We ordered the 3 empanadas with chimichuri. We chose the traditional beef, spinach & cheese, and grilled eggplant. The chimichurri sauce was an additional $2, it had a nice vinegar-forward flavor that complemented all the empanada fillings. An individual empanada is $6. Our only small complaint was that the chimichurri was served in small a paper cup, which tipped over a bit too easily when we dipped. So it would probably be better to pour it into the empanada instead. The service was good. They mentioned it would be a 5-minute wait for our food, but it ended up taking closer to 15 minutes. The food came out hot and crispy, so it was worth it. Also good to mention that there are two tables with umbrellas in front of the food cart to sit but there are plenty of other tables in the area.

Sarah was really wonderful and super kind. This is my first time here so she made it really easy and giving great recommendations. We did the beef empanada to keep it simple but added chimichurri sauce empanada was filled and super yummy.

AMAZING!! The beef and chicken were SO good! The owners were so kind!!! The atmosphere was so nice and located right across from Ala moana. A must try!

The empanadas here are quite thick and tasty. The chimichurri sauce is awesome. I had the 3 empenada set (1 spinach, 1 pork, and 1 Argentinian beef).

But that have many more options

I decided to stop by and try this Argentinian dish. I had it while in Argentina years ago and wanted to remember that flavor. I stopped and spoke to both sister and brother team and their cute dog. I waited a little bit for the oil to get hot enough to fry the empanadas so in the meantime I was able to talk to them. They are from Argentina so excellent for me to have something so originally from the source! I also noticed that they sell dessert with delicious dulce de leche in between. So I grabbed that too! I bought the beef ones after was recommended to have those. They were fried beautifully and it didn't take that long. My wait was pleasantly shortened by petting their friendly dog :) Once I got them, I took them home and ate them at home. The crunch was excellent and it was still warm inside. The flavor was tasty, but maybe a bit less strong than what I tasted in Argentina. I mean, these recipes must be like all recipes where your family makes it one way and another makes it differently. In the end the empanadas are always empanadas but they taste different depending on who makes it. They were tasty but I think I would have preferred a bit more herbal punch. I have to ask again if the outside of empanadas are usually made with masa instead of a flour mixture. This too was different from what I tried. Don't get me wrong, it was tasty nonetheless. The three little desserts were sweet and the dulce de leche from Argentina is so delicious. I had one with coffee but I kept the other two in the refrigerator since my palate doesn't favor too sweet desserts. I wanted to try them and see for myself since I never tried them before. Please go and support this little business for they have all different flavors and I will go back and try more! They are filling and different so it was good to change my regular same foods that I buy at market.

Absolutely amazing empanadas! We ordered the traditional beef, pork, and spinach and cheese... so much flavor! We've been looking for a great Argentinian empanada spot since we tried it in Vegas! Next time we come we will make the drive just to see Co and get her yummy food

This little food truck off the side of the road packs a punch with flavor and portion!!!!! We got the combo of 3 empanadas, fries + chimichurri sauce and it was BOMB. It was literally the perfect meal before going to the beach. Julie was very sweet & kind! We also got their sugar cane drink with a splash of lemon & it was delicious!!! If you're on the fence, give it a try. You won't be disappointed!

Traditional Beef and Cheese & Spinach Empanadas

No way I'm the first review! I saw the truck in passing one day and wasn't able to go, but today they were in Waialua again! I got the traditional beef and the cheese & spinach empanada. You get 2 for $10. Nice flaky and hot dough. They came paired with what I believe was a chimichurri sauce. I DUNKED the empanadas in it. They were flavorful and really delicious. Lucas was the person who served me and he was very kind! It was very quick service. In all, I enjoyed my first visit and will be there again when I'm in the mood for a snack. Give it a try! *The wagon was located across the street from the baseball field near the intersection.

She's also from Argentina originally, so they were the same type. The prices are the same, but they did adjust the discount structure a little. They used to offer either a discount, or a free empanada when ordering a certain quantity, but apparently no longer (understandable). They also used to provide a free serving of their amazing chimichurri with a quantity order as well, but either they forgot, or they discontinued that practice as well; and unfortunately, I forgot to check my box and order one before I left. They seem to be doing well, because several items were sold out, but they do have a wide variety, and there are enough choices to satisfy any tastes. I really must remember to come more often.

Restrooms: shared with other businesses located behind the alley. Cost : $6-$8 per empanada Food: if you're looking for a traditional empanada this is not the place to go. With that being said, we have been to a few modernized empanada shops on the mainland so we were excited to try this spot. We found the dough to be softer than what we're use to from both Mexican & Colombian empanadas. The dough on one side was soggy while the other side was slightly more cooked. We got the ossobuco & corn empanada and while the filling was good, it wasn't anything special.

It's so hard to miss this vibrant truck with the cute smiling Arepas flashing a Shaka holding a Venezuela flag, and this newbie is the one to find as you must follow them on Instagram @arepas_hawaii and view their stories for locations feels like an exclusive secret spot. Well I found them in Kaka'ako right beside Milky Way Truck right along side Mother Waldron Park and yes it piqued my curiosity and though I do see on their instagram with menu items including empanadas as well though today it seems to be a selected Arepas seven varieties to be exact (Pollo, Pernil, Carne Asada, Spam, Pabellon and Vegetariana). Arepas are ground corn patties grilled and typically are enjoyed like bread are stuff with various fillings and my Pollo (shredded chicken) was stuffed beyond belief along with queso cheese was so enormous she apologize as it was impossible to close the container lol! The chicken was very moist and flavorful not spicy or loaded with sauce though it's standardly comes with cheese you're able to pile on the toppings by adding extras like more cheese or four types of salsa for +$2...oh my gosh what a fun and generous portions she serves here...it's all love! Thank you!

Was going to order an empanada, 2 drinks and arepa but they said $38. Paid $20 for 2 drinks and 1 empanada instead. Boy o boy did I regret it! $3 for each bottle water?! So that makes the empanada $14?!....lets talk about it! I understand your an arepa truck. But this empanada seems like is made with the same dough as the arepa but just fried. It was so gross and mushy. On top of it the price that was crossed off said $7 under it. I figure, maybe price change is like....$8/$9. Sheesh $14? That's a big difference. Basically paid double. Wasn't even worth it. It was so gross and lacked any flavor. Took me 3 bites to get into the center where the meat filling was. First and last time I'll be eating here!
