For me, more oil does not mean more flavor; it means more slime. Was having a LOVELY quiet little lunch for one, in the restaurant which was slowing down to close. 85% of the tables were empty. The host made the choice to sit two people on a "let's get to know each other" work date, at the table right next to me. PLENTY of empty tables in the joint. One table over would have been amazing. Tangerine is a cute spot in a great location right on Main St. The inside feels bright and new. Definitely not the "old diner" vibe a lot of other breakfast spots seem to exhibit. My family and I went on a Friday morning around 10am and were seated immediately without a wait. The food was just okay. Our group ordered the Eggs Your Way (with Bacon), Full English Breakfast, Corned Beef Hash, and the Tangerine Breakfast Combo. The Eggs Your Way and Tangerine Breakfast Combo are pretty standard breakfast restaurant offerings. Eggs, Meat, Potatoes, Toast. Decent and did their job. The Full English Breakfast wasn't great. The person who ordered it said it was unseasoned and unimpressive. We've had a Full English in the UK - and this is no where near the real deal. I ordered the Corned Beef Hash. It was ok. Flavor-wise, it was seasoned well. However, the corned beef was cut into large cubes. Approximately the same size as a breakfast potato. I wasn't a fan of this rendition. I prefer when it's finely chopped or shredded. This version didn't really feel like a hash. Definitely got the impression this place is hit or miss. The ambience is cute. A lot of breakfast spots have a similar aesthetic these days and this was in line with that, but it was still inviting and clean. The food was beautiful. My mom ordered the bacon and avocado Benedict. It looked great and she enjoyed it. I ordered the Tangerine Combo with the pear French toast. It sounded amazing on the menu and was very pretty when it arrived, but unfortunately it wasn't my favorite. The bacon and home fries were overcooked, and both the home fries and eggs were bland. The French toast itself was okay and served warm-ish, but what really threw it off was the pear sauce. It was cold, very cold. I understand food safety considerations, but the cold sauce brought the entire dish down in temperature. It made the toast cold, and the cinnamon butter on the side couldn't melt even if I could add it-not really sure how I would have added it with the sauce. I had expected something more like warm, caramelized pears rather than a pear version of apple sauce. To be fair, the menu description wasn't very detailed, and I didn't ask clarifying questions. I made an assumption about how it would be served, so I take ownership of that. I ended up just eating half of it, as I'm not someone who typically sends food back or makes a fuss having worked in the industry myself before. The part that really impacted our experience was the service at the end. My mom noticed I wasn't thrilled with my dish and quietly tried to share feedback with the waitress. We weren't asking for anything to be comped or replaced. She simply wanted to pass along the feedback. Unfortunately, the waitress repeatedly interrupted her and seemed more focused on fixing a "problem" than listening. My mom couldn't get even a few words in. The waitress was very defensive and I'd say a little aggressive in her communication. When my mom softly suggested she calm down because she wouldn't let her speak, the waitress responded loudly, "Did you just tell me to calm down?" We paid and left shortly after. It was disappointing because the atmosphere was pleasant and my mom enjoyed her meal. I may have been more understanding if the restaurant was busy, but there were fewer than six tables occupied and several servers on the floor preparing for the morning rush that would start in a few hours. First and last visit. Initially sat up front but we were swarmed by flies. There's nothing about breakfast that ever warrants a $60 bill (with tip) for 2 people. There was zero mention of up charges for vegan eggs, hazelnut flavor, or soy milk. All of those add up. Tack on a surcharge plus tip and it was $60. Was at this establishment regularly for a few months, and had ordered out a bunch from the branch in Boulder years ago. On my most recent visit they decided that since I was tipping less than the recommended amount, they snuck a 6+ person gratuity charge on the bill, when I normally dine out alone. When I asked about it they claimed that they are doing this because I didn't tip enough. Even if a restaurant has great food, if any of their wait staff decides to do this conduct, I cannot trust the establishment with their money. If you do not like a customers' conduct such as not giving enough tips *please* talk with them directly about it. Don't try to violate my trust by adding fraudulent charges to my bill. I am writing this review to advise visitors to be on their guard, and to alert any business owners that are unaware of this conduct in their wait staff. read more

