we stayed 2 nights...small rv park BUT great location...owners, John and Ce were wonderful...scenery was beautiful...will definitely go back...be sure to try to do the 84 mile enchanted circle drive

    Awesome sunsets in Taos

We are full-time RV'rs and frequent as many as 40 to 60 campgrounds a year of all types.........without a doubt this campground receives high marks across the board. There are I believe 19 or 20 sites at this location, it is perched atop a small knoll which positions itself for absolutely remarkable sunsets. The camp hosts and the owner are incredibly friendly and extremely helpful not only during the registration and set up process but also directing where to go in Taos for great food, entertainment and sightseeing. The main building houses the registration, a well-stocked convenience store, the laundry and the showers. The bathrooms are absolutely flawless, extremely clean and just what is needed when you want a hot shower. The laundry area is similarly clean with sofas and reading material. I would only add though that perhaps a second washer and dryer would be nice so as not to take so long doing the laundry (my six-year-old son can generate a lot of laundry LOL). They only charge a $1.25 to wash and same to dry. All of the spaces at this location are pull through and all but three sites have full hookups. We are in site five which does not have a sewer connection nor does number six or number seven but in all honesty when we return to this location we will likely select one of those three sites as it positions your RV for some rather spectacular views of the sunset. There is an entertainment area at the center of the park with barbecue grills, tables and lounge chairs and is a comfortable place to relax, barbecue and enjoy the evening. For us the Wi-Fi was nearly perfect, not many RV parks have as good and as reliable Wi-Fi as this park does. It does slow down slightly in the evenings but over all we remained connected and it was nice to not have to use our Verizon hotspots. There is good spacing between the RVs and overall would give this park a 10 out of 10. The owner or owners are very proud of their park and it shows, do not hesitate to make a reservation for this location it will be time well spent.

Fabulous, good people. Clean , spacious, well light, best ever bath and rest rooms. Only negative is the restroom is one person at a time. Has not been a problem, but could be inconvenient. Convenient to the Historic Area. Good brew house just down he road.

Nice park nice people. If you're not boondocking this is the way to go

Very nice spot. People friendly! If you're not boondocking this is the place to be near Toas! They seem to be upgrading- Beautiful lilac bushes. Wifi very slow until early AM or late PM. That's the only minus. And who cares!

View from our site. Next to road, very noisy, even when I'm our RV.

We keep reading how great the management is. There's a sign in their office that says "Be Kind!" We experienced zero kindness. Example 1: We asked to move to a different site upon arrival. it was less expensive than what we'd reserved & paid for, but the view was so much better we didn't mind paying more. We were told "no, you can't move". We asked if the site was reserved, the answer was "no". We were told we couldn't move there because it messed up their "book". We asked, again, because the answer just didn't make sense. The response was an agitated "you're asking for too much!" Example 2: Our confirmed reservation was for Tues - Fri nights, leaving Sat morning. Friday afternoon, owner knocked on our door and said in an angry voice, "why are you still here? You were supposed to leave this morning. You need to leave NOW!" We showed him our confirmation email, but that wasn't good enough; we had to follow him to the office so his wife could confirm she knew we were staying until Sat. morning. How was this kind? Bottom line, very poorly run business.

We arrived with a serious electrical problem, and Nathan - the owner/manager - promptly helped us by re-wiring temporarily, so we could have air-conditioning and electricity for our two days stay. He then called Albuquerque, New Mexico - which will be passing through after we left this location - and ordered us the electrical component to fix our RV. Because we would be arriving there on a Saturday, he also made arrangements with a mobile RV tech to install that part! Everything you want is at this location; from a wonderful restaurant, to laundry facilities, to conveniently located for the recreation facilities nearby, and a wonderful store. Nathan would not take a penny from us, for helping us!!! I cannot tell you how my wife and I, and dog, appreciated all he did for us, to make our stay just fabulously wonderful!!!! If you could give six stars to this nice place and the wonderful owners, they deserve it!!!

He had me follow him to our site and then continued to help us get situated. I found this to be pretty much the standard as Nate was always helping someone in the campground. We fell in love with Golden Eagle the year before when we met Bruce and Bridgette (Nate's parents) who told us they would be passing the campground on to Nate and Lisa. Sometimes you worry when you get that kind of news. But we found that nothing has changed in the warm and professional atmosphere, and the changes that Nate HAS made to the facilities are awesome. It's a fun and unique place to visit. Always something to do with local vendors showing up on one day with their homemade wares of jewelry, fresh bread, jams and beef jerky and then some really great musicians and singers on another evening. (Take some time to look at their events page.) And don't miss the evening movies. Just prepare to enjoy the fun. One of the nice surprises for me was their Grill where you could enjoy a delicious breakfast, lunch and/or dinner. I started with breakfast and the sausage was the best I had ever eaten - and I'm a Cajun boy. I had a great cheeseburger for lunch and my wife had, she said, one of the best chicken salad sandwiches she had ever had - but were not able to stay for the beef brisket special for that week. Hopefully it will be back when we return. (I believe you can see a copy of their menu on their website, but the specials change weekly.) In any event, we had a great time and will be returning in a few weeks for the balloon launch. I can't really add anything to some of the other nice reviews that give you more detail about the facilities, but Nate and Lisa were great and always accommodating - just good people and a joy to be around. We look forward to seeing them again. Do yourself a favor and spend some time at Golden Eagle RV Campground in Eagle Nest, New Mexico.

Cabins has two upper beds that the kids loved being up there. Two bunk beds downstairs, one master room, one couch that pulls into a bed for more bed space, one bathroom, one kitchen area with a cooking top. It's enough for a whole family with a crew of kids. Had such great views and an awesome community center. With Landry rooms, a hot tub that is huge, a fire pit that's make the experience magical. A computer that has WiFi. A comfortable dealing room. Bathrooms available. Family of 7 and it was such a great experience. Kids had first ski experience and ski school this was super closer to the slopes you can see the slopes in the day '& night when the slopes are light up for ski nights. Grocery stores and ski rentals all near the resort and the slopes.

We are so bummed we could only stay 1 night because the views are absolutely breathtaking!!! We chose a Mountain View pull-through site and are so happy we did! Dog park is a decent sized fenced in grassy area and there are trails all around the park with epic views. The only downside was getting here. We were coming from Arizona & Angel Fire is in the valley so lots of curvy mountain roads, which is to be expected. However they are doing road construction so it was very narrow & difficult to navigate if you have a big rig like us!
