This nice little RV park, is located right outside of Taos and has stellar morning and evening views of the sun peaking through the mountains. The hosts were so pleasant and explained how to circumvent the construction on the main road through town. It's a few miles from the Royal Gorge Bridge, and in the other direction, the Taos Pueblo. It was so quiet at night, even though it's right on US64, an occasional car. Not an issue. The skies were so perfect for star gazing as it's far from the Taos city lights, I could even see the veil of the Milky Way. It was amazing. I would definitely recommend this to any traveler. They have full pull through sites, back-in, and a few sheltered tent sites. read more

This is a great family run and very clean RV park. The spaces are huge and very wide. I had my trailer parked in one lane, my truck in another lane and still had a 3rd lane available. Packed in like sardines couldn't be further from the truth. The restroom and private shower were spotless. They have a nice little store with all the goodies, including the most sought after goody of them all...ice cream!! Gated entry is always a plus. The wonderful owners were very pleasant and accommodating. I found the surrounding views very pleasant. Road noise was minimal, but most of these places are located off a roadside, no big deal. I will return when I'm in the area. Great home base to explore the enchanted circle or to hike up to Wheeler Peak. read more

It's quiet here and that's what I love. Most people staying here are easy going and quiet. If they don't have a reservation online, call them. They have spots that have partial hookups and they will let you stay there. The views are stunning and so is the location. You can feel off the grid with full hookups. The owners are very sweet and the pace is slower here so be patient. We will stay here next time we're in Taos. read more

Showed up shortly before office closure. Door locked. No sign. Called biz phone a couple times before I got an answer. Despite space being obviously available, they wouldn't provide us a space for the night. Referred us to an RV park that closed an hour earlier than they did. We were tempted to just park/camp in the lot in front of their building knowing there was obviously no one around working the property and it didn't look much different than the park itself (ie parking lot)...Worked out in the end as we found a far prettier, wind-free, and $-free site, but what a sad customer service experience. As we have taken to the RV weekend warrior lifestyle over the past year we have encountered a decent amount of RV parks each offering its own little nuances. We made a reservation for Taos Monte Bello sight unseen and just kinda like a dart throw type guessing system luckily we hit a bullseye. This RV park is situated outside Taos in El Prado, a few miles from the Rio Grande Gorge bridge (beautiful), and a few minutes outside of Taos a short drive to Wild Rivers BLM, and around 1-2 hours to Great Sand Dunes National Park. We were originally going to stay for 3 nights then go Boondock on BLM however thanks to Rona we ended up staying longer, a happy circumstance. We were here in early July so there were daily spot showers which were a non-factor, but overall the weather was gorgeous. The sunsets were some of the best Ive ever seen and enjoyed right from the campground This place has 19 sites which is good and they are 44 ft wide except the one we stayed in which was 70 and level. The owners Mr. and Mrs Torres are spectacular and a treat to deal with they do whatever they can to make your stay comfortable. The cost was very reasonable at $39 per night. The views from here could not have been any better. My favorite thing about the place was how well it is maintained very neat and organized. So no place is perfect Taos Monte Bello has only one little thing that keeps it from perfection and that is a little highway noise, But and this is very big but, it is NOT constant and its only there if you think about it. We really enjoyed our stay and if ever in Taos again this is our go to place. read more