I have been to Tangerine a couple times - a few times for brunch when it first opened years ago, and this past week for lunch. There's a reason I don't go regularly, but it's a reliable spot for what it does well and prices are reasonable enough to visit regularly if you wanted. It's a cute little space with lots of small tables, which is nice because it feels intimate (it's also a small space and well used in this way). They have good sound deadening so it's not particularly loud even when full. The food is pretty good. I ordered the portobello sandwich this past time and it was incredibly tiny looking; not a lot of food for the price. It's served on sliced bread and is just puny! Sounds great on the menu, but boy do I wish I'd taken a picture. Could have been a PB&J. The fries were soggy like they hadn't been prepped properly (they should be twice cooked when fresh cut), but they were fresh cut so I'll give that to them. My sister ordered a side pancake and it is a legit pancake! It took up an entire 12" plate. She also ordered an egg dish and they were cooked well. I recall previous visits enjoying how well the eggs were cooked as well. They are definitely a brunch and breakfast spot, and I likely won't order from the lunch menu again (or I'll look around the room first to see if any other sandwiches look as weenie as my bello). Service pace is decent. We were touched frequently and water did not run out. A little slow when it was time for the check but that's alright. Love Tangerine Longmont. Friendly staff and consistently tasty food make it our place to walk to for breakfast or brunch. Occasionally the kitchen gets overwhelmed and they pause on seating more people until they get caught up. Could be a bummer if you have plans to go somewhere, but I haven't been stuck in that position yet. Been there about 6 times and the kitchen hold happened twice. 5/5 experience when I came by this morning for some food! Very filling as well and have to say the service was fast and polite entire time as well. Even though it was crowded and there was a wait, I was seated within 20 minutes & served my food around same wait time. Very clean and there is a lot of parking that is 2 hours out front of the restaurant (parallel parking) but very convenient to get to and a cute small town to go exploring after eating! Cute restaurant, reminds me of snooze eatery. Lots of breakfast and lunch options. They are only open until 2 on Saturday, luckily we got there about 12:30 and only had a 15 min wait. The dirty chai was my favorite, they make a good chai. I had the chicken and waffles, it comes with cinnamon butter, oh so good. The chicken is breaded just enough and very crispy. Omg - mouthwatering! This is the cutest spot, right on the main drag in Longmont. The coffee is strong (like I like!) and the food is delicious- I ordered from the daily specials menu and got the best Indian tacos. I would have look more forward to trying something from their breakfast menu but I had already eaten breakfast earlier in the day so my tastebuds were not exactly looking to eat more breakfast-type items. I ended up ordering their 3-cheese grilled cheese sandwich which comes with fries. I realize how incredibly stupid this given it's just grilled cheese but it was the only thing I was interested in on their menu at that point in the day. Their price points are pretty high. I mean, now we've reached the point with every unique, hipster-type restaurant, where grilled cheese is way overpriced anyway. But I do think for what the vibe of the place is and that it's in fact breakfast you are paying for some form of a hipper breakfast that isn't exactly the case. The restaurant was clean and the staff did a fine job as well. Ultimately, it was a fine enough experience from a food and environment standpoint but there are just so many breakfast options out there that I'm not sure I would necessarily find myself wanting to return to Tangerine. read more

Received attentive and friendly service from a wide variety of waitresses, who encouraged me to fill out a suggestion card. What you are serving is called "SALSA," and is nothing like green chili except the color. Third: The description of "Smothered" does not mean a couple of tablespoons topping the Sausage Burrito. Again, Google for definition. Finally, "Sausage burrito" implies the MAIN ingredient is Sausage! The sausage in my burrito was barely present. Brunch has become one of those things where you wait in a huge line, order some meal that sounds fancy but turns out to be something you could have made yourself, and pay a price that's close to a nice dinner. Luckily, Tangerine breaks that habit! The food tasted fantastic. We had veggie hash and a Reuben burrito. Both were amazing and I highly recommend! Not only that but the prices were well below what typical denver brunches are now (why does avocado toast cost $14 in Denver?!?). Solid sister restaurant to the location in Boulder. So happy to have another good breakfast place in Longmont since our favorite Motherlode closed. I tried the chilaquiles, and it was just ok. Kind of small portions and the chips didn't seem fresh. The sauce wasn't especially flavorful. I definitely won't order this again but I do so love the veggie Benedict with their pesto. I tried the turmeric latte and that was a unique drink. I really enjoyed it and I'm glad its part of their menu. My husband got the corned beef hash and had several large fatty pieces he could not eat. He likes the flavors of that dish tho so he was happy. They have a decent kids menu. No crayons for kids at all tho, but they have two boxes of toys in the waiting area The booths are right up in each others business. The tables are spaces out more. Parking is on the street or behind off Coffman. The service was good, they know their menu and are trained nicely! Definitely recommend as an alternative to Le Peep or First Watch. I agree with a lot of the other reviewers - both good and bad. My 2 experiences have been mixed. I agree with the vibe of the place and the staff is very pleasant. I see in reviews people like their Huevos Rancheros. I don't care for a crispy tortilla under the eggs. The rest of the plate was a pretty bland collection of food although my eggs were cooked perfectly. Latte was pretty looking and tasted okay but small-ish for the price. My wife's steak and eggs were not very good and she couldn't make her way through the fat of the "hanger" steak. Flavor was okay but almost a hint of over aging (or was it spoiled meat)? Potatoes are either overcooked or not cooked enough. Tomatillo sauce included in a cup - meh. My biggest pet peeves: 1. Check dropped off so early that it was insulting. We had more than half our food on our plates. There was no waiting for a table since we came during the week around 11 AM. I guess it was because there was only 1 server handling everyone. They use expediters to get food to your table so she wasn't bringing our food. 2. They're still charging 4% kitchen fee. I get that kitchen staff is typically underpaid but this place charges upscale breakfast prices. Our ticket was over $40 without tip so $48 with tip. For this type of breakfast, no thanks. Bad day at Tangerine. Friday January 10 at 10:30 am. Table of two for brunch. Once we ordered a few tables came in after we did and promptly received their food, and it had been more than twenty minutes since we ordered. Our server never touched our table again even after we tried getting her attention. eventually a man in a hoodie came by to tell us our food would be ready soon. Hoodie returned a few minutes later to inform us of a problem with the chicken sandwich ordered. He said it was their fault of the mix up plus was taking well over thirty minutes and he would take care of the bill. He returned a few minutes later with my Reuben sandwich stating that the chicken wasn't ready but did not want Rueben to get cold. My Rueben had obviously been made and sitting under heat lamps for too long already. Chicken sandwich finally arrives and was nice and fresh and hot with crispy potatoes. Totally opposite of the Rueben. I was charged for two coffees and a shitty Reuben sandwich. $27. Unacceptable! read more

Tangerine is a great place for brunch or lunch. My favorite dish is the Turkey Brie Eggs Benedict. The staff is delightful. The place is full of college and high school age staffers that are working hard to pay their bills and bring you a good breakfast. Full bar if you are looking for a mimosa or a latte to go with your brunch. Bright trendy atmosphere that is inclusive for all. My favorite employees are Jack, Riley, and Vivian. They are working hard to get your order to you right and take care of you while you are enjoying your morning out in downtown Longmont.
