Very difficult to schedule a massage. They are booked out months in advance. Which sucks for me because I have a membership (I got the membership when I lived in another state) that charges me whether I have massages or not. I did have a great massage with Martina, who I got lucky, had a cancellation, so I was able to use one of my accruing membership credits. However, when I went to book again with her she had no availability for at least two months. I didn't ask for later than two months. They don't use the Massage Envy app for booking, so you have to call in. Which isn't the end of the world, but one of the reasons I bought a membership was how consistent and convenient the process was. I wouldn't recommend getting a membership if you live in Olympia because your credits will accrue faster than you can use them, but if you get lucky and can get in with Martina for an nonmembership massage, go for it! read more

Very frustrating, made 6 appointments and received 2 services. Received 4 calls of cancellation due to clinical people not showing up or called off sick, my last appointment for facial was told by receptionist that it would be a reduced cost with upgrade due to my inconvenience, at checkout she said there was no notes in the computer regarding our conversation 2 weeks prior. Very frustrated and will not recommend this place. The only reason I kept making appointments to be seen was because my employer gave me 2 gift cards at Christmas. read more

I booked a couples massage here for myself and my MOH the day before the wedding. The first time discount made the prenuptial indulgence reasonably affordable. When we arrived we were greeted by the receptionist and given our information sheet. We waited only about 10 minutes and then were taken back to our room. The rooms are dark and relaxing and I appreciated the heated table. Otherwise the ambiance is really lacking. It is not designed to feel like a spa and actually reminded me more of a doctors office or physical therapy room. You even pay extra for scented oil. Our massage therapists were having some issues with getting water they needed for something so it took a while to get started and mine had to leave in the middle of my massage to attend to it. The massage itself was great and our massage therapists were funny and pleasant and very talented. I had paid for an additional sugar foot scrub which took up the final 15 minutes of our massage time. The scrub was nice, but paying extra and having it carved out of our already purchased massage time was something I'd wished had been better explained to me upon purchase. Overall I like the massage therapists here but was less impressed with the overall facilities and design. read more

I cannot say enough horrible things about this place. If I hadn't received a gift card worth five sessions, I would never return here again. It's almost tempting to not even bother with the free massages that I do have. First of all they were booked out over six months when I received my gift certificate. 6 months!! Ever since then every time I try to book something it's at least three+ months out. They have almost no therapist willing to work here and the few that they do have are absolutely horrible. The first three massages I had with someone were the worst massages I've ever had. I basically felt like I was being rubbed down by my grandma. There was absolutely no massage to it, it's as if she was just applying lotion to my body. I specifically requested to never have her again, and the two times I showed up after, surprise surprise she was my therapist. I finally had someone different this last time, she was better but still not great. Very rushed massage. My gift certificate package also came with a handful of promo cards worth $25 each. Come to find out they're only valid for two or three months from the date of purchase. Absolutely ridiculous. I would never ever ever recommend this place to anybody, especially if you're willing to pay for a massage. Shoot even if it's free I wouldn't recommend it. Go down the street to the Foot Massage Place in the goodwill center, probably the best massage I've ever had for half the price. read more

They had a holiday special where it was only $150 to get a hour massage for them, which actually came with a bonus massage for me ^.^ I'm only 23 years old, but I have had a lot of tension in my upper back since I was in elementary school. I've been to quite a few people since I started going at such a young age. I hate it when my massage is too light on my shoulders. I've heard a lot of general grumblings about the Massage Envy franchise in the past, but I quite enjoyed my experience with this location in Olympia. First, the woman on the phone who set up my appointment (which happened to be a credit shared by a friend who has a membership) was extremely helpful despite me not knowing any other information about said-member-friend. She was able to locate the membership information, my credit, and set me up with an appointment despite the short notice. When I arrived at Massage Envy, the front desk staff was professional and the space was clean and inviting. I was personally escorted to the restroom as well as the waiting lounge where I was given tea while I waited. I also like that there were electrical outlets for me to charge my phone and lots of magazines to browse, including non-fashion magazines which I really appreciated. My consultation was professional, brief but comprehensive. Ty, my masseuse, was professional the entire time. This was my first time having a male masseuse and I was quite nervous but it was a great massage. He focused on my problem areas and I felt great after. My only criticism is that after everything was said and done, the front desk ladies did try to sell me a membership. I expected that though going into it from the beginning. But it was great to hear that they offered military rates at an even more discounted price (not by much, but any small reduction helps). Overall I did enjoy Massage Envy. I was gifted a year membership to Massage Envy a couple months ago. I don't have a lot of massage experience, so I had no expectations going into it. I was impressed though. The staff are very pleasant and respectful. My masseuse, Stephanie, is amazing. She doesn't talk too much, so I can enjoy the experience, but does check in to make sure pressure is where I want it. I would recommend this place to anyone wanting a good massage. I've had the hot stone massage too, which is by far my favorite. I went to Massage Envy because of the $39 first time special. I typically prefer not to shop at chain stores and was very skeptical about the experience. I love massage, but I also have high expectations after suffering from years of back pain. I was fortunate to get the most amazing massage therapist, Wayne. I can't say enough good things about him. He is strong, intiuitive and allows me to not engage in talking and really be in the moment. I ended up getting a membership because of him. I'm not sure if the other therapists are up to his standard because I haven't seen anyone else now, but I would highly recommend a membership if you get to see Wayne or if the other therapists are anything like him. Oh - plus he is a really kind soul. You can feel that energy from him. And my back? Doing better than ever! read more