We are full-time RV'rs and frequent as many as 40 to 60 campgrounds a year of all types.........without a doubt this campground receives high marks across the board. There are I believe 19 or 20 sites at this location, it is perched atop a small knoll which positions itself for absolutely remarkable sunsets. The camp hosts and the owner are incredibly friendly and extremely helpful not only during the registration and set up process but also directing where to go in Taos for great food, entertainment and sightseeing. The main building houses the registration, a well-stocked convenience store, the laundry and the showers. The bathrooms are absolutely flawless, extremely clean and just what is needed when you want a hot shower. The laundry area is similarly clean with sofas and reading material. I would only add though that perhaps a second washer and dryer would be nice so as not to take so long doing the laundry (my six-year-old son can generate a lot of laundry LOL). They only charge a $1.25 to wash and same to dry. All of the spaces at this location are pull through and all but three sites have full hookups. We are in site five which does not have a sewer connection nor does number six or number seven but in all honesty when we return to this location we will likely select one of those three sites as it positions your RV for some rather spectacular views of the sunset. There is an entertainment area at the center of the park with barbecue grills, tables and lounge chairs and is a comfortable place to relax, barbecue and enjoy the evening. For us the Wi-Fi was nearly perfect, not many RV parks have as good and as reliable Wi-Fi as this park does. It does slow down slightly in the evenings but over all we remained connected and it was nice to not have to use our Verizon hotspots. There is good spacing between the RVs and overall would give this park a 10 out of 10. The owner or owners are very proud of their park and it shows, do not hesitate to make a reservation for this location it will be time well spent. read more

My daughter and I chose to camp here when we visited Taos. We thought we would spend a night or two as we toured Taos' galleries and the Taos Pueblo. Due to the highly welcoming nature of the park's owner, John, as well as the park's manager, Bobby, we ended up spending 4 nights there! They were both very warm and hospitable, giving us local's tips and hints to catch local events. We made it part of our routine to hang out with them in the mornings! The park itself has spotless bathrooms, with spacious showers, as well as a coin-operated washer-and-dryer. Since we were camping and occasionally the wind would blow hard, we were happy they had constructed a 3.5-sided fenced wind break for each of the 4 campsites. If you're near Taos and want to spend a night or more, I fully recommend Monte Bello whether you're camping or in an RV! read more

We keep reading how great the management is. There's a sign in their office that says "Be Kind!" We experienced zero kindness. Example 1: We asked to move to a different site upon arrival. it was less expensive than what we'd reserved & paid for, but the view was so much better we didn't mind paying more. We were told "no, you can't move". We asked if the site was reserved, the answer was "no". We were told we couldn't move there because it messed up their "book". We asked, again, because the answer just didn't make sense. The response was an agitated "you're asking for too much!" Example 2: Our confirmed reservation was for Tues - Fri nights, leaving Sat morning. Friday afternoon, owner knocked on our door and said in an angry voice, "why are you still here? You were supposed to leave this morning. You need to leave NOW!" We showed him our confirmation email, but that wasn't good enough; we had to follow him to the office so his wife could confirm she knew we were staying until Sat. morning. How was this kind? Bottom line, very poorly run business. read more

This was our 3rd time visiting this RV park. The first two times were excellent. This last time, not so good. Our reservation dates were messed up, we did not have working water, and we were initially overcharged and had to wait for a refund through our bank. It is a nice park, very clean and great views. Maybe on this visit they were burned out from all the summer visitors. Not sure, but we're disappointed in the service. read more

This desert park is pretty basic and we were prepared for that from other reviews: it's located on top of a mesa with no trees, no shade, dusty and VERY windy. The sites are close and have no privacy, so it's important to have considerate neighbors. Unfortunately for us, the on-site host did nothing about the site occupant next to us who got up at 6:00AM and decided to do repair work on his truck engine along with lots of slamming doors, revving engines, driving in and out to test his repair work, etc. This noise and repair job continued for over 3 hours. When we complained to the on- site host, whose site is situated directly behind the offending repairman, he was rude asked why we didn't complain to him at 6:00AM and proceeded to use language that is not fit to print. Needless to say, we were very disappointed by how we were treated. The positives are the clean restrooms and laundry. read more

