Had a cousin visiting near by from TX, so we met here for lunch. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Loved the Americana style of the place![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] All these years we lived about 30 minutes away and never have been there... that changes now! It is worth the drive. HH & I arrived at 11:30am Thursday and the place was packed! Great sign for us. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was seat yourself, but we needed 4 seats.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]So while we waited by the door two men sitting at a 6 'top' table heard we would need the bigger table so they moved to a two top and gracefully gave us the 6 top. Very nice of them![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our server was the adorable MISSY! What a hoot! The visiting cousin was with her new fiancé and we were just meeting him that day. (He is a GREAT guy with a funny sense of humor... we approve;) Missy and David (fiancé) hit it off and she knew who 'pick on', and we all had great laughs! So much so that I think other people were leaning in to hear the jokes and fun stories! Cousin is GF and Missy was terrific in following up on her requests. Cousin & Fiancé each had the same breakfast eggs & meats plate that looked yummy! HH & I enjoyed our food as well. I had the Club Sandwich with tots. It was perfect! HH is a Meat loaf loving guy and heartily loved it with the fried okra. (The former TX guy loves him some fried okra)) We were having so much fun I forgot pictures of our plates All in all it was a wonderful visit made even better by Missy! 2.5 hours later we had to say good bye but agreed to be back! read more

Meme's is one of the best country restaurants in Tennessee! I'm so glad we stopped here for lunch! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant is clean and neatly decorated.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The servers are super friendly and helpful. The menu is large, is loaded with all the comfort food you could possibly want, and you can order breakfast all day! I ordered the meatloaf plate (with a yummy ketchup sauce on top) with a side of mashed potatoes & gravy, the delicious cabbage casserole, and 2 fresh home-baked rolls. I really enjoy meatloaf, but I love making meatloaf sandwiches on rolls with a bit of mashed potatoes and gravy on top. I was able to make two scrumptious meatloaf sandwiches from this plate. They were delicious! The portions were large and I definitely left full. If you like cabbage, I highly recommend the cabbage casserole. It was hot, creamy, and delicious (think broccoli casserole with cabbage instead of broccoli). Their dessert case is beautiful, and every dessert is obviously homemade. I took a large piece of pumpkin pie (with fresh whipped cream!) home. Although, I'll probably eat it in the car before we get back to Nashville. Yes I recommend this location does it need some direction yes the food was great and it's great most times but recently it's missing some seriously a great cook, country food not hard to make just get a country woman and done. But it seems as though they got. A teenager in the back cooking. We've been coming here since we moved to this small town and I love the pintos and grilled cheese but my pintos come out lightly warm. And grilled cheese messed up. I have high hopes for this place. read more

Everything here is excellent. We have been dining here once a week for dinner and once for breakfast. I've tried allot of items and nothing has been disappointing. If you can't fit dessert in at the restaurant they have them ready to go and always a great selection. read more

RUDE MANAGEMENT, NEGATIVE 10 RATING The bill was not correct as 1/2 of the items were more than what the menu said. When we pointed that and a couple other issues out, we became the troublemakers. They informed us that they make $6K/day and have NEVER had a complaint. They would not listen or take a second to actually hear anything from us. The management was highly unprofessional and downright rude. If I could give this restaurant a minus 10 rating, I would. If you don't mind being treated horribly, go here. But if you don't want to get ripped off, check your bill before you pay it! read more

I think I'm being a little tough on this place because for what it is, a simple basic diner in a small town, the food was very tasty. Four stars should be considered as excellent, but I think too many reviewers are soft these days. To me, the greens that I had with the menu were very bland. And that's about the only reason that I don't give them the full five stars. Again, there's nothing fancy about the place, it's not fine dining, but it sure was a good lunch. They have a full array of burgers and sandwiches, some salads, and some entrées. It seems they have a daily selection of two or three meats and then several vegetables, and that's what I ordered. This is truly a good place to eat. We were passing through Rockwood on our way back to Chattanooga from Kentucky. I had read the great reviews before we went to Kentucky and had thought we might eat in Rockwood going north but the timing was not right. We are in quest of the best family owned diner and hands down this is our favorite so far! The service inside was amazing. Everyone had a smile and made all the customers feel like regulars. This place is absolutely fantastic! I found this place located in my hometown a Rockwood, Tennessee while visiting some friends and family. This place used to be a NAPA auto parts store however it was converted into a restaurant more of a diner. I absolutely love supporting small businesses and local businesses. They have both a breakfast menu and a dinner menu. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. Some places you go to you may feel uncomfortable and out of place but this place is perfect! I know there are many people who would not find themselves in the small town but if you ever do definitely give this place a try! read more

Goodness! I love me a good diner style restaurant and this one did not disappoint. My dad found this place while he wife was in the hospital nearby. He wanted to take me there for lunch. The service and food were great -- so much so that we came back for dinner and enjoyed the experience all over again. I was extremely impressed by the young men hustling in the restaurant that evening - our server had one arm in a sling and still managed to deliver our food to the table efficiently and with a great personality!
