Dr Tanchoco is a wonderful pediatrician! She and her nursing staff have taken great care of our first born.

Our family first met Dr. T and staff in January 2019 when I needed a pediatrician for my 3 year old then. We just moved back in the area and needed a new dr as our old pediatrician at that time was located in Woodland Hills. Just wanted to say how much Dr. T and her staff has been like a family to us. My kids have never received care like the type of care we get at this clinic. For instance, there isn't ever a time where I couldn't reach out to Dr. T if I felt something was urgent. She always answers every concern, every question via text if I deem something important and needs her guidance or advice and yes, even when she's on vacation, which I appreciate so much more than she could ever know. The staff really makes us feel cared for and I feel like they are my "Titas". Tita Vangie and Tita J.Lo as I refer to them, who have answered my dozen calls for the past 2 weeks when my 2 year old came down with RSV and needed to be seen at the ER- from seeing us even before clinic hours to make sure we get seen on short notice, to setting up lab work at the hospital. They go beyond any expectations. We're so lucky and grateful for everyone at this clinic. To Dr. T and Titas, thank you for all the guidance and care this past couple of weeks. We are still not out of the woods with RSV, but I have peace of mind knowing they are just a call away if needed. read more

I love Dr Tanchoco and her staff. We met Dr Tanchoco at the hospital when my baby was born. She became his pediatrician during our stay there. Dr Tanchoco helped speak for us at the maternity ward because the hospital was being extremely difficult about giving us formula to feed our baby. She saw the tension and stress we were under and helped be our voice. I decided to keep Dr Tanchoco and have continued to take my son for all his shots and medical needs. She spends time with us answering our questions as first time parents and has been so professional and caring. I will do everything to continue to bring my son to Dr Tanchoco for years to come. I would not revisit with this doc(Long story short summary at bottom). On the surface it may seem that she's attentive, but in the end you have to realize that she is (and trained her staff to be) in it for the money. So, patient comes in for a physical which is covered by insurance and they asked for $100 deposit which would be returned once insurance pays. Never had that happen before, but sure why not; I'll comply. We get in for the physical and doc asks if there's any history and I inform her that patient has anemia. We get blood tests ordered as part of physical. A few days later, we get a call from the office that the blood test results came back and it's urgent. We need to get to the office and discuss. Of course in a situation like this, we'd want to know what it is. Nurse on the phone says doc needs to see us in person and cannot tell us on the phone and we need to go in. We ask if it's anemia or is it something else? Again they refuse to tell us. So then mom takes off from work to go in to understand the severity of situation. She was greeted by the reception that because we have HSA, the visit will be $70. She didn't have enough cash and only had $65, reception says that's good too. Red flags start going up. Doc sees her and says blood came back positive for anemia, we need to make sure patient takes iron. That was all. Doc tells us what we told her. There's no additional prescription, nothing else we need to do. Fast forward to when I get the receipt in the mail. Doc line by line charged a ridiculous amount (hundreds of dollars) to the insurance with one line that apparently wasn't covered (vision test). Their vision test was $50, which involved the eye chart we call out the letters we see. $50! When I asked about the absurdity, the reception checks the bill on her side ensured I won't be charged. I then asked to get all my money back. She tells me that I will get a check for $100 and if there's anything else I need. The bill also said the previous (unwarranted) visit was $63.91. Now I'm even more tweaked. First off, she asked for $70 the first time and then was ok with $65. Now she's hoping I didn't check and wouldn't realize the price difference. When I brought up that there was a difference, she then tells me she'll include that too. Absolutely dishonest. Lastly, I asked about why they had us go in when we knew the patient's condition and we totally did not need to pay to have the doc tell us what we told the doc. Reception tells me that it's protocol. This is the craziest thing I have ever heard. All the previous docs didn't need do this; not for any of us. This screams "money hungry" like no tomorrow. The doc and office refuse to refund the money for the unwarranted visit which we were required to go in for. You can argue we didn't have to go in, but that means not knowing what urgent blood results meant. To top this off, when I expressed that I had to take off from work to go in to hear what I know, the reception rebutted with "No, you did not have to come in. Mom had to come in, so I don't know what you're complaining about". I am once again baffled at this customer service. I don't see the difference of who has to take off work. It's a day off work (lost money at work) and a bill from the doc's office to find out what we knew. Long story short, doc and office is money hungry. They want to maximize their earnings by charging patient and insurance as much as they can. They will pocket any extra if you don't check your bill. And they would want you to have as many office visits as possible as long as they feel it is necessary. Edit: Doc replied to this message in public and private message. I've left bad reviews before and every reply I received was to try to make things better except this one. The reply says I complained about deductible, which I didn't. Asked for compensation for time off work, which I didn't. Security deposit was returned in full after I dug into the details (i.e. the $1.09, and it's not the money, it's the principle). Also, I was threatened with a lawsuit for this review. Just a dose of what to expect...I state it as I see it. read more

My first child's pediatrician, so can't compare with others. However, I am very happy with her service, very patient with questions (my wife is a bit paranoid of any little symptoms), very nice. If I can add, she is very beautiful (in an elegant look). The staffs are amazing, friendly, and helpful. If I have any complain, it must be bcs the clinic is in an old place and I prefer them to accept credit cards. But, I know a plenty of clinics don't accept credit card, either, so it is ok. As for the place, it is definitely acceptable, clean, bright enough, neat, just a bit pld, I have no problem with it. read more

