Great friendly service. Excellent Italian sub and the Turkey and cheese was excellent. Fresh ingredients and bread. Highly recommend.

I couldn't even snap a picture of our food before we dove in, it was DELICIOUS. We both got philly cheesesteaks and it was so yummy. They make them NJ style which is our favorite. Great place to stop through to grab a quick lunch and keep going. Definitely give this place your business.

So to clarify-this and Mamas Chicken Kitchen are the same. But most of the food we ordered was from the sandwich side. We got the Buffalo chicken sandwich-very good but did add more Frank's sauce. The Italian Sub was steamed and delicious with a lot of meat. The grilled chicken sandwich was juice and delicious. We loved the sweet chili wings and salad too. No complaints from anyone in the family. Clean place and they served the food to your table. Loved that they had a Pepsi machine-I'm a Mtn Dew fanatic.

Uh. Yum. We went for a fairly late dinner without any great expectations and were very pleasantly surprised to find most excellent hot wings and tenders! My husband is a wing aficionado ... and gives these and A! The tenders rank in my top three of all time! The sides were good (Mac and cheese, coleslaw) The service was super great. The restaurant is clean and roomy! This is two restaurants in one ... which confused us at first. You order at the counter and can eat from two different menus ...Mama's Chicken Kitchen is the other option. ‍ I don't know which restaurant our food was technically from?

Amazing find! Read the reviews and went today! So glad we did! Craving a good sub. Husband had the Italian and I had the cheese steak. Both so delicious!! Got the large and ate half so leftovers!! We ordered fries extra crispy and they were very good. They are in with a chicken place that says it's the best fried chicken around so now want to go try that! The cashier was super nice too!!

Very good subs, not many other restaurants around to compare to so they've got the advantage.

When we entered the tiny dining room, we were greeted by walls covered with hand colored dollar bills. A warm fire was welcome on the chilly morning. The owners quickly seated us and took drink orders. The owner explained that they moved from New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina. All the food is prepared fresh by hand and authentic. I shared a Crab Cake Po'Boy with hubs. The sandwich was a daily feature and huge. Really huge. And delicious. My brother had the Oyster Po'Boy that I highly recommend. I tasted the large succulent, hand breaded oysters. This is the sandwich that makes you want to make the trip to Gatlinburg. My daughter and SIL had a half Muffalatta sandwich, which was huge and fresh packed with olives, meats, cheese and other good stuff. The kids shared a fish platter which came with a huge fried white fish and home fries. They actually ate their whole plate. The kid's meals are awesome. This is possibly the best cafe in Gatlinburg. The owners make you feel like family, the food is awesome and the dining room is interesting and cozy. We took the trolly into town so we didn't have to deal with parking. Parking is a bear downtown.

Sometimes the most frustrating restaurant experiences aren't the terrible ones…read more They're the ones that are so close to being really good. That's how I felt about Mama's Chicken Kitchen. I came in with high expectations. The restaurant has strong reviews, it's part of the Johnson Family of restaurants, and I've enjoyed several of their other establishments over the years. So I walked in expecting a meal that would have me planning a return visit before I even paid the check. What I got instead was one of the strangest cases of missing seasoning I've encountered in quite some time. Let's start with the positives. The people here are genuinely nice. Friendly, welcoming, and attentive. Everyone we encountered was pleasant and seemed to care about providing a good experience. The restaurant itself is clean, comfortable, and inviting. And the kitchen clearly knows how to cook food. The fried chicken was cooked beautifully. Crispy on the outside. Juicy on the inside. Exactly the texture you're hoping for when you order Southern fried chicken. The problem? The seasoning apparently called in sick. This chicken had all the flavor intensity of a weather report. No noticeable salt. No spice. No personality. It tasted like the chef had just completed community service at a nursing home and was legally prohibited from possessing a salt shaker. My piece of chicken was juicy and cooked properly. Unfortunately, my wife's chicken breast was noticeably dry, which didn't help matters. Then came the fried pickles. No seasoning. Chicken and dumplings. No seasoning. Coleslaw. Tasteless. At one point I started wondering if there had been some sort of building-wide seasoning shortage that nobody had told us about. The frustrating part is that none of the food was poorly cooked. Quite the opposite. The techniques were there. The textures were there. The execution was there. It just felt like someone got everything ready and forgot the final, critical step of making the food taste like something. This is a restaurant with good people, a pleasant atmosphere, and a kitchen that clearly knows how to cook. Now they just need to introduce their food to salt, pepper, and a few of their seasoning friends. Three stars. Because the potential is absolutely there. The flavor just never showed up for work.

As for the food, it was honestly pretty underwhelming considering how hyped this place is. The crab dip was okay, nothing memorable. The steak and lobster was disappointing- the lobster had that soft texture that overcooked or not-so-fresh crawfish can have. The baked shrimp wasn't bad, but definitely not something I'd order again. Strawberry shortcake was decent enough. Ironically, the bread basket ended up being my favorite part of the meal-absolutely delicious. The service, however, was genuinely warm and hospitable. It was a bit slow, but the staff was kind, friendly, and personable enough that it made up for it. That was honestly the highlight of the experience. Was I excited to try this place because of all the hype? Absolutely. Would I personally recommend it? Probably not.
