Office seems a little disorganized sometimes and we have had to occasionally remind them of our past/future appointment dates, But i think that's only because they are so busy. The front desk young asian lady is extremely rude and unprofessional especially if it is your first time here. Also for starters, we went there at 9:00 and they didn't arive till like 7 minutes later while at least 5 people were waiting already. When we got inside to wait for Dr. Tanya, it was about 2 hours of waiting in that small room. If you want a quick check up, I highly suggest you book somewhere else. (20$ for a normal check up by the way) There is also no ac and they don't tell you when the doctor is coming, you just have to sit and wait in the room. I know working in the medical field is hard but front desk can surely do better than give attitude all day. read more

Dr May Lau was the pediatrician at the hospital when I delivered my baby. She was covering for another pediatrician that my ob referred me to (Dr Trinh, who was on vacation at the time). When she discharged us at the hospital she asked if we have a pediatrician and we told her the pediatrician we had wouldn't take my insurance for the first month while we apply for baby's own coverage.. she offered to take my daughter in for her first checkup! How nice of her!!!! When we went the office was nice and clean. Staff were approachable. Dr Lau was great of course. After the check up she was like you can make your follow up appointment with your regular pediatrician when baby's around 2m old. She knew we weren't going to her, she didn't really have to help us, she genuinely cared enough to offer her time to squeeze us in her busy schedule!!! We're forever grateful for what she did. I wish we lived closer so we can have her as our pediatrician instead!!!! Dr May Lau is great!!! You won't be disappointed!!!! Highly recommended!!!! read more

Very unprofessional. I arrive for my sons physical about 35 mins. before appointment so if there was papers to fill out I'd have enough time to take care of the paperwork and be seen in at my appointment time as time manage is very important in our day to day. Respect is important Not only for patients but for doctors too. Make sure ur not more than 5 mins late to any appointment because they will reschedule you. Anyways I wasn't seen till 30 plus minutes after my appointment time so yes I spoke my mind. Might have been a bit disrespectful as doctor didn't seem to care much about making me wait so long. Come to find out she pulled my sons chart out there file Cabinet and cut my son off. Favor she did me! Would never recommend her. Very unprofessional. Save urself the trouble find someone else. We have been coming to Dr. Nguyen for almost 6 years; she has been seeing my two kids ever since they were born. Dr. Nguyen is detailed in our regular visits, and she is very experienced. Usually there is a 1-2 hour average wait, even with appointment so plan accordingly. I knew that coming in so I always bring coloring books or toys for my kids to keep them entertained. They are very busy, so it's understandable. Today we were lucky and got the first appointment, and Dr. Nguyen happened to open the office for us. We were done within 30 minutes of our appointment time. Usually she arrives later because she has to be at nearby hospitals to check on newborns. She came to my hospital after I gave birth to check on our babies, so I can see why it can be frustrating for the long wait. It's beyond her control with the amount of patients she has to see. The nurses are great too! I took off one star because the receptionist has messed up on our schedules a few times, so I always have to call to confirm they have my kids in the system. Dr. Nguyen does return our call; you just have to be persistent with the front desk and keep checking. read more

My three boys have been under Dr Tanya Nguyen care for 16yrs since my first born was just few hours old at the hospital until now, Dr Nguyen is a great Doctor, big heart and very professional ,She would go extra miles to explain all the vaccines if the parents concerned or question any side effect ,when our kids sick we called and if it seems an urgent need to see the doctor, the staffs would tell us to bring the child in our doctor on duty that day and if she wasn't there or not that life threaten (the clinic are share with Dr Lau) and even she was very busy caring the patients at her clinic and hospital she would call back and gave the best advise to ease our heart .The clinic extremely busy with full of patients waiting to see the doctors Staffs usually very busy they have to look and pull out the patients files and making the next appointments so give them some break, if they forget to call back, I usually call back but 16 yrs with them only 1 time the staffs forgot to get back. I know a lot of parents around the area had much serious problem with their kids doctor than our doctor and I usually send them to our doctor clinic .If you can chill and understanding then you will see that your kids in better care with Dr Tanya Nguyen. i really like Dr. May Lau (i would give her a 5 star if i can skip her front desk), she is friendly and went thru everything with my baby in the hospital, BUT once it comes down to her clinic (share with Tanya, who i think is also a great dr too) all the good thing becomes negative: 1. freaking long wait (without appointment 3 hrs, with appointment still an hour), don't know the dr hours (not according to the office hour by the door) 2. you can tell they over admin new patients, too many people go to them. 3. front desk is not helpful (mistaken 100.2 fever with 102, asking my friend to sign a waiver to see the health chart of her own son), they won't call to remind you when is your appointment, if you are late/ didn't show up, chances are your next appointment time is a month away (yea my sick kid can wait one month to see her again) i don't care how great the dr is, if my kid is sick and they need to see dr, i don't want to waste couple hours (or a month) to be in her clinic. read more