She always follow up with the conditions of my kids when they are sick and make sure they are recovering well. So stupid the operator is!!! Waited 10mins after she put me on hold!! All i need to schedule an appointment for a new patient and all they care about is - how did you hear about them, get your insurance information when these can follow next!! Can't even say if they have available schedule that would fit yours! What is the condition of your patient!! Better train front liners!! So disappointed!! No they are not efficient! If they are-they could have let me know or ask if I am willing to wait? Would I know if you are busy or not at that time? When my first son was born we had a hard time finding a good and caring pediatrician team. I can tell you from experience, it is not just the doctor that matters, the staff on the doctor's team also matters. Dr. Tanchoco is the best pediatrician ever in my opinion. She cares and her team cares! She even agreed to meet us at her office on a weekend when we had an emergency a couple years back. No doctor has ever done this for us. Her staff always follows up and I just couldn't be happier with Dr. Tanchoco and her team. It takes about 25 minutes one way to drive to her office, yet we are happy to make that drive every time for the past 7 years for both of our boys. We've been here for a long time with both my son (8 yrs) and my daughter (2.5 yrs), since they were Born at the Citrus Valley Hospital. All I can say is this is more like home with a warm service and care, Dr. Tanchoco is one of the greatest pediatrician compare to a lot of them around my house( I'm living in Chatsworth) and Los Angels area, that's why I don't really mind that I have to take a long drive to be here. I have been running around trying to find a doctor for my newborn. I never had a problem with PPO but the ladies in the office made sure to run my insurance and got seen the same day. I was turn down at two other offices and other doctors couldn't see my newborn till July. However not only were the staff great but doctor was very thorough and made sure all questions were answered! Glad my newborn was able to be seen for his month check up. We will be returning for all his other check ups. read more

I wish I can give 50 stars to Dr. Tanchoco and the entire staff. This office has been our PREFERRED pediatrician for our two daughters ever since they were both born. They've helped keep them healthy their entire lives (now 9 and 14). We're extremely happy with the service they provide, ALWAYS taking the time to diagnose and treat our kids. The front staff is welcoming and kind with prompt follow ups, from appointments to reminders of needed information. A class act! Dr. Tanchoco is attentive and treats our kids like her own, making sure their health is the PRIORITY. I really can't say enough great things about every person in her office. I always feel good that my girls are in excellent hands whenever we have our visits. We will never change to another doctor until our kids can no longer qualify to be patients. I love my pediatrician. She is usually available for emergency appointments, same day or next day. Most importantly she takes her time with her patients, examining them and taking the time to explain what's going on and things to look out for. I feel so blessed to have found her. All things bieng equal you cannot put a price tag on the quality of service that my family receives with Dr Tanchoco and her entire staff. We have been blessed to have had her as our family pediatrician for over five years now and in a world where speed and quantity have taken the place of the individual and quality Dr Tanchoco and staff have not comprised there integrity, nor has it wavered. She continues to be a great physician one whom I would trust with my life. In fact I do entrust her with my life every time I take my children to see her. If i could rate this doctor 10 stars i would. I was referred to her by my obgyn when my son was born 5.5 years ago. I was taking my older son to a different pediatrician which i was not at all pleased with. After taking my newborn to her i asked if she could start seeing my older son too. She said yes and that's were it all began. She became our family pediatrician. She requested labs for my older son that same day which is something his other pediatrician wouldn't do when i asked. Luckily Dr. Tanchoco did and within 2 days i had a call from her asking how long my son had suffered from low blood platelets. I had no idea. She quickly made a referral to children's Hospital LA but since appointments for new patients were out 30 days she sent us to City of Hope. Thank GOD. My son was trying out for the football team and if he would have continued he could have been fatally injured without me knowing. It turns out he had thrombocytopenia which if your platelets fall low enough or if you play contact sports and get hit you can bleed to death and not know it. I seriously consider Dr. Tanchoco heaven sent. She is very proactive with both my kids and i couldn't ask for a better doctor. Her staff is also great. They are all very friendly, caring, and knowledgeable. I think this is a great team. I would recommend Dr. Tanchoco and her staff to anyone looking for the most amazing pediatrician they will ever come across. read more

Dr. Tanchoco has been my kids Pediatrician since birth. We (and my kids) absolutely love her. Always make it a point to recommend her to friends and family. You can tell she really cares about my kids well being. Whenever we are there for an office visit, the interaction between us, our kids and Dr. Tanchoco is great! She is very thorough, attentive and will gladly answers any questions or concerns we have. The few times we've had to contact her after hours for emergencies she got back to us right away. Never had any problems other than an issue with a deductible 2-3 years ago where we were overcharged but they quickly looked into it and refunded us. The staff is great too! I get a reminder call for my upcoming appointment and they let me know when the results are back on a previous lab test. No complaints at all ... very satisfied. We are very happy with Dr. Tanchoco and the staff! The best part is not having to wait 1-2hrs in a waiting room to see a doctor!! read more
