We decided to try this place out as we had a costco synergy gift card. It's located in a tiny strip center with Jersey Mikes and Kellys Pub. I called in for the order. We wanted to the Chicken Korma but without raisins (as stated on menu) but girl said there were no raisins in this curry. They were able to also sub white meat with our desired dark meat . Chicken tikka is only white meat so she suggested their butter chicken. Spice level is 1-10 so i requested a 4. Pick up and paying was easy. The small restaurant was empty. The menu looked so familiar so I asked if they were the same as Village Indian in Clairemont which she said yes! The curries were piping hot. They only gave one serving of rice for the curries which seemed odd (or maybe it was supposed to be one container of rice for two curries). Each curry was $18 and marked as Medium spice. The dark meat tasted fantastic. It was hard for me to really taste the difference in the korma curry as it didn't taste of nuts or coconut. Both curries were incredibly savory BUT salty. You had to eat it with the rice (or naan which we will for sure get next time) to cut back the salt. Overall, a great to go meal to eat while watching Sat NFL this evening. read more

Ordered through UberEats because they had 30% off promotion on certain items so it was like $7 off on butter chicken and then like $5 off on pakora. I spent $12 extra on 1 garlic naan and 1 cheese naan. Where I'm from this would be enough for a large Indian meal alone. Of course I did not receive any naan at all, conveniently around the same amount, a little more maybe, than the money I saved w the discounts. Which was the only reason I ordered. Out of principle I will never eat here or order from here again because it seems obvious they methodically scam customers. Genius move to pull on a customer who orders Indian food multiple times a week, scam them over some bread. Nobody answered the phone when we tried to place our order, so we had to use the app instead. My husband ordered and paid for three items through the app, and I drove to the restaurant to pick them up. When I arrived, I noticed the cashier was talking with the kitchen staff and looked at me several times, but never asked my name or confirmed my order. When I received the food, I saw there was a mango lassi included. I assumed it came with the lunch special, so I left. After I got home, I realized the lamb biryani was missing. I tried calling the restaurant, but once again, nobody answered the phone. I drove all the way back to the restaurant. When I arrived, the cashier told me the name of lamb biryani on their computer was different from the one on my order, so she didn't know what to prepare. Instead of asking me, the staff just gave me mango lassi instead of the $19.00 I paid for lamb biryani as if a mango lassi was a fair equivalent. If the restaurant's computer system was having problems, the cashier could have simply asked me to verify my order before handing me the food. Instead, they made an intentional wrong decision, which forced me to make an unnecessary second trip to the restaurant. This experience was frustrating and could have been easily avoided with better communication and customer service. read more

Food is decent and (was) one of my goto places for takeout curry. However there has been a recent change of policy where they will only provide a tiny portion of rice with the curry ordered. In a recent online order I had 6 curry dishes but they only put a single small portion of rice for the entire order. I thought they simply made a mistake so I returned to ask for the missing rice only to be told about the new policy of only providing this comically small portion of rice. Infuriatingly their menu, both in store and online still states "All dishes served with plain basmati rice" - while technically correct the portion is woefully inadequate and you will need to order additional rice if you actually want any rice with your meal. What I don't understand is why make this business decision? I make's no sense. Either keep the rice portion the same and charge more. Or make it crystal clear that you need to order rice with curry. So guys, you've lost me as a customer. I will be reluctantly looking for an alternative restaurant for my Indian food orders in the future. Shame. read more

Not sure what it is a piece of, but it ruined my experience and I'm concerned that there may have been smaller pieces I missed and already ingested. I have been ordering takeout from here for years. I have tried many other Indian restaurants for takeout, but I think the best balance of taste and value is this restaurant. Unlike many other Indian restaurants in the area, rice is included with the curry entree. The size of the entree is generous, and the ratio of meat to sauce is high. We always order the butter chicken ($17) & chicken tikka masala ($17). I am never sure which is which, but both are so delicious and flavorful. Historically, I have ordered the cheese naan, onion naan, and garlic naan. They are all savory decadent treats (I am drooling just remembering the cheese naan), but with inflation raising the prices of the curry (not just here but everywhere), we have stopped ordering the naans to stay within our takeout budget. Parking is a free shared lot. It is sometimes quite full during weekday dinner hours, but I am always able to find a spot to quickly dash in and grab the food. We just moved to 4S ranch area. This is the closest Indian restaurant for us. My kid loves Indian curry so I ordered takeout a couple of times from this place. The portion is great and the curry was delicious. It came with basmati rice. I wish I can substitute it for nann. I paid extra $4 for nann but one side was always burnt. Service is quick. While food is good many times but if it is spoiled atleast they should have courtesy to say sorry instead of arguing. Unfortunately this place seems to have gone downhill a bit. I'm not sure if it just changed ownership but I didn't see the person who I usually see in there who I think was the owner. The naan breads did not have as much garlic and oil on them as they usually do. The curries were not as flavorful in terms of spices as they usually are, and the mango last sees now taste like they've put Sprite or some sort of soft drink or soda in them maybe to add sweetness and sugar. It has a bad aftertaste. It's too bad. We will probably go to naturally Desi down the street from now on. read more

Since my use to go Indian restaurant decided to add cumin to all the dishes in excessive quantities I decided to try this one. The place is located is a small plaza with plenty if parking, we ordered to go. We have tried it at le3 times and the dishes include rice, the first time the rice was very bland and the last time they added cumin seeds to it which I didn't enjoy, what is wrong with the USA Indian restaurants that insist on adding cumin to everything, it is such an overpowering spice that takes over any flavor if not used lightly unless you are specifically ask for a cumin dish. The service portions were huge - this meal lasted me a couple servings. The garlic naan was so delicious - not too crunchy, but cooked very well. The malai kofta was also very good.