My personal experience! My baby girl is seeing Dr. Nguyen. Dr. Nguyen was the first doctor my baby knows because I did not look for a pediatrician for my baby before my delivery. I am glad I didn't found one, because Dr. Nguyen happens to be available to see her at the hospital. I figure these doctors don't have time for me or my questions as a first time mom. I was totally wrong. Dr. Nguyen came in everyday and answered all my questions when I was in the hospital. Once I came home it was more nerve racking for me (first time mom), I had so many concerns and questions. So I called Dr. Nguyen and yes her office is busy but receptionist must have changed I have not yet have a mean or a b@#$* one either. The person on the phone was nice and actually noted that I called and I always get a call back from the doctor. Be patient with your doctor. Your child isn't the only one she is seeing. Dr. Nguyen does call back and if it is something serious I would take my baby to the hospital right away. read more

Extremely D I S S A P P O I N T I N G! My wife called, only to be told by the (first) receptionist that they were busy but would call in an hour. Lies! I had to contact them back. This time the (second) 'sub' receptionist as she referred herself as, said that the first receptionist had gone to lunch...which I get, however, it's been over an hour+...Now the second receptionist who answered my "reminder call" (basically what it was since they don't call back) said we would be contacted "back" within an hour. In total, 3+ hours waiting/wasted. A back and forward waiting game. Literally feels like a baby's health concern is not top priority here. The Review is for Dr. Lau I had an appointment for my baby at 10:40 and it was confirmed yestrday. when we arrived today the front desk staff told my husband and I the Dr doesn't come in till 2:30. I requested my baby's medical records to take her elsewhere but was told they can't be given to me or sent to a different caregiver without Dr. Lau's approval. ALL NEGATIVE REVIEWS!!!! BE AWARE IF YOU WANT YOUR LITTLE ONE TO "SUFFER" The office management is very ridiculous. Let's start out with my newborn daughter. My daughter is due for her 2 months visit, made her appointment way in advance. The office itself said they'll check the insurance a week or the beginning of the month. I assume that they'll do their job. Story begins.... Checked in at 1055am for her 11am appointment. Sat down and waited. Waited and waited. Look at the time. It's 1115. Still no call, waited again, now it's 1130. Patients checked in way after me got checked in and left one by one. It's now 12pm and still no sign of being called. Went to the front desk, and spoke to the girl. She said oh we didn't call your daughter in because she's not active under your insurance. Are you f**king kidding me. I waited for an hour for you to tell me she's not going be seen because she doesn't show up in your system and I need to show proof of insurance by showing her card. Have you ever thought at least notified the patient's mother who matter of fact is sitting in front of you. Instead of them offering to help me find out what's wrong with the insurance, I called it myself. Found out there was no error on my insurance end, it's the doctors office themselves. After about 30 mins of haggling left and right, I said I'm willing to pay cash and if I do, do I get reimbursed. They don't have such thing. What's the point of providing them with insurance if they won't bill it for you. Then the same girl said I'll call Dr Nguyen to come out and we won't charge you if she sees the baby out in the waiting room. Lucky at that time, there was no one except me because by then it was already 1pm. I supposedly going to make them miss their lunch. It's not my fault. Then Dr Nguyen came out herself and saw my daughter. Gave her diagnosis and bam, she's gone. So unprofessional. This is recently, 3 weeks ago my daughter might of caught the cold. She's been congested for about 2 weeks. Called the office to make an appointment. I believe she's the nurse because she gave me advices on how to take care of my daughter OVER THE PHONE. anyways the story goes on like this. I wanted to make an appointment and hoping maybe I'll be lucky to get a walk in. Nope. I was wrong. No walk in or future appointment. Are you serious??? What kind of century are we in ? The girl asked me for my information along with my daughter and said. I'll have Dr Nguyen look over the notes I jotted and will have her call you back if she can take your daughter in to see her. So I did. I waited for an hour. No respond. Called the office and found out they close for the day. When I called the office it was only 945am. I called back at 1103 and phone kept ringing. Left a voice mail after a while and waited for a phone call back. It was already 1. Didn't bother. 3 weeks went by, this week Oct 31, call the office. No appointment at all. So decided to just take my daughter somewhere else. This office is ridiculous. Should be more professional because this is a pediatric office not an adult office. Babies' health are very important. If you believe it's not. Then don't even bother working or owning up on your license because I'm sure some baby got sick and maybe could of die from lack of communication from this office. Found out, my daughter ended up with bronchillitis and ends up having to use an inhaler. No thanks to this office. My daughter had to suffer for 3 weeks and maybe even more. It takes a long time to schedule an appointment. NO playroom or toys for the kids to play while you wait 1 to 2 hours with an appointment. The wait room is right there when you step in the door. So crowded and cramp with moody kids and adults. I don't understand how the line with an appointment can take so long for your child to be seen and once he/she is seen its only about 5-10 minutes. Bad attitude from the front desk. I called to tell her I was going to be 10 minutes late. She says, "Okay, but no more than 10 minutes." This review is for dr. Tanya Nguyen. Just went here my daughters annual check up. The receptionist does seem a bit stand off'ish at first meeting, but she usual warms up to you during your visit. The nurse is very nice and, a bit on the younger side, but very sweet. The doctor is great. Knowledgeable and sweet too. There was no wait for us. We were in and out in no time =) I have been to other doctors that overbook and the wait is 1.5-2 hrs every single time!! It was getting ridicoulous. read more

