We recently brought our newborn to Dr. Michael Madanat for his circumcision and couldn't have asked for a better experience. Dr. madanat is incredibly skilled, gentle, and genuinely sweet. He took his time, answered all our questions, and made us feel completely at ease during what could have been a stressful visit. What stands out most is how warm and caring both Dr. Madanat and the entire staff are. Even though this was only our second visit, we already feel like we've known them forever. Everyone is friendly, attentive, and truly seems to love what they do. We love having Dr. Madanat as our pediatrician and can't wait to keep bringing our son and future children here for years to come right up until he "ages out" of pediatrics! I should've walked away when the receptionist tells me "we need to get something out of it" (referring to charging us for a vaccination only visit) and charged us for a full physical after already having a full physical (in the same calendar year) with another doctor. Quality of service with the actual physician was okay. I'd give that 3-4 stars. However the front desk/ frontline experience you have to go through needs an absolute overhaul. On paper/ online website, it seemed like this would be a great fit. However, in person or anytime I'd come in contact with Foothill Pediatrics it was always a letdown. After they "got theirs" ($$$) from the full physical and we switched over to them (due to previous Dr. closing their office) we attempted to make multiple appointments with them when my children were sick needing medical attention and were either referred to their much further office in Pasadena or after leaving multiple voicemails, never getting any replies whatsoever. Now, after switching to another and much better Dr and staff in our area, I'm getting reminded Text messages from Foothill Pediatrics to schedule an appointment (almost a year later since they never returned all my voicemail calls). Not only that, they keep texting after I replied "STOP" and received an automated confirmation text saying they would stop. Their current desperation for appointments leads me to believe they probably burned too many bridges they could handle (turning away other patients like myself) and are now dealing with the repercussions that comes along with it. Please train your staff to value each patient and respond to incoming voicemails, to not turn away service and answer incoming calls. Also to not treat a person like a dollar sign by using language saying they "need to get something out of the visit". Vaccination visits for my insurance should've been 0 cost with my insurance and an additional full physical could've waited till the next calendar year for 2 fully healthy kids with zero health conditions (just needed vaccines for school).... And as a small FYI; we have top of the line PPO insurance. Good riddance FP read more

10/10 medical staff, 10/10 patient care, 10/10 bedside manner, 10/10 ease of appointments. I moved my kids' care over to Foothill Pediatric after our old pediatric practice was bought out by the dreaded private equity and I'm so glad we found this new practice. We've know been seen for everything from routine physicals to being referred to an allergist and I can't say enough wonderful things about our experience. I love their attention to detail, that they speak to the kids directly thus giving them autonomy over their care and self-reporting, their willingness and ability to see us on very last minute notice, including same day, and how quickly our prescriptions are sent over. I highly recommend this practice for your family, your kids deserve this level of care. read more

I brought my 5yr old daughter here to get her ears pierced after hearing from a family member that this place was wonderful. Knowing my daughter has a fear of needles, we traveled from our of town with hope that this would be the place. The check-in was quick and easy, the environment was extremely clean, and the staff were very professional, caring, and understanding. My daughter really wanted her ears pierced but was extremely (seriously) afraid of the idea of how it is done. Dr. Lana and staff went above and beyond to help us though this challenge. She was so patient through my daughter's crying fights while helping her through her fear/concerns. After we were finally able to get both ears pierced, Dr. Lana and the sweet staff member (sorry I didn't get her name) celebrated with us making us feel so special and that all the work/time spent (we took up way to much of their time) was more than worth it. I cannot recommend this place and the amazing staff enough, nor can I really put into words of how much it meant to us to see that Dr. Lana and staff really care about their patients. We recently moved around the area and were sad to have switched pediatric office from our previous one (who's cared for our son since birth) he's 5 now, so the transition was hard for us until I found this office. Gia Han, NP is super sweet and very considerate of our concerns. She didn't make us feel like she was dismissive of our questions/concerns instead efficiently listened and offered her knowledge and expertise and offered solutions, detailed explanations and acted quick with every request, question etc. When dealing with the front office staff, they too are great. Even the other nurses who do the initial vital sign checks. Everyone is just nice. read more

I agree with other reviewers that this office just cares about the money. I took my baby here for a wellness visit and the doctor said she had dry skin. Turns out that this counted as an extra service, which I was billed for to pay out of pocket. I understand if the consultation took extra time or was to specifically check out her skin, but it seems dishonest to have that fee snuck in there without letting me know ahead of time. Fast forward a few months later, where I took her in and then got charged incorrectly for an "after hours" visit. It was a weekday morning. And if it were after hours, which again doesn't seem like it was the case, they should have told me. But I'm also too busy and stressed to call and fight, so I just paid the fee and clearly won't be coming back. read more

Doctors are beyond awesome here but im so sorry the lady who takes calls never gives you appointment if you need one . She is always like take your kid to urgent care or give tylenol , ibuprofen. Im sorry i need a doctor to tell me that not someone who is taking calls. My son has asthma and Dr Shah strictly told me to tell the person on phone that he has to be seen by Dr Shah but she still doesn't seem to care. read more

