Most recently we visited Toytopia. This exhibit offers the chance to explore a hands-on history of toys from the past and into the future. My kids loved the oversized robotic claw, reminiscent of an amped up arcade machine. It was a blast trying to get the individually articulating fingers to close around the ball in order to lift it into the basket for the big reward. We also enjoyed the oversized battleship game. So fun to play and we spent 20-30 min there. Mr Potato Head was old school fun too. We made a competition out of it to see who could make the wackiest example. I think I won... or maybe my kids let me win. But the favorite had to be the mini arcade they had setup with some of the best old school cabinets. Donkey Kong, DK Jr., Dig Dug and so many more are all here as part of the exhibit and you could spend a long time here without realizing it! Oh and there's even a Zoltar fortune teller too! When you're done at toytopia you can go learn the history of Wilbur D May on the other side of the museum. The seasoned shoestring fries served alongside were also excellent. The burger was very good, but it was essentially meat, sauce, and cheese. I like a little freshness on my burgers, so I was missing some lettuce and tomato. Fortunately, I substituted a salad for the fries and ended up piling most of it onto the burger. Next time, I'll just ask for those toppings to be added. The poutine, however, didn't quite live up to the versions I've had elsewhere. I'm not sure if they used white cheddar curds, but they were almost completely melted instead of retaining that signature squeaky texture. The gravy was just okay, and I don't think shoestring fries are the best choice for poutine since they don't hold up as well under the toppings. Overall, I'd definitely come back--especially for the wings and another burger.

She hosts overnight stays for traveling horses as well as participants in the annual rodeo. I have had my boy moved around several places back in California, and I myself grew up around horses and living a farm life of sorts. Nan is honestly my favorite ranch owner. She's what I hope to be when I grow up: bold, truthful but kind and caring. She keeps her property well kept and has a no nonsense policy, with humans and animals. So, if you're looking for a new place to board, or you're traveling through and need a rest stop, give Nan a call!!

The tortilla chips were house-made, the brisket was quite flavorful and tender - it all came together perfectly with the sauce, crema, egg, avocado and cilantro. We both ordered the spicy margarita, which was excellent. Not too strong and with a nice kick. We arrived around 1pm and sat next to a wood burning fireplace. Talk about feeling spoiled with the whole place to ourselves! Our waitress was very helpful and attentive. We knew they had just hired a new chef and he has been working hard on a new menu that will rollout very soon. Apparently, he has offered several specials over the past few weeks as an "introduction" to his culinary talents and all have been well-received. We look forward to returning when the new menu is fully integrated. The whole restaurant/bar/club is beautifully decorated and feels very upscale, but not pretentious. The regular menu is also available to order from. Cup of mushroom soup: cup size is a good appetizer portion, good mushroom taste but WAY too salty. Would not order again. Pretzel bites: SUPER YUM! Slightly crunchy at the corners and fluffy inside. Perfectly bite sized and great dips (cheese and mustard). Loved these and would absolutely order again. Spinach dip: not a fan. The one thing I did like about this is that the dip portion was extremely generous, but I was not a fan of the taste. For me it was like slightly watered down sour cream. You have the options of chips or baguette. We went with baguette and for the first time in my life, the dipping vessels were very scant compared to the amount of dip so if anyone orders this, I would recommend it with chips. Would not order again. Poutine fries: YUM! Definitely a shareable portion. Thin fries topped with yummy breaded cheese curds and piping hot gravy this was my favorite thing. However after the food came out, no one came to check on us, see how we were doing or clear plates. We were always having to flag someone down for refills, napkins and the check. It wasn't busy. The inside is clean, has a large bar area and outdoor seating. Also lots of TVs. I don't think I'll be returning, but I do recommend the poutine fries and pretzel bites. Things to note: Have to walk up stairs to enter. No private parking lot, have to street park and a lot of parking is metered. 9:00 am to 6:00 pm Monday - Saturday & free on Sundays / holidays.
