Ordered the BBQ burger to be delivered over to MoCo brewery across the street. Arrived fresh and hot. The burger was delicious and I did order a side of tomato jam, which was really good. This sweet potato fries were on fleek! It was delivered hot & fresh by a friendly Tanner rep. Really enjoyed! read more

A new owner has recently taken over, so we stopped in to try the updated breakfast menu. Delicious, ample food (potatoes, grits AND a biscuit with our bacon and eggs - yum!) was served promptly. The building is historic and the dining room is charming. We are eager to return soon and try other new items. read more

This place was packed, but I'd say they could seat about 50 to 60 people probably. There.was.no wait and the service was really good. My wife had the BBq burger and fries and I ordered the chicken salad sandwich and a side salad. I didn't get photos of the food because it was so good I forgot all about needing those for my review. The side salad was huge and get this....not only did it have delicious bacon (real bacon!) on it, but there was not a single piece of bad lettuce. Not a brown spot, not a crusty brown end, nothing- which is pretty rare these days anywhere you go. Every single piece of lettuce, bacon, cheese and tomato was fantastically fresh! The burger was made with good beef and was loaded up with cheese slices and bacon and the cheese was actually melted. The chicken salad was amazing - it was cold,.fresh, with tiny little pieces of yellow bell pepper. The owner came.over and talked with us for a bit and when asked, said that the chicken salad was his wife's own recipe. He told us that today was the end of their first six weeks as the new owner and we told him that Tanners and Wartburg were very lucky that he and his wife took over.we didn't get his name, but maybe when we go back....because we will absolutely be back!!! They have done an amazing job renovating the old building and brining Tanners back to its glory days! read more

Really nice find! I always look for these little lunch spots on the square in small towns. This one is a perfect example. Run by women who have good chicken salad, chili, and ice cream specialties. Don't trust the posted hours. Phone ahead before going as their hours have been erratic recently. Twice we have driven an hour to get there, when Yelp (and the sign in the window) said they were open, but they weren't. Anyone phones in sick and they close apparently. read more

We had lunch there today after hiking nearby at Frozen Head park. Great local cafe . We had cheeseburger and fries, pimento cheese sandwich and frito pie and everyone was pleased. The prices are great. Wait time for food very reasonable. Would definitely return. read more

Quaint little restaurant with a few pluses and minuses. Milkshakes were authentic and creamy. Ham and cheese panini was okay and nothing to write about. Fresh baked dessert cabinet was completely empty. Although pecan pie was available per a waitress. Soups were homemade. A plus. Chicken salad sandwich seemed to please my cohorts. Baked potato salad tasted store bought. It was. Service on a Friday afternoon could have been better. Maybe we just hit an off day. I honestly hope so. A beautiful historic cafe we found after a long day of driving. Everything about this place reminds me back in the day. The food is delicious and their dessert are heaven!! Staff members was friendly and nice!! The menu offers a little bit of everything and they have fries too which we didn't know in the beginning. We will definitely be back!!
