was good but I preferred it to have a little bit of spice. The lechon was perfectly crispy. The crispy kare-kare was my favorite! It wasn't soggy and the sauce was so flavorful. It came with the best accompaniment "bagoong"(shrimp paste) on the side too. I also ordered sago't gulaman to drink (tapioca and jelly) - good size and very refreshing. For dessert I ordered leche flan; it was a bit sweet for me and the custard was a little soft but still good. I can't wait to try their halo-halo next time. Maya was super sweet and took care of my order promptly. The inside of the restaurant felt very homey - made me feel like I was eating at a relative's or friend's house just hanging out and eating some Filipino food. They have a small stage for karaoke and events too. Keep an open mind when trying a new Filipino spot. They're not always going to taste like your grandma's cooking or what you're used to. Filipinos cook their dishes differently by spice and ingredients depending on what region they're from. I'm so excited this place opened up only 15 minutes from me. Make sure to also catch Maya's Merienda out and about selling their skewers and other Filipino dishes!

In a word - Masarap! Delicious. I ordered from the lunch combo Rice dishes. That was very filling and generous serving. Also ordered lumpia shanghai freshly made and crispy with dipping sauce on the side. For dessert I ordered the halo halo which came in this humongous goblet topped a scoop of ice cream and a cube of flan. Pricing is fair, nothing excessive. Interior of the place is simply decorated- nothing pretentious. Homey atmosphere for sure. Highly recommend this place for diners wanting a taste of Filipino cuisine. I suggest the adobo - chicken or pork- which is always a safe bet plus any of the noodles. Don't live in Orlando but this place goes into my go to places whenever I'm in Orlando.

The food was super tasty! The portion size was also great. The soup I got had a great ginger kick. The service was exceptional. The place was not too loud. If you are looking to try Filipino food, you must try! I will most definitely be back!

A homey-cozy atmosphere, serving your home-cook Filipino dishes. Spend time with your friends and family and enjoy the hang out vibes we offer. Request for karaoke and you'll have it!

I went in on a late Friday night. I was seated promptly because of my reservation at the bar. The…read morerestaurant is already very cozy, but being seated at the bar gave me a much more intimate experience. My server welcomed me and was great in helping me feel welcome as a solo diner. It was also very entertaining watching her and the other bartender whip up drinks in front of me. I ordered: Kinilaw - This is an elevated and more upscale take on the traditional dish. The hamachi was very fresh and the inclusion of the radish helped provide a change in texture. Despite all the fruit, it wasn't very sweet and the flavors of those and the coconut milk worked very well together. It tastes like kinilaw but it doesn't have the same "punch" or "impact" as the traditional one. But again, this is an upscale version and still tasted great otherwise. Crab Fat Shrimp - Shrimp cooked with a very creamy coconut milk sauce. I ordered this dish with the Sinangag garlic rice instead of having it with collard greens. Eating the shrimp with the rice is a great choice since the rice soaks up so much of the flavor from the sauce and the shrimp. Portion was surprisingly filling. Strawberry Basque Cheesecake - This was the best part of the menu! This portion was so generous and the dessert itself was sweet, but not sugary. The cheesecake was creamy and the roasted strawberries provided some acidity to cut through the richness. I had this with a salabat tea. Hot Salabat Tea - Ginger tea with lemon slices and a honey syrup. I loved how fresh the ginger was and it was a great way to end off the night. It felt very good for digestion. This is an upscale restaurant and therefore prices aren't very cheap. However, this is a restaurant to try at least once, especially for a special occasion.

I pretty much ordered the Classic Halo Halo - They have another version that leans more towards Americanized but the classic is the Filipino Traditional version. When it was delivered - I noticed it had more milky shaved ice than toppings. (As you can see from the picture). The toppings included - Shredded coconut, Flan, Ube Halaya, Colorful Kaong, Sweet beans, Sweetened Banana and Jackfruit. Before you can see it was more loaded in the glass. The price was $10.50 which is not bad for the size. The milk shaved ice was tooo sweet for my liking. I can tell it was a pre made milk ice block that they shaved once ordered. It fulfilled the craving nonetheless. Also I noticed some were buying the Siopao. Especially the Pork Asado one. They were almost out inside the cooler. I was told by staff that someone delivers the siopaos (the baker) and they are 4 huge siopao for $10.95. The Siopao were the BEST I have had. Better than the filipino franchised bakeries, That is how good these are. You can tell they are homemade. They are large tender soft fluffy light dough and not too thick ratio with the pork asado filling. The filling is packed inside the dough and that is what I love about this siopao. Its not mostly dough. It is evened out throughout - Every bite you get the filling. I will def get these again. Service here is ok - I noticed the check out tab .. They divide the taxes when you pay the bill and its confusing at first as to why they add 3 types of "taxes" for a bill. You are paying 3 taxes along with the sub total of the bill. Other than that - The Halo Halo was a popular dessert this day throughout the diners,

When it was time to pay, they haven't cooked the Turon and we have to wait 15 minutes for it. Which we didn't. The server apologized. The ambience was casual. The AC is not that good. They had fans all over to keep the place somewhat cool. We ordered chicken chicharron, too salty. Bangsilog was bland, the chicharron made up for the taste. The longsilog, my husband didn't like. He said, it's not the same as the one I usually cook for him. It tasted old to me. The garlic fried rice was good. Not going back.

The rice noodle dish stands out in my mind. It was delicate and flavorful. Kanayan Grill is in a strip mall. But it is an island of its own. The restaurant is clean and well cared for. The server was friendly and helpful. She checked on us and answered questions. We had the egg rolls which were crispy and very good with a dipping sauce. We ordered sotanghon which best fit my memory of a favorite from the past. I was really good. A large portion with vegetables and meat. We also had Bicol express combo. This was a wonderful surprise. The flavors blended together in a savory creamy spicy sauce-heat can be adjusted. You could taste the coconut but not overpowering. Just the perfect blend. The pork was tender. It came with a perfectly cooked rice. Beverages were cans/bottles with cups of ice on request. For dessert we had the famous Halo-Halo. Mix mix mix we were told. And we did. But before I mixed I tried the Ube ice cream alone. I had never had Ube before. It was delicious. I read the ingredients before I ordered it but after mix mix mix we were treated to taste explosions. I am not sure what each one was to be honest, but it was amazing and I didn't need to know. It was a fun experience. I didn't add photos because there are so many perfect photos already posted.