He asked a lot of questions to make sure he is where he needs to be, speech, motor skills, etc. I've also had the pleasure to take them in when they have been sick and Dr. Madanat is compassionate, caring and detailed. My son started vomiting at 3 months. He was throwing up ten times a day and we brought him back multiple times. He was then prescribed to do a radiation swallowing test as a baby. We left this doctor shortly after since he was unable to diagnose our son's illness. After 5 years torture we have finally found out he had severe tongue tie. Shortly after he had his surgery we found out he also had Hashimoto's disease. This doctor did not seem concerned about our son. He did not thoroughly look into his tongue tie after he had his initial surgery as a baby and check to see if it sealed together again even though I brought up this concern. For all we know, the radiation from the swallowing test could have cause our son's Hashimoto's disease. Extremely incompetent doctor. read more

I love this place! My young 2 year old lad is in great hands here. All 3 physicians, Dr. George Madanat, his son Dr. Michael Madanat, and Dr. Shah are all very nice and genuine people. We also really love Dr. George's daughter, Nurse Practitioner Lana Madanat! In fact, we try to see Lana every visit, because she is getting to know my son pretty well now. I really like that she sings to him and talks very sweetly to him. Her patience is very high, as one would expect! I read some negative things about the office staff, but I have not had any issue with them. Sometimes when I call, I do have to wait on hold for a while, but this is not a new phenomenon for medical offices, tbh. If NP Lana is not available, then we are totally cool with either of the 3 Doctors on staff. I am glad we started a relationship with these caring people. I also asked NP Lana to recommend me a Primary Physician who had the same values and care as them. Sure enough, I was not disappointed with the recommendation. Took my newborn to this office and was so pleased with their customer service, thorough care and attention to detail. I've never waited over 10 minutes and the care is so personal. Dr Michael Madanat is very welcoming and great with our newborn. He goes over everything he looks for and gives us lots of education or an explanation if we have questions. Every visit I feel like a part of a family of brilliant doctors and NPs who are experts on my kids. They are so busy but there is hardly ever a wait time, and they never rush visits. The front office girl could stand to not discount your concerns when you call, over-the-phone medical advice isn't why parents call for appointments. THAT said, once you're face-to-face it's nothing but warm smiles and welcoming chit chat. It's clean, it's modern, and Ashley, the newer NP to the practice, is such a breath of fresh air to see at visits. All of the providers are great, from the nurse to the NPs, to the father and son physicians. Dra Shah is also a fun guy to take you child in to see. Let's just say my 12 month old son enjoys seeing his Doctor and their staff! That makes it easy when he's there to receive shots. The doctors have great "bed-side" manners and office has that "family" feel. Dr. Michael Madannat takes his time explaining health care to us and makes sure we have questions. I never feel rushed out of there. Plus, It's the only time I allow my sone to eat candy. The rooms are freshly remodelled and has fun murals of animals you children point out. Dr. Michael Madanat, I'd like to first thank you for the quality circumcision you performed on our baby boy last week. However, we are disappointed in your cavaliar disposition when it comes to wearing proper personal protective equipment, especially in a time of heightened risk due to the current COVID-19 pandemic. For the record, we were disappointed and frankly pissed off that on your first visit to the hospital you handled our one day old baby boy by bringing him within three inches of your face without washing or sanitizing your hands. You also did not use gloves or a mask while the protocol for that day at that hospital called for it. Against our natural instincts, we felt forced to take our little boy to your office two days after our initial interaction due to needing a quick follow-up visit. During our visit at the San Dimas clinic, we did not see you or any of your staff wearing protective gear or simply even washing hands although sinks were located in each room. You are exposing vulnerable patients to unnecessary risks through your negligent practice. In addition, we are pretty sure that your exposed chest hair on your low hanging v-neck scrub top is a violation of OSHA standards and guidelines. For the sake of all the children you see, get it together--please. read more

All they care about is the money here. We are cash patients and my daughter was there just a month ago and we paid almost $700 for her 2 month check up which was a huge chunk for us but our daughter doesn't have insurance til January. Both my daughter and I got diagnosed with thrush through my primary doctor yesterday and they told me to contact her pediatrician to write a prescription for her. I called today and they told me I was going to have to pay the in office visit fee which is like $150 just for them to write her a prescription. I have paperwork stating she has thrush and they insisted the only way they could do it is if they seen her. So I have to pay almost $200 just for you to look in her mouth when my doctor already did and I have proof?! I was basically begging them if there was anything we could do because we can't afford a chunk of money like that again so close to her last visit and they refused and said they couldn't wave the fee. I think it's horrible that they had a patient crying on the phone just begging for help this one time and they didn't even care! I had high hopes after our first visit that they seemed pretty genuine but they aren't . A genuine office would have been able to see that we were just in 5 weeks ago and paid almost $700. 10 stars!! Dr. Shah is an extremely knowledgeable, amazing Doctor with more than 30 years experience. He is gentle, loving, and kind. He genuinely cares about his patients. You can call at any time with a question and if he can't come to the phone he always calls you back. Dr. Shah was my doctor when I was a child and now that I have a child of my own I wouldn't go anywhere else. I drive almost an hour each way just to see Dr. Shah.