I take my kids to see Dr. Tanya Nguyen and Dr. May Lau for quite a few years now, my kids and I love the both dearly. However, They have need to hire someone else to run that front desk badly, because those girls are horrible and unprofessional. Whether or not if you have an appointment or your insurance is HMO or PPO (I've always carry PPO), you still need to wait. I have address the issue to the Doctors already, but nothing change. They said that they can not find anyone to work full time and bilingual like those girls. That just didn't make any sense at all, they willing to let go the patients than protecting their staffs. I made and appt for my son for a regular check up and we just had to wait one week. I went to the office two days before to do the paper work to save sometime and the receptionist was very nice and helpful. Yes office is small and no toys or playground for kids but this is secondary for me when the doctor is good. So far so good. read more

Dr. Tanya Nguyen has been my children's pediatrician since I had my first child 8 yrs ago. She was referred to me by my sister in law and saw all three of my kids when they were first born in the hospital. Dr. Nguyen is extremely busy and that maybe due to the fact that she is one of the best! She is super attentive, kind and very sweet with how she speaks with her patients and parents. My children love her and her staff. Wait times maybe long during peak illness seasons (which should be expected everywhere) but she spends as much time as you need with her and always welcomes questions and offers additional education/information. She is not one of those physicians who write prescriptions when medications are not needed (I greatly appreciate this). I am grateful for her and highly recommend her. read more

