I came to Tao to Wellness with chronic headaches. I had tried everything across the board, tradition medicine in the form of pills and vitamins, changing diet, it seemed like nothing would ever work. Christina is incredible. I've been seeing her for at least 4 years now. She also treats my husband and my newborn baby boy. After my husband injured his wrist, he was able to use it again after one treatment from her. She's helped with my migraines. She given me emergency same day treatments which did better than any western or alternative pain med I've ever tried. Her ongoing treatments helped reduce the frequency and severity of the pain in the first place. She helped regulate my menstrual cycle, which had never been consistent. Through the regulation, I was able to get pregnant, something I wasn't even sure was possible. But the icing was how much she's helped me throughout and after my pregnancy. I saw her weekly through the first trimester and last month, and every two to four weeks through the rest. I don't know what I would've done without her. In fact, it wouldn't surprise me if I would've been confined to bed rest if I hadn't been getting her acupuncture treatments throughout. She calmed my anytime-sickness (mornings, my ass), kept my blood pressure regulated (not so low I'd pass out, but not so high that the Dr. would freak out), and kept my fatigue and stress down to a manageable level despite *major* drama elsewhere in my life. When I went into labor the morning of an appt with her, my doula advised me to keep the appt. Sure enough, her treatment got the contractions to a respectable length even though they still weren't frequent enough to go to the hospital. After the long labor ending in cesarean birth (through no fault of Christina's, mind you), she was one of the first practitioners I saw outside the crappy hospital, and she helped get my recovery on track. Between her and my homeopath, every western doctor who's seen my incision has commented on how well it's healing. Acupuncture rocks! And Christina is the best around. read more

I don't know why I haven't written any reviews for Christina yet! She is WONDERFUL. I have certainly sent her info to everyone I know who has ever expressed to me the slightest bit of chronic or lingering pain! Gotta share her fabulousness with Yelp!!! Christina's compassion, intuition, and healing energy are incomparable. Add to that the fact that she is genuinely warm and has a great sense of humor?! Instant LOVE!!! The journeys I have been through at her practice over the last couple years have been amazing. From addressing chronic problems (stress, stress-related digestion issues, tension, etc.) to sheer "wait, that was hurting so much when I walked in -- where'd the pain go?!?" MAGIC, Christina has been a miracle-worker. She knows her craft and does it well. I remember two distinct "wow!" moments with her: (1) My foot was hurting for about a week. It felt like "something was out of alignment" and that it was a structural problem. I had my regular session with Christina, and at the end of recapping my overall well-being, I tacked on "oh and by the way, my foot hurts here, but I don't think acupuncture can fix that." It took me about three hours after I got home that night to realize "omg, wait, my foot IS. NOT. HURTING." Magic, I tell you. (2) I had a pretty severe ankle sprain about seven weeks ago. I totally forgot about acupuncture and neglected to go see her until last week. I had been seeing regular Western doctors and was receiving physical therapy, but that ONE session was brilliant. I had increased mobility, less pain, better flexibility -- all stuff that the physical therapist noted as having dramatic improvement. We're so bad at taking care of ourselves! How many people have I referred to Christina over those last seven weeks, but I myself neglected to go in?! Man!! Amazing. Anyway. The office is clean and comfortable. You get your own room, blanket, heating pad, eye pillow, headphones with soothing rain sounds, all the amenities. This is no acupuncture mill where you lay on a bed in a room with other patients. Treasure worked on me a few days before my wedding. I needed help to relax and let go of stress and undone tasks. She's very down to earth and it seemed easy for her to relate with me. She listened to my situation and experience well, and asked appropriate questions to guide the treatment. The needle insertion was comfortable and she checked in to make sure I was getting what I needed. As I rested with the needles in, I went through a physical and emotional settling, a relaxation, and after a while, a feeling of being done. I've been a patient at Tao to Wellness for over 8 years now. I first met Christina when I was 29-years-old and not having regular periods. I was commuting daily to handle repairs on my Oakland house due to a water pipe break. It was a stressful situation with long hours and my chronic back/neck pain and GERD were acting up.
