Charming Charlie's, an inexpensive but incredibly well stocked accessories store featuring items in every color of the rainbow, was my primary destination but unfortunately they have closed down. The place likely held such promise when the economy was better. It's one of those multi-use developments--office space, shops and condos all rolled into one, singular, park-like area. I like the concept. The MAX stops right in the middle of The Round, providing easy transportation to City Center, Hillsboro or Gresham. Sadly, most of the spaces appear to be empty and the only hub of activity is the 24 Hour Fitness. There are big "For Lease" signs hanging from the office buildings and there's a vacant lot where the construction of another was clearly halted abruptly. I work in the area and several of my co-workers have had their cars burglarized in the parking lot. Meth heads are constantly staggering around on the MAX platform. It's kind of sad to see someone's big idea wither away. Perhaps when things are booming again, this place will be full of tenants and happy times.