The Office doesn't take walk in, even when your child is sick. The front desk rep, doesn't ask you to make an appointment but just to turn you away. When you ask for dr to respond back to you; they normally call you back at the end of the day and sometime NO calll. Dr. Lau, is not a responsible doctor, when I told her my concern about my baby over the phone she just said, "Bring him back when his condition get worse" also, she said," from what you telling me it is best that you monitor him at home, instead of waiting 3-4 hours in the dr office." .... Does that sound WRONG!!!! A doctor is telling you NOT to bring in your child when your child is sick. She can at lease say... bring your baby in tomorrow so I can check on your baby or let's make an appointment so I can fully diagnose your baby with his medical chart in front of me. If you like being treated like a number rather than a concerned parent, this is the place for you. Dr. Tanya was cursory in her examination and curt in her manner. She had no patience or time for questions I had about my newborn baby. And the one question she did answer showed she didn't even pay enough attention to understand exactly what I was asking. Totally dismissive of all my concerns. This office overbooks so that the wait is long and you are stuck in the waiting room with so many people that it is inevitable your child will be exposed to illness just by coming to get examined. One time we were 15 minutes late because we had to come across town and there was an accident on the freeway. Our appointment was canceled by them and both the doctor and front desk were unnecessarily rude about it. It was heartbreaking to then have to miss a scheduled examination for my newborn. I wouldn't want another parent to have to experience what we did here with Dr. Tanya. I cannot comment on the care provided by the other doctors at this location who are likely fine but our experience with Dr. Tanya was so terrible that we will never be back anyway. "This review is for Dr. May Lau". My son used to see Dr. May Lau when he was born. Due to the impolite helpdesk and the long wait, I decided to have a new pediatrician for my son after 1+ year. I later realized that I made a mistake and agreed that Dr. Lau was a better one, then I tried to switch back. When I checked in healthnet, I was happy seeing that Dr. Lau is still accepting new patient. Therefore, I called healthnet to switch my son back to her in 8/2015. On 12/18/15, I called in, trying to make an appointment for a 4-years-old check-up for my son, informing the helpdesk that my son was a returning patient, requesting to have an annual check-up appointment in January. She told me that Dr. Lau "might not" accept "returning patient" because she was too "BUSY". She took my information, and told me that she would call me back after Dr. Lau returned from lunch. I did not get the call that day. On 12/21/15, I called the office again, and gave the helpdesk the same information. She told me she just helped out the other girl, and will ask her to give me a call back later today. And no call again. On 11/23/15, I called one more time. Now the helpdesk said she had already told me that Dr. Lau "would not" accept "returning patient". Of course, I was very upset, and raised my voice, and asking why I was not informed or called on the first day I called. What a "XYZ"! I am just puzzled now and have a few questions. 1. If the doctor is not accepting "new" patient, why saying "accepting new patient" on the healthnet website? 2. If the doctor is not accepting "returning" patient, why doesn't she reject in September after I switch back in August? Yes, she might not realize that I was re-registered... 3. If the doctor is not accepting "returning" patient, is that bias against the patient? Should the doctor has this type of attitude? Anyway, does the doctor deserve any star? I hope the health care provider would read this review, and have some judgements regarding a doctor's attitude! I am now looking for new pediatrician for my son, cuz he would need to have a 4-year-old checkup in January. Hopefully, I can find a right one for my son. read more

*This review is for Dr. Lau and the front desk* Dr. May Lau is a terrific doctor, and lets me know if my daughter is maybe having certain problems and to take precautions. She patiently examines my daughter, and would answer any questions I'd have without me feeling rushed. Front desk ladies are friendly also, Rosa is always very kind to me. Be nice to them, and they will also be nice back. They are very busy and do try their best to keep up with all the patients and paperwork probably!! I know to make appointments at about 2pm if I make appointments for my daughter, that is when it isn't too busy. I would be in and out of there within an hr. Patients are a virtue! My children have been seeing both Dr. Nguyen and Dr. Lau for the past 16 years. They have a very busy pediatric practice and they do have long waits whether by appointment or walk in. I have never been turned away for walking in with an ill child. But if I had that is what Urgent Care is for. Although I would prefer that my child sees their own PCP. I followed these Dr.'s from the practice they worked for. I can tell you they are worth the wait. The long waits are because they are continuously working in ill walk in children. In a perfect world you would walk into a practice and you would be seen immediately however this is an HMO and Medi-Cal practice however by the way children ALL CHILDREN are treated you would not think so as these Dr.'s are extremely patient, kind and devoted to their patients. I wish there were more providers like this! As for their Front Office staff, well in all the years I have been to this practice neither my children nor I have ever been mistreated by her front office personnel. Are they a little rough around the edges, perhaps but they do their job and they do it well. One bad experience cannot undo the years of combined experience that these two providers share and how well they treat my children. This to me is invaluable! read more
