On one of the hottest days, I somehow stumbled into this place wearing my only Grateful Dead shirt (which scored me a sticker.) I got a chili dog- but it was executed so well, and that potato salad?! Delish. Friendly staff, and all the grateful vibes.. a must stop in the downtown Gatlinburg area!

Mother of all that is holy this place is magic. It's crowded for a reason. The food was unbelievable. Worth it.

Holy moly guacamole! I had to try it myself to believe it - the Reuben here is legendary. The corned beef is SO good. The char is excellent, and the saltiness and flavor are perfect. The rye is toasted to perfection. This was one of the most excellent sandwiches I've had; it's just so balanced in texture, flavor, saltiness, and size. The bbq sandwich was also pretty good. The pulled pork was pretty moist, and the bun was nice and toasted. Peanut butter pie was delicious! I loved the crust. The pineapple jalapeño kombucha is from a local brand in Knoxville. It is very unique, and I would recommend it if you want to try something new. Staff were very friendly. The customers were also very friendly and enthusiastic about these sandwiches. There's plenty of seating inside and outside. The store is honestly not too busy, even in the summertime. Maybe it still counts as a hidden gem??

I went against my own rule when we visited here. The rule is - if it's a sandwich joint, order a sandwich! I didn't. I ordered the Loaded Frito Pie, and it did not disappoint. It was actually too much food, in my opinion. I only ate about half of it. The restaurant is located right on the main strip in Gatlinburg and is just a small shop with a handful of indoor tables. There is also an outdoor patio that would not be suggested on a hot day in June. The staff were nice and friendly. The welcomed us and checked in on us, as they began preparing to close up for the day. They even invited us back for breakfast the next morning. I think them serving breakfast is a fairly new thing for them.

Me and my family went to the sky lift and it took a toll on all five of our bodies. Until we went to Tennessee Jed's it was like an oasis in the middle of the Sahara. I had the best Dr Pepper I have ever had. I had the classic BBQ with potato chips. The classic BBQ needed a tad bit more BBQ. The potato chips were so good and I really enjoyed it. The ambiance is cool! It is a sweet little place and it was just a great vibe. The front lady was awesome and she got our order correct which is always great. FYI does not matter if you're not a watermelon fan eat it anyways.

Run on over Jed's right NOW. We just completed our little adventure through Cade's Cove and we were in dire need of some great grub. What better place than Gatlinburg's BEST RATED sandwich spot?! It definitely was the best in our book! We ordered the Turkey Bacon Ranch Sandwich with a side of Baked Beans (that were knee slapping good) and we just had to try a yummy dessert! We split the Peanut Butter Pie as well. The bacon was crisp and the perfect accompaniment to the tender juicy turkey. Not to mention their ranch is HOMEMADE and is absolutely phenomenal. 12/10, next Gatlinburg trip we will be running on back! (Due to the holiday for being low staffed the food came out without a long wait, I feel like I could taste the love! This cute little sandwich spot is going to be the perfect addition to your Gatlinburg trip! Don't knock it until you try it!)

the tofu sandwich and coleslaw are incredibly tasty and fresh. to me, this restaurant was one of few vegetarian-friendly places in Gatlinburg, TN. the interior is Grateful Dead themed and clean. the servers are very polite and friendly.

I can't even begin to to say how much I was looking forward to visiting Tennessee Jed's- I had heard so much from friends in the grateful dead community about this place.. and OMGosh did it live up to the reputation! I got the loaded Frito pie- it was full of flavor, balanced spices, crunch and all the topping you would want. My family got the pulled pork and corned beef. The service was quick and efficient, and the ambiance was welcoming- both inside and outside seating. The music was jamming and the staff could not have been more friendly. This was a highlight of my time in Gatlinburg.. IF you are walking the shakedown shopping street of Gatlinburg- make sure to get your bones into Tennessee Jed's to say Hi!!! Fare Thee Well!!

Phenomenal ruben! Also some of the best potato salad i've had. love that they are on a rooftop. Nice service, great music. Great quick bite when exploring Gatlinburg. Nice we could grab a (cheap!) beer too.

Half of a Reuben. The meat melts in your mouth!!

After watching 3 tables that ordered after us receive their food, I asked where ours was at and was told it was next. About 4-5 minutes later our food came out. Cold. Like it's been sitting for 20 minutes cold :/ if they left it on accident, they could've taken 5 minutes to remake and BLT and some French toast. Go a few feet further to Split Rail Eats, you won't regret it! Although the food came out cold, I will say the potatoes, BLT, potato salad and tavern toast were good. But they were all cold. I don't enjoy cold eggs or bacon so they were just a waste of money :/ Paying $50 for a BLT, Tavern Toast adding Eggs, getting our own drinks AND tipping 15% for them to take 35 minutes to deliver our food to us cold IMHO, isn't the characteristics of restaurant I'd promote to others. Had they stated they left it in the window too long and needed to make it fresh and we'd have to wait another 5-10, I'd be leaving a different review. We don't complain, that's why we didn't say anything at the time. We get things get busy and forgotten. Our food was definitely served cold so it was either intentionally left or forgotten. Either way, I don't ask for refunds for this reason. I share my experiences and let others decide how to vote with their wallets and choices. I'm not rude and demand to be refunded. I just don't function like that. Also no one ever asked if our food was good or we would've said something God Bless.

And then I looked again, hoping that maybe something low-calorie or nutrient-dense was hiding and I just needed to look harder. Nope. But if you're looking for a sandwich that consists of chicken tenders between two glazed donuts, then this is your place. Sawyer's has other things that are not so county-fair forward. They are known for breakfast: French toast, pancakes, omelettes. If you get pancakes or waffles or the like, you should definitely ask for their house-made peanut butter syrup. It's amazing and so unlike anything that I've ever tasted. I got an omelette, which was good and had a lot of stuff in it. They will give you hot sauce upon request, which I was grateful for because I thought the omelette needed it. One thing that's really cool about Sawyer's is that they seem to take food allergies very seriously. That's always nice to see! As you're entering or exiting, make sure to admire the decor. It looks like you're in a barn, and as you exit, there's a gift shop with stuffed animals, t-shirts and other things to commemorate your visit to Sawyer's. This is a fun little place that's great for families, for sure.
