Excellent food and service. I remember at one time several years ago this location used to be a Mexican restaurant. Very spacious and large. We started out with their pani puri and they were very good. For the main meal, we ordered their Josh Rogan Josh which was delicious. My wife's favorite was their Shahee paneer, extremely rich though. Lots of food, and lots of leftovers. Surprising that they didn't offer biryani. But all in all a wonderful experience. read more

Easily the best meal we had on our trip to Columbus! The space that they're in clearly had a different function before it was turned into a restaurant. If I had to guess it was either a community center or possibly a church. They've made good use of the space with lots of pleasing artwork and different shades of color and lighting. Our server was polite, but she seemed a bit intimidated at the same time. Perhaps it threw her off a little that I knew exactly what I wanted and was not in the mood for a suggestion. We started with an order of samosas, which were perfect in every way and came with a delicious side of tamarind sauce. The chicken tikka masala was also very well prepared with that wonderful rich red orange color and the sauce that was the right consistency. Fantastic rice and naan bread as well. This is easily the best Indian dining experience I've had in several years. Would hope to come back again someday. read more

I recently discovered that this is the same Aangan that used to be in Worthington. I only visited that location once, but I absolutely loved the food. This newer location is just as fantastic! The restaurant is housed in what used to be a Mexican restaurant. The space is open and airy, with high vaulted ceilings, yet it still feels cozy and inviting. They offer a great selection of craft beers on tap, along with some imports, all at very reasonable prices. For our mains, my wife ordered the lamb jalfrezi, while I had the rogan josh. Both dishes were rich, flavorful, and perfectly spiced. The lamb was incredibly tender, falling apart with each bite. Our side of garlic naan complemented the meal perfectly. I was pleasantly surprised by how affordable everything was--especially considering the exceptional quality of the food. Plus, we had enough leftovers to enjoy for dinner the next day. I highly recommend Aangan--it's easily one of my favorite Indian restaurants in Columbus! read more

This is by far the best Indian food in Columbus. I've been twice now and I cannot say more positive things. The food is incredibly flavorful, the menu is expansive, and the portions are beyond reasonable. Tonight I tried their Dal soup which is now my favorite soup of all time. I ordered a side of naan and I got two massive rounds of it, it was still warm and fresh when I picked up my order. The desserts are just mouth-wateringly good too, you can't go wrong with any of them. All of this AND the servers/managers are such kind people. They are warm, hospitable, and can easily make accommodations or recommendations. Ordered the Kadahi Ginger Chicken and it was amazing! The texture, spices, and sautéed onions paired perfectly with the fluffy, well-cooked rice. I went with a spice level of 3 out of 6 -- just enough to break a little sweat, but it really brought out the flavor. Needed a place in Dublin with nice ambience that could accommodate vegan dining and this seemed to fit the bill. Excited to see a whole menu of items that could be made vegan- yum! Some time after ordering it was brought to our attention that rice is not vegan.They said we could substitute roti for rice free of charge and so we did. Food was good but I am not sure if we will be back. There was a lot of back and forth to clarify with whoever even with a vegan menu and we ended up being charged for the roti. read more

Food 1/5. This is the most tasteless Indian buffet I've been to. Being a North Indian restaurant I was expecting creamy tasty food. None of the food was creamy and everything lacked flavor or spice. Out of about 10 dishes in the buffet, only two had chicken-the chicken curry and tandoori. No other meat options. Service was so so 2/5. Not necessarily friendly. They kept cleaning, which is great, but at the expense of being comfortable to get food because they keep cleaning the containers or at some point no one was on the samosa chaat station because he had to clean. Our first time dining at Aangan India Bistro was a bit of serendipity. We'd been house hunting in the Hilliard area and found it while driving around. Needless to say, we were thoroughly impressed with the authentic menu and the dishes ordered exceeded all expectations! As it turns out, we didn't buy a house in the area, but instead about 35 minutes away. Still, it's worth the drive, and we had dinner there again last night. Our recommendations include the mixed sampler, the paneer chili, the mulligatawny soup, and the vindaloo (I like the lamb but the chicken is excellent too!). There is so much to choose from! Aangan reopened in this new location on December 24, 2023. It's pretty. The service is wonderful. The food is very good, and you choose the level of heat you want from 1-7. We chose level two, and we did not taste any hot heat. We like Indian food, and checked Yelp for a restaurant. This restaurant is large and attractive. The Indian artwork at the entrance is very pretty and unusual. There was a larger group of people behind the half wall on a higher level. A long table was set to the side for a party of eight. Aangan is back baby! The hands-down best Indian food in the Cbus metro is open again at a new location in Hilliard and it's every bit as tasty as I remember. For many foodies here in Columbus Aangan is well known and their seemingly abrupt closing from their Worthington location was, dare I say, tragic! But now that Aangan is back, all is right in the world. But... I'm a little concerned that their current venue won't be their last. You see, Aangan has opened up in an off-the-beaten-path location that, while accessible isn't exactly a place many people find themselves in and the restaurant venue itself needs some work and vision. Of course with a new opening it'll take some time to get settled in but I found the actual dining experience to be a little subpar and disappointing, especially if you get the table closest to the door on a cold evening. Don't let that stop you from dining in, but I wouldn't be surprised if Aangan is a majority take out location by volume here in about 6 months. read more

Took my husband here for his bday--was our first time. He loves Indian food, and used to have a favorite go-to, but they declined in quality. We were hoping this would be a good replacement...and it definitely is! He ordered the chicken vindaloo (#3 heat on scale of 1-6), and I decided on the shrimp tikka misala (#3 as well). We also got naan bread, and order came with rice. Lastly, we chose the mixed sampler for an appetizer. Everything was delicious. The sauce for each entree was scrumptious and the exact heat level we asked for. Everything was super-fresh and high quality! Sampler appetizer plate was wonderful. I have really enjoyed the Aangan Indian Bistro. I bring my friends and even young grandchildren. Everyone loves this great Indian food. It is a beautiful place and the service has always been super. After living in Worthington, Ohio for 7 years - I know that in the entire Columbus area - this is my very best choice for delicious Indian appetizers, main dishes and deserts. Exactly what we were hoping for - the return of the best Indian restaurant we've ever been to! This is the reopening of the Aangan India Bistro that was near 270 and 23 on the north side, and from the first bite it was evident to us that the magic was still there - pakora appetizers that were crispy without being tough, "regular" naan that had plentiful flavor, and mains that had more depth and richness than anything we've been able to get elsewhere. We had the murgh tikka saag and chicken tikka masala, and suffice to say there were no leftovers! The atmosphere was really nice inside as well, with artwork, lighting and music all setting a mood of being a nice sit-down dinner, yet relaxed enough to not feel stuffy.
