    At home, before shower

I'm only giving one star because I have to give something. I went to Tambi on the recommendation of a friend who has went thrre for years. (Who's hair always looks great btw) well, my experience? Not so great. I will provide pictures. When I first left the salon, I WAS happy with my hair. I even tipped her. Did NOT have a fit over the massive amount she charged, i paid my bill. HOWEVER... Once I got home, and showered (tiny hairs are itchy and I still had the barrier cream on my neck) I WAS SHOCKED. I have a massive area of no color. I tried for 3 days to contact Tambi in an effort to have it fixed. When she final. When I was at the salon I DID say messaged me back, she was nasty, condescending, said to have a lawyer contact hers, and said the only reason i was complaining is because of the cost. Um NO! You can see, by the photos, it has nothing to do with money. Its the fact I cannot wear my hair down and it looks ridiculous. I told her, I was more than happy to cover the supplies but I wanted a refund since she was not returning my messages for 3 days. She said she provided the service I asked for. Um, no. In her salon pictures, it does APPEAR to be done nicely, however, I have photo evidence to the contrary. I did NOT want to give a bad review. She has children she supports and I fidnt wish anything bad for her business and I even told her that! Only thing I got back was insults.

    What she agreed to do.

I made an appointment with Tambi to get a balayage done. The first photo is my hair to start with. The second photo is what we agreed to accomplish during the first visit. I also said I wanted to keep my own roots. The third picture is when Tambi highlighted my entire head including up to my roots, even leaving that massive spot in the middle of my hair bright brassy yellow/orange. I wanted my roots to go back to being dark and she offered to put a toner/color or something(didn't explain it well) on the rest of my hair to make it less brassy. The toner or color she picked was supposed to make my hair more natural looking. I now have a black crown of roots and nasty dead looking hair, darker than my original hair. In order of the photos: my original hair, what we agreed upon for the first appointment, what she did for high lights, what I walked out of the salon with. I was balling. I called back the day after and asked if I could get a refund as I will need to go get my hair fixed - I have a full time job and the grey turned to a blue hue... I can't have blue hair in an office, sorry! She was so defensive and told me that I agreed to everything that she did to my hair. Even told me I could sue her rather than just get my money back. I gave her a pretty nice tip as I felt bad that I hated my hair after she did it. My mistake! She told me she would ruin my hair if she did it again and would make me sign a waiver. All I want is her to cover up the grey. I went to a different salon and they told me if I were to sue her for anything I should sue her for not listening to her client and WAY over toning or USING THE WRONG COLOR. She told me that if she had done anything wrong she would be the first to admit it. Well I have black and grey hair and she told me it's what I wanted. Ha. Don't ever go here. Don't even think about it. Save yourself. She's cheap for a reason. Also don't pay ANYTHING if you are not 100% happy because she will not admit that she did it wrong. Apparently I really wanted blue hair haha cheers. I'll edit this accordingly if I ever hear her apologize or refund me any of my money. She also charged me to cut my hair and I denied the cut but still got charged.

We both wanted to go blonder and get some layers and she made sure we understood what she was saying and made sure we got what we wanted. We both absolutely loved her and loved the way our hair turned out. 10/10 recommend her!

I debated writing this review for months, actual months, because I feel so bad saying something…read morenegative about a specific stylist who was overall very kind, but I have to because I was completely taken advantage of. I called asking about extensions and scheduling a highlight/lowlight with the consult. I had wanted to work with Hayley upon researching her work. I also mentioned I preferred Bellami extensions as I have had good experiences with them and didn't read many positive things about Laced. The manager informed me yes they could do Bellami as well. Hayley was lovely at the appointment and my color turned out wonderful. Then she told me she couldn't do Bellami but I could schedule with another stylist who does. Then why did they book my appointment with her?? Hayley talked me into Laced as the color options were wonderful and she assured me she has never had issues with the hair quality. When I went to pay the price was double what I was quoted. Hayley never mentioned any price difference or, more importantly, asked me if I approved it. I figured it was a mix up and payed and asked to schedule my extension install. Unfortunately she couldn't get me in for about 6 weeks but that happens. 3 days later when I shampooed my color was basically gone. I have never had color fade at all, let alone in 3 days. I was bummed. I for some insane reason went for my extension appointment 6 weeks later. She did not offer nor make time to recolor my hair, which at 6 weeks, even if it hadn't faded, was of course grown out. Once again, at the register, double what I was quoted, no mention of it during the appointment. IT IS NOT OK TO SPEND SOMEONE ELSES MONEY WITHOUT THEIR CONSENT! Yet I paid. Initially I thought they looked good but once I got home, she hadn't put nearly enough hair in. I needed almost double to not look like I had a mullet. So I myself purchased more hair from Laced. Then I get into inspecting my rows. These should be invisible bead rows. I could see every bead. The work looked nothing like the work she posts online. Again, let down. 48 hours later one row is slipping out. Happens on thin hair, but not once in my life in 48 hours, and I have been wearing extensions for 20 years. I made an appointment and she fixed it, with brown thread in my blonde hair which made it rather obvious. Repeat a week later. This time when I come in she states "I told the receptionist not to make you feel bad for booking appointments for fixes because that's what happens with thin hair". First, I didn't feel bad about expecting a service that costs a couple thousand dollars to be fixed (heck, done correctly to begin with), but with that I was done with her. To no one's surprise my rows sipped again in days. She also would leave the edges out so they poked through my hair as it is thin. When I pointed it out she refused to tie them down. This is not done with extensions. With all this I was done. I researched, practiced and bought supplies to put them in myself. Now I can go the normal expected time without them slipping. I feel very taken advantage of and a bit heartbroken that someone did this to me. Oh and while Laced aren't as bad as I heard, they shed a lot, which Bellami does not. Wouldn't recommend as there is no price difference.

The store and shelves are a mess and the ladies they have working at the front register are awful. When I went to make my purchase two days ago, there were four ladies standing behind the counter chatting. They looked at me like I was an intruder. Finally one (Marina) motioned me to the counter. Marina could not have been more unfriendly if she tried (actually maybe she was trying to be awful). When I got done paying, she put my item in a bag that was barely large enough to hold the item without ripping. Then she said, "here's that for you." No, she did not say thank you, or have a nice day or any other acceptable phrase that would indicate to YOUR CUSTOMERS THAT ULTA APPRECIATES THEIR BUSINESS. She said "here's that for you" motioning to the item that I just paid my hard earned $$ for! I understand that it may be hard to find good help, but trust me on this Ulta, I've been working in business for 40 years and IT'S MUCH HARDER TO FIND GOOD CUSTOMERS! There are a lot of other options available. After being a "Platinum Member" for years, given my continued disappointments at Ulta Davenport, I have decided to switch all my future purchases to Sephora. Sephora's staff are well trained everywhere you go. They act like they actually appreciate their customers! I don't know why Ulta hasn't addressed the issues with their Davenport store. It would be better to close the store than to suffer the reputational damage. Never again Ulta!!