If she has used the strength of her flapping jaw in the massage she was given, it might have been a great experience. So, the overall experience failed to be relaxing. I have been with Massage Envy (ME) place for about 6 years. Throughout this time there were only 3 massage therapists out of all that I've tried that were really good at what they were doing. Unlike other therapists they were truly able to help me with my back, neck and other muscle issues. Unfortunately 2 of them left and I was never able to get that information from ME to follow them for my own health. Before I found the therapists that I liked it was a waste of my time and money. About a year ago my credit card was compromised and canceled. I forgot to let ME know and forgot that it was a new credit card. Of course they called me, but only after several months of missed payments. During our first conversation I didn't have my CC on me, so I told them I'd call them back. When I called them back several days later I was told that nobody was there to help with this because it had to be one of the managers, so they made a note to contact me. Nobody contacted me for several weeks, so I called them again. They apologized for not calling me back for such a long time and that they were willing to wave the months that were missed, but they couldn't make any changes to the file or take my information because it was another person who was overseeing my account. So they said they would have her call me back. I didn't get a call back. Several months later I called again and talked to a person named Tamy. She said that Ashleigh was overseeing my account and what they had on their notes was that they called for months and left messages but I never called back. Not only that the notes said they send mail as well. False information. I have been with ME for 6 years and was a good customer, everything was always paid on time, whenever there were changes on my side I called and took care of them. So claiming that they kept reaching out to me for months and didn't get any response from me is not true. Somebody was not doing their job. So my account is cancelled and my membership removed, which actually works in my favor because I wanted to leave this place for a long time and the last massage therapist I was seeing was the only reason why I kept showing up there. The only issue I have is that I had 6-7 free massages which I earned before, I paid for them and they just canceled those. $300 worth of massage sessions. That's just poor business practice and low integrity overall. I will never come to this place again. From what I read online there are several lawsuits against ME for improper techniques, deceptive business practices, poor treatment of their employees, poor customer service and so on. read more

I love Massage Envy. My therapist is a gem. She has been incredibly helpful in relieving the stickiness and pain of a frozen shoulder. I read many of the other reviews and was interested to hear some of the negative comments like a non-member with a gift card who couldnt book an appointment on their chosen days. ME is so popular, and rightly so, because they are so good that I book a month in advance to be sure I can get in with my preferred therapist. So I'm not surprised that someone could not get a nearly immediate appointment... member or not. Additionally, someone complained about the atmosphere. I don't know about anyone else but when I'm having a massage my criteria is that it's a clean and quiet facility and that my therapist gets the job done. I had been trying for several weeks to make an appointment and told over the phone any of the days I wanted were booked up, so I decided to try to make an appointment in person. I was informed today when I went in in person that they aren't taking any appointments and won't be for 3-4 weeks if you aren't a member. In 3-4 weeks I should get a phone call to make an appointment for who knows when. I received a gift card for my birthday, so they have already been paid, so I guess its a great business model for them! Take the cash and don't give the goods! I was sorely disappointed when I decided to take advantage of their $39 first time special. The massage was only 50 minutes long and I felt rushed. The therapist was not that great and didn't listen to me when I told her to lighten up a bit. Their membership is not so great either. I think they said it was just under $60/month and that you get one massage "free" 50 minute per month and the rest at a discounted rate. I can go to my regular massage therapist for just $65/hour(60 minutes) and she will go over an hour if I have more issues than normal. She also has package deals that bring the cost of the massages down to $50/hour. Now that's a deal. One more thing. What is with those little tip envelopes they have in the treatment rooms. Its like they expect a tip even if they didn't do a good job. read more

The middle-mark was not for the massage I did receive (my first massage was with Jackie and I thought she did a 5-star job.) My complaint is the "hard-sell" to become a "member" immediately after my first visit. I did make the 1-year commitment, however. For my FIRST scheduled member massage, I showed up only to be told that it was cancelled because the therapist couldn't come in (BTW, it was NOT Jackie). I had no idea - and had planned my week around the timing of this appointment. When I looked at my phone records, I received the call for cancellation one hour before my scheduled appointment (it takes me 45 minutes to even drive there). I was VERY upset. And ME makes a big deal out of canceling an appointment 24 hours in advance, or else you will be charged for the session. They did NOTHING to try to compensate me for their error. Just a shrug of the shoulder and "sorry." Unfortunately, it has seriously colored my view of their business professionalism. read more
