    We stumbled across Tangerine Events on Yelp and it was honestly the best decision we made for our wedding day. From start to finish our coordinators Christina and Jamie were incredible. I did not have one single meltdown because of them!! I worked with Christina closely via google meetings months prior and I felt like we made such a great team. She really had my back and it brings my heart so much joy to have had the privilege to work with her. I recall waiting in the bridal suite before walking down the aisle, not having a clue about what was happening. I was anxious but I truly trusted my team. They did not text me once!! They took initiative with every detail. I cannot express how grateful I am that they somehow saw my vision without me even properly communicating it. From the church ceremony to the restaurant reception, I was blown away how smooth things went. They stuck to our timeline, made sure our guests were comfortable...they even decorated my cake!! OMG I honestly cannot stop say thank you enough to Christina and Jamie. Please do yourself a huge favor and book them for your special day. They are priceless...so much so I jokingly told them to hire me haha! But no really, please do because I just so loved working with you guys!! From the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU!!

    My husband and I planned our wedding in San Diego while we were living in New York, so we needed all the help we could get!! I had a friend who recommended Tangerine Event Planning & Design and I'm so, so glad we went forward with them. Both Cat and Tina displayed utmost professionalism and went above and beyond our expectation. Their personality and friendliness is so awesome that I hope we can hang out whenever we come back to SoCal :) We were definitely on a budget but they were so willing to work with us, especially when it came down to making financial decisions. They were always supportive and really protected AND executed our vision for the wedding. For sure we both stressed out the day of the wedding but Cat swooped right in and said "are you taking my job?? Don't worry, we GOT you!" They were blessed words from heaven, even if she had to remind the both of us multiple times because of how stressed we were! Tina is amazingly talented. She knew exactly what I wanted in terms of the feel and design of our reception. I knew that the once the day started, I didn't have to worry a single thing about any of the details I wanted! I was just so excited to see the place. We had this really cool loft in downtown SD and she converted it to this rustic, chic, simplistic dream. It was better than I imagined it. We highly recommend this dream team for your wedding!

    My husband and I worked with Christina for my wedding and she went above and beyond to make our wedding day so perfect and enjoyable. She made the entire planning process easy and FUN and we will always talk about it with a smile on our faces. Christina's creativity, passion, resourcefulness, and preparedness are more than we could have ever asked for in a coordinator. We trusted her 100% with recommendations for the best vendors and to set up and decorate the ceremony and reception. She's worked on a wide range of different types of weddings and events, which made me feel so at ease with her expertise. She did a lot of behind-the-scenes work for us like decorating our beautiful sweetheart table, arranging centerpieces and floral decor, decorating our cake with flowers, set up a perfectly decorated sign-in table-- her work is phenomenal. I especially appreciated how she remembered to bring our wedding invitation and ribbon for detail shots, which totally slipped my mind. Now, I'll have beautiful pictures for a lifetime thanks to her attention to detail. We were both able to enjoy the night because we knew that Tangerine was so on top of everything. She arrived at the hotel super early and was literally the last to leave because she helped clean up and tie up loose ends. Christina is SO talented and we consider ourselves so lucky to have had her so involved in our wedding.

