She was great and gave us some interesting facts about the Whitney Peak Hotel building while we had delicious ahi tuna tacos with a wonton shell. From there we walked over to Crafted Palette. We had not known about this place and what a hidden gem. We had an amazing wellington pie and a cherry pie. Crafted Palette features local artists and offers sip and paint classes. From there we went to Wild River Grille where we had amazing bruschetta and pork belly. The GM also gave us a great tour of the building and some of the history behind the restaurant and the apartments above, once a hotel (Marilyn Monroe was a guest while filming The Misfits!) We next journeyed to Papa What's Cooking for red beans and rice, with a side of cornbread. Both excellent. Finally, we wrapped up the day at Sierra Bakery and Creamery, where the owner creates all the ice cream recipes himself and we were able to chat with him. Great guy and great ice cream and treats. My friend wound up buying a quart to take home. Reno Food Tours is a great way to spend an afternoon. Our guide, Fanci, was great and gave us lots of fun facts about various buildings and some historical information and lore surrounding the biggest little city. The restaurant stops are the tour do change up every so often so we definitely decided we would go again. Highly recommend as a fun way to enjoy the city of Reno.

The staff is awesome, and the follow car makes you feel like a local celeb as you cruise downtown. Pro tip: show up at least 30 minutes early. Black Rabbit gets crowded with multiple groups starting or ending their rides, which can slow down service and eat into your bike time.

We got there as recommended and there was only one bartender for a massive group of us and another group who reserved a bike for the day, so it was pretty chaotic and took much longer than expected. I would also recommend knowing which stops you want to go to. There is a list online, so come prepared and enjoy! Overall the driver was fantastic as was the experience. He has an incredible knowledge of Virginia City and Northern Nevada history, but he shares it in a way that's engaging, funny, and easy to follow. His sense of humor was the perfect mix of clever and classic jokes, which kept both the adults and the kids entertained! Before we even stepped into the mine, Gary sat us under a tree and told the story of Virginia City and The Comstock Load. I've lived in Northern Nevada for years, and he still taught me things I had never heard before! It was a great reminder of just how much fascinating history we have right here in our own backyard. I also appreciated how patient and thoughtful he was with everyone in our group, especially the children and those who needed a little extra time walking through the mine. He made sure everyone felt included. As a bonus, Gary is also an author! I ended up buying one of his books (I collect children's books for my office), and he has written other books too. I may have to buy the others with my next visit. Whether you're visiting from out of town, or you've lived here for years, the Chollar Mine Tour is absolutely worth experiencing. The tour started with the lower level of the Renaissance Hotel (who provided water and a snack) for a introduction, a historical set-up (in costume) and fun "throw the cards" warm-up. Once outside (fully masked) and "on the road", our tour stops included the old Post Office/West Elm, the Reno Courthouse, the Virginia Street Bridge, Space Whale/Site of old Mapes Hotel, Old Riverside Hotel, one of Reno's historic old Alleys, and Belle Island. In between were stories of hangings, rings thrown from the bridge, missing person/mob hits, possible prohibition liquor runs through alleged tunnels, and of course the church where the finale of Sister Act was filmed. There were also magic tricks, bad jokes, a look up in the sky gag for tour add-ons, a fake birthday song tribute to a surprised restaurant patron, and a very enjoyable and interactive outdoor experience. The expedition ended back at the hotel with a ring magic trick, a bit historical letter reveal, and appreciation for a job well done. This expedition actually left me with wanting more in terms of local historical tidbits and stories. Maybe sometime post-COVID, a longer and smaller attended walking tour would be "in the cards". In the meantime, please buy a ticket to the Weird Reno walking tour and thank you Kalin, Jinger, Jacques, and family for a bringing a little welcome joy to such a challenging time. We wanted to do a 7-day cruise on Virgin Voyage but also wanted to spend some time in Athens prior to the cruise. First off, we have 2 adult children living in 2 different states. I wanted to be able to meet somewhere and then fly together to Greece. It was great that she was able to coordinate the different flights, time zones, etc to get us all there. We all met in Toronto and was able to fly together to Greece. Once there, the hotel she chose was fantastic! Centrally located in the City, the Acropolis view from hotel room and restaurant were amazing. The cruise was amazing and the suites she got us and the kids were perfect! Although we had separate rooms, we shared a balcony and it was on the correct side of the ship so we were able to see ports as we arrived. The transports she coordinated from the airport to the hotel, and then to the embarkation, and then back to the airport was very satisfying as I did not have to worry about timelines and/or standing in line for transportation. She was even able to have flight times back to the USA from Athens so we were able to have a "last final" together at the airport before returning on separate flights. There is no way I could've done this on my own and we are all thankful for Amanda's expertise!

Dinner consisted of mushroom ravioli for appetizer, salad, lots of bread and the entree was Salmon and/or chicken parmigiana. Dessert and drinks were also delicious but not included. The show was Holiday on Ice. The pictures aren't that great but the show was fabulous; singing, dancing and Ice skating. This is the second event I go on with Patty's Tours and I highly recommend them.
