I tore my ACL playing volleyball. After 6 weeks of PT and not feeling like I was really getting anywhere, I decided to try a chiropractor. I had only been to one in the past and had decided it was too "woo-woo" for me and that it didn't really work. Desperate for a sign of improvement, I scheduled an appointment at Tanasse Chiropractic. Tanasse Chiropractic appears to be in a newer building. Everything is always really clean and the atmosphere is vibrant without feeling busy. There is plenty of parking. The ladies at the front desk always have a smile and a friendly tidbit of chit chat. Alex is another member of his team. She seems to be his assistant though I'm sure there is a more official word for her position. She keeps track of your treatment areas and preferences (manual vs instruments) and also does traction session in addition to more stuff. She is also very easy and interesting to talk with ( which is important if you are in traction for an extended period of time cause it gets boring!). But real talk. My knee. Oh and also the weekly recurring migraine inducing headaches that I was just settled on living with. Both are leaps and bounds improved. John and Alex made me a treatment plan that included traction. I am currently going 2 times a week. I have had one migraine in 3 months. I went from being scared to jog for 30 second intervals to doing zumba 2X/week, weight lifting 2X a week and have even been able to add in a step aerobic class. My knee is no longer painful, except for when John is working on it, but even that is getting better. I am starting to have confidence in my knee again and am 95% back to normal. I credit John and I am so thankful I found him and his team. Some people may think it is weird that he doesn't treat each individual patient in an exam room but I like the more functional open approach. It makes the whole process seem less sterile and clinical. Seriously, if you are having any issues, go see him for a tune up. Dr Tanasse, aside from being very kind, gentle, and a good listener, definitely has a gift for healing. I found him after I had undergone back surgery and scar tissue was starting to form. He is trained in using the Active Release Technique and he got me back to walking and to the gym in very short order.