    Tangerine Event has the best service we could ever ask for. We would give them 10 stars if we could! I have known Christina before Tangerine Events. She is the most creative and crafty friend that I've ever met. When Jonathan, my husband, and I was planning for our wedding, I went to Christina for some advise since she had her beautiful wedding not too long ago. Christina did not hesitate to help me (I didn't even know she is a wedding planner at this point). Since Jonathan and I was pretty much know what we wanted for our wedding, we didn't think we would need to hire a wedding planner. However, knowing that we will have a full schedule on our wedding day with Vietnamese tea ceremony in the morning, then church ceremony in the afternoon and finally the reception, we would need a day of wedding coordinator to keep the day go smoothly. Jonathan and I had talked to a few wedding coordinators but we were not that impressed about them. Later on, we found out that Christina is doing event planning and right after our first consultation, we were so excited to hire Tangerine Events as our day of coordinators. Besides countless emails and text messages between myself and Christina, we met up 4 times - 2 months, 1 months, 2 weeks and 1 weeks prior the wedding and every time Christina went over our timeline and check list of things need to be done. When I got distracted with many pretty things I saw on Pinterest, she would help me prioritize things need to be done first. I also thought it would be nice to have streamers exit after our church ceremony and also sparklers exit at the end of our wedding reception (on top of our full day schedule) but I was not sure if it was doable. But Christina and Matt was very good on keeping track of on our schedule and they made both of the events happened. Christina was very flexible and also very easy to communicate with. I would send her pictures of things or ask her about the details regarding the wedding and she would be very honest about her opinions which I so much appreciated. Christina also gave me a lot of great ideas on how to decorate our venue. Christina even went with me to meet up with our florist which I don't think it's a requirement on our contract. She also set up our dessert table which our guests were so much in love with. And when we had our final walk-through, Christina would remind me to discuss the details that we had previously planned to our vendors. Jonathan and I mentally prepared ourselves that if something would not go the way we want on the day of, we should be ok with it and move on. But Christina and Matt made sure nothing could go wrong on our big day. They had confirmed and sent out reminders not only to us but to all of our vendors and bridal party. Our wedding happened even more perfect than we could dream of. We were 100% stress-free on our wedding day. Our parents were so proud of us. Our guests were very happy and impressed with our wedding to the details (even our most difficult guests were pleased!). Everyone had a wonderful time! Matt and Christina were so professional and they went above and beyond for us. We had them as day of coordinators but they were more like our wedding planners. Christina made wedding planning so fun and easy. If we'll have any party in the future, we will hire Tangerine Events again. Thank you Tangerine Events for your hard work. Our guests absolutely loved how unique the space was. With a guest count of 200, we felt that the reception hall was perfectly fitted; not too big and not too cramped either. 200 was too big to fit inside the ceremony hall, which was our one and only complaint. But, guests who sat outside mostly said their view was okay/clear. *Lily was a superstar. She truly took care of us and was on top of everything. Numerous guests noted that this was the most organized and well-running wedding they had ever been to, which was all due to Lily running the show. I would recommend having Lily as your coordinator 1000x over. *Bang for your buck. This was the first venue we toured, and after hearing the price and what was included there was absolutely question in our mind to book it. I was getting the same quote for ~80-100 guests that I did for 200 here. It was priceless being able to include as many guests while not having to compromise on other factors because they were all included in our package. We also LOVED the grooms suite. So many times the groom is left in the dust but this space was perfect and the guys really enjoyed it. The entire team, Rose and her son, our waitstaff, DJ Larry, and Lily were truly amazing to work with. We would choose the vintage rose for any of our future events!

Although…read moreHeather communicated very well, there were a couple of incidents that I found slightly unprofessional: 1. I signed a contract with one of her staff as my wedding planner. Unfortunately, from my understanding, there were unexpected changes in the company, so Heather had to take over. However, Heather responded that she would make an exception for me and not charge me an additional $1000 for this change. With all due respect, I should not be financially penalized for changes that an owner experiences; especially since I already signed the contract that I financially agreed to. 2. I encountered a lot of life changes that disrupted my ability to move forward with a wedding that my brothers were supposed to be in. For instance, I had a depressed, suicidal brother, I had another brother leave for Japan for the Marines, and I had an uncle pass away. All vendors except for Heather were so kind to fully refund my deposits due to the situation. Unfortunately, Heather responded that she was still a businesswoman and was financially hurting, so she was in no place to offer a full refund. I basically paid Heather almost $500 to establish a simple contract. I already had all the vendors in place and organized, so this deposit was for nothing. Heather should not be held responsible for unexpected circumstances, but this wedding meant a lot to me. As a business owner, you should be able to compromise with your clients based on their situation. I could have easily used that deposit to help my family for the funeral. I find this situation absurd because I never wanted a wedding planner to begin with. Our wedding list was only 32 guests, but my fiancé insisted that we hire a planner because he did not want me to stress out. I admire him for caring, but this wedding was going to be a private and intimate event with very little management. I blame myself for hiring a wedding planner