Stumbled on this place by accident. What a find!! The beauty of the surroundings is beyond words. Nestled in amount mountains that change color with every passing cloud, sunrise and sunset,I It is a small RV park with only 19 slots. They are roomy and well thought out. The main building has a small convenience store, a male and female bathroom and a laundry room. There is only one bath for males and one for females. But only having one has not seemed to be a problem. One toilet, one shower. But the best RV bathrooms I have seen. The room are large and you can do anything you need to do in there. The owners are pleasant and helpful (we were stuck for two of our four days because of food poisoning and they offered to go to the store for us). There is one washer and one dryer. only $1.00 for each. Everything is clean and the grounds are well maintained. John is retired military and they decided this park would give them something to do. He cleared a path that is a mile semi-circle out into the scrub. My dog and I have walked it several times. When you get to the half-mile point, take a deep breath and stop and look around. The peacefullness and tranquility, along with the beauty will leave you feeling serene and relaxed. The location is central to most of the activities and Taos is small enough it really doesn't matter. I would love to come back to this area. Could spend two weeks just sitting here and enjoying the view. Very quiet at night and far enough out you can see the stars very clearly! read more

Good wifi coverage with minimal packet loss (outside of peak times of course). Very friendly and helpful owners and host. AT&T LTE coverage. Ten minutes from everything you want to see. Downsides: very windy at times (as expected in the mountain West). Small playground and no pool. read more

I found this place as the sun was setting (I had a tent to set up). The man who ran the park was incredibly accommodating and sweet. It is mainly an RV park, there were only 3 tent sites and I was the only one. The tent sites are under wooden structures, almost like an open barn stall. Great for helping to keep out rain and feeling a bit more private and protected. The facilities are amazing: 2 FULL bathrooms with a big hot shower, laundry, WiFi, a lounge, a little store. I felt safe and comfortable. For about $20 a night, this really can't be beat. The sunset/sunrise view is BEAUTIFUL as well. read more

when we arrived in Taos looking for a campsite and stumbled upon this wonderful place, the owner escorted us to the site to see if it was what we wanted. This is the only RV Park I've ever stayed at that takes a meter reading and charges for electricity on a weekly rate. There is also a pretty hefty state tax added to the rate. Our weekly went from a base of $226.80 to $269.30 once taxes and electric were added! Our site was also not level. Aside from that, the views are great, there is a nice walking trail and the one bathroom is nice and clean. read more

Amazing facility. The sites at this little gem are very generous and the scenery is magnificent! Most importantly, while you are a guest here you will be treated with personal service by the owners. We were shown the best routes to local attractions. As we were not towing a vehicle with our motorhome, we were also directed where in town to park our motorhome to sightsee. Now for the spotless bathrooms with residential-type facilities (secured with passcode) and laundry facility (equipped with comfortable upholstered furniture). Unbelievably spotless! I felt right at home both in the "laundry room" with ironing board/iron as well as at the passcode secured grounds. We will most definitely keep Monte Bello RV Resort on our list of favorite stays! read more

We planned to stay at Taos Monte Bello RV since it has good easy access to skiing. We booked our site in advance since it was during Christmas and New Years. The day we were arriving, we were delayed and would not make it to the rv park until 6:30 pm, so we called to let Monte Bello know of our arrival time. The woman who answered was obviously upset with our late arrival and told us it was a great inconvenience to stay until we arrived. Monte Bello closes at 5:00 along with the security gates. Since we were registered and credit card given, we asked for the security gate code and was told no we could not have it since we have not "officially" registered. The woman then suggested that we stay the night somewhere else and come to Monte Bello the next day. To us, this was absurd and not an option so we contacted the other RV park in Taos. We were greeted in an entirely different way. We have been camping/rv'ing for many years and we have never experienced a rv park closing at a specific time and not accommodating late arrivals. We have always had our sire information set up on a bulletin board or in a box with the expectation that you physically register the next morning. We called Monte Bello back to let them know that we were cancelling our five day reservation. We explained that the other rv park was more than happy to have us and work with the late arrival - the woman said thank you and hung up. In my opinion, this is not how a rv park, who has travelers coming and going every day from all over the US, does business. Will we stay at Monte Bello - never! Will we stay at the other rv park off of HWY 68 and Este Es - YES! read more
