We went on a 2 hour tour with Patrick and had a great time. We saw wild horses but more then that we learned a lot from Patrick. We we're able to recognize family of horses as they were together and followed us as we drove around. Highly recommend their service. Very educational and interesting

Tina is great -- knowledgeable and friendly -- simply a great guide. We saw horses the first day and came back for another tour the next morning and saw more horses in remote locations most locals don't know about.

Wanting a unique experience, Sonny Boys Mustang Tours is it! Experience the beautiful wild mustangs known to NV. You will have a chance to get up close and personal with these majestic animals. You will learn all about the history (unfiltered truth) about these animals and the struggle they have had to endure. Tina is very knowledgeable and will make sure your experience is a great one! Highly recommend this tour to everyone!!

It doesn't get much better than this company. If you want to see wild horses, then you must do this while in the Reno area. The tour company is run by a husband and wife team. Both are extremely pleasant and passionate at what they do. They pick you up at your hotel promptly and in 20 minutes, your are seeing the wild horses. I'm an amateur photographer and I managed to take over 2,300 photos on the 3 hour tour. This was our second time using them. Every time we are in the Reno area, we plan to take a tour. Book them. It won't be a mistake.

Seeing wild horses has always been a dream and Patrick at Sonny Boys Tours made it a reality. The introduction information as we headed out of town was so informative and well done (it was put together by both Tina and Patrick). We also found a ton of groups just right out of Reno. It was great to be able to sit back and enjoy the ride and know that I was going to see horses, but we saw way more than I thought we would. So glad I booked Sonny Boys to do this bucket list item. Also a big shout out to Tina for being so accommodating and helpful when I was booking by day.

FANTASTIC TOUR! I will admit that we were afraid before we started the tour that we would spend this money and maybe not see any horses or only a few. We saw over a hundred wild horses! It was an incredible experience to see the horses in the wild and watch their interactions. Patrick is very knowledgeable not only on where to find the horses but he will give you information about the different horse families as well. Patrick also educated us (we were limited in our horse knowledge) on what the horse interactions represented. He is very friendly and doesn't mind answering all your questions. When you are with a group of horses he allows you all the time you want for pictures and watching. One group of horses came up to within 20 feet of us. Our last spot that we stopped at was what Patrick called "the watering hole". I don't know how many horses were there, but it must have been at least 70 or more. We got to watch young horses running and playing together, horses rolling in the water, horses challenging each other and a young horse nursing. Our son went to the tour thinking it was not going to be that much fun but left the tour amazed and so happy he went. It is a family business. I would advise that you plan ahead and book the tour earlier rather than later. We were a little concerned because we booked the afternoon tour just that morning. We were lucky that they had the tour available for us but there wasn't an address for us to know where to go for the tour. There was a phone number but we just got a voicemail. If that happens to you - don't worry. They called us back about an hour later and sent us instructions. We met at a retail store in Reno next to a "Park and Ride". We parked our car in the Park and Ride and got into Patrick's 7 passenger SUV that could handle the off road terrain. It was so much better than we imagined it could be. I highly recommend that you go on this tour. I have included a couple of photos from my iPhone but I only took a couple of pictures. My husband had a nice camera with a zoom lens. I left most of the picture taking to him and he got some amazing shots!

The tour started with the lower level of the Renaissance Hotel (who provided water and a snack) for a introduction, a historical set-up (in costume) and fun "throw the cards" warm-up. Once outside (fully masked) and "on the road", our tour stops included the old Post Office/West Elm, the Reno Courthouse, the Virginia Street Bridge, Space Whale/Site of old Mapes Hotel, Old Riverside Hotel, one of Reno's historic old Alleys, and Belle Island. In between were stories of hangings, rings thrown from the bridge, missing person/mob hits, possible prohibition liquor runs through alleged tunnels, and of course the church where the finale of Sister Act was filmed. There were also magic tricks, bad jokes, a look up in the sky gag for tour add-ons, a fake birthday song tribute to a surprised restaurant patron, and a very enjoyable and interactive outdoor experience. The expedition ended back at the hotel with a ring magic trick, a bit historical letter reveal, and appreciation for a job well done. This expedition actually left me with wanting more in terms of local historical tidbits and stories. Maybe sometime post-COVID, a longer and smaller attended walking tour would be "in the cards". In the meantime, please buy a ticket to the Weird Reno walking tour and thank you Kalin, Jinger, Jacques, and family for a bringing a little welcome joy to such a challenging time. Sincerely - Shorty

It was nice to experience something new and much needed in a long time. I definitely recommend getting tickets. We were laughing throughout the tour. So much history of which I learned about that I had no idea.., which left me truly inspired. I'll keep an eye out as I overheard there would be special events around Halloween and the holidays yay! It was a great Saturday in which we were enchanted, outdoors and walking triple points. Even celebrating someone's birthday! We met our tour guide, Fanci, at Cafe Whitney at 11am. She was great and gave us some interesting facts about the Whitney Peak Hotel building while we had delicious ahi tuna tacos with a wonton shell. From there we walked over to Crafted Palette. We had not known about this place and what a hidden gem. We had an amazing wellington pie and a cherry pie. Crafted Palette features local artists and offers sip and paint classes. From there we went to Wild River Grille where we had amazing bruschetta and pork belly. The GM also gave us a great tour of the building and some of the history behind the restaurant and the apartments above, once a hotel (Marilyn Monroe was a guest while filming The Misfits!) We next journeyed to Papa What's Cooking for red beans and rice, with a side of cornbread. Both excellent. Finally, we wrapped up the day at Sierra Bakery and Creamery, where the owner creates all the ice cream recipes himself and we were able to chat with him. Great guy and great ice cream and treats. My friend wound up buying a quart to take home. Reno Food Tours is a great way to spend an afternoon. Our guide, Fanci, was great and gave us lots of fun facts about various buildings and some historical information and lore surrounding the biggest little city. The restaurant stops are the tour do change up every so often so we definitely decided we would go again. Highly recommend as a fun way to enjoy the city of Reno.