when I did not need one. It is unfortunate that Heather was thinking like a businesswoman and not a human being with empathy. Nonetheless, please make sure to ask about the refund policy for emergencies such as death, health, etc. Two stars are for her communication, but I can only evaluate Heather based on my experience with her before the wedding date. Therefore, I am unable to provide feedback for her day service since my wedding never happened. Has it ever occurred to you, Heather, that you had not heard from me in a year because I was busy dealing with other important things like planning a funeral? My wedding was the last thing on my mind. Also, I was not complaining about the charge that never happened, I am complaining about your response to your changes. There was no need to comment on that you are more expensive and won't be charging me. We could have proceeded forward with whatever it was we were doing. You contacted ONE venue and that is because they had YOU sign a contract with them. FYI, my pre-engagement photos were scheduled with the photographer I hired for my wedding and I was still refunded the full amount. This vendor did not work for free either and still managed to prioritize customer service over money. You are a business owner and have the liberty to do as you please, but you must have needed the money more than I did, so I hope my contributions helped your business. Nonetheless, well done on your communication. If you have a family member with a life-threatening illness or you have a medical condition that may require potential hospitalization, please do not hire Heather as your wedding planner as she will not refund you the deposit because not make exceptions for your situation simply because she does not "work for free." Fast forward 5 years I had met Matt(my now husband) and we were moving into together. I was cleaning my room at my parents house and came across Natalie's card and put it in my purse. 3 months later, Matt proposed on a Saturday and the following Monday I called Natalie and booked her. First and foremost, Natalie is an angel on this planet. Wedding planning is so stressful and I never had to worry about a single thing, she went above and beyond to make sure I was not stressed and happy. She is more than just our wedding planner and over the 3 years we planned my wedding (thanks covid...), she became my friend and someone who I adore Second, when going down this road, I think trusting your planner/wedding team is extremely important to make sure the process is seamless and smooth. You can tell she really cares about what she does and wants the day to go well for you. Having her there made a huge difference. The venue itself is beautiful. Driving in through the vine-covered entrance and seeing the Victorian house and gardens immediately sets the tone. It already has so much character that you don't need a ton of extra decor to make it look great, which our photographer loved because there were so many photo spots around the property. Everything on the venue flows really well too. Ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception are all close together so guests never felt like they had to wander around trying to figure out where to go next. The bridal and groom suites were also really nice and gave us a place to relax and get ready before everything started. The staff were professional, organized, and kept everything moving smoothly throughout the day which helped take a lot of pressure off us. We also liked that the venue allowed some flexibility with vendors and personalization so the wedding still felt unique to us. But Abby nailed it of course, her design sense is unreal. From color palettes and floral choices to the way she tied together modern décor with cultural elements, everything was cohesive and elevated. She has an incredible eye for detail and always found creative, out-of-the-box ways to make our ideas work. The end result was a wedding that felt truly felt like us! Communication: Throughout the entire process, Abby and her team were consistently on top of communication. She kept us updated between meetings, sent friendly reminders, and made sure we were always aligned on next steps. It's easy for things to slip through the cracks when planning something this big, but Abby kept everything organized and stress-free.     So happy we booked Heather for WTW's month-of package. We were actually looking for a day-of…read morecoordinator but after speaking with Heather, we realized that month-of would be more beneficial especially with vendor logistic/timing (plus WTW prices were reasonable). Heather saw us 2x before the big day: final venue walk through and our rehearsal day. She was super organized during those 2 days and helped guide us with our venue and corral our entire wedding party during the rehearsal. Heather also provided us with a day-of timeline, even for the hours she was not physically at the venue. On the wedding day, she arrived with Annaleise (team member) around 3pm and immediately got to work with the decor set up before our 6pm ceremony. All we had to do was hand over our room key and off they went! To be honest, we were so busy that day that if we didn't have Heather helping us out, I'm not sure how we could've accomplished what we needed to do. No amount of uncles and aunties could've done what WTW did in the same amount of time hah. Plus we had a cocktail hour "flip" during our ceremony, so having WTW help us during that time was crucial. At the end of the night, all our items were returned to vendors or packed away in the boxes we brought them in and stored in our room. During the month of, WTW used Google's suite to keep everything organized and documented, which I found very helpful since its a program that I am familiar with (vs learning a new program). And Heather also provides some rentals if you want to add more to your decor, which was also VERY helpful when we needed more candles and stands. Heather is professional, calm, and assertive. She knows what needs to be done to help make your day run smoothly and is a team player with the vendors and venue. For reference, our wedding was in Riverside, a church ceremony, 8 people in the wedding party, 120 guests, ~10 vendors, plated meals, and a hotel venue reception. We had a couple funky additions in the night which made the reception feel nontraditional, but Heather handled them like it was normal. We haven't received official pictures yet, but when we do, I hope to update this review so any new potential clients can see her magic. Thanks again!!
