The staff here is very friendly and helpful. The park is nicely maintained and a good layout with mature landscaping. Not a lot of shade, some sites have little to none. Very competitive pricing for the area. The bathrooms are very clean. Overall a nice place. So why only 3 stars? The site I was in along the side fence has a gravel road outside it with mobile homes across the street. Cars and trucks grinding up and down it during the day and evening. The gentleman who lives behind my site worked on a dirt bike then spent the day going up and down the street every hour or so, loudly. The house next door has a large dog that barks regularly. Woke me up at 2am. This is not a peaceful place on this side of the park. If I was going to be here more than a day I would have to move. Just be aware you don't want to stay in sites 18-24 if you like peaceful days and quiet nights. Not the park's fault but can't recommend staying if they give you one of these spots. Disappointed, but glad I shortened my stay when I checked in based on their strict early departure policy. read more

June 9, 2023 - Taos Valley RV Park (Taos, NM) We arrived at Taos Valley RV Park a little after noon. When we got to the checkin counter, we were greeted by Kelly, who was very helpful getting us checked in and sharing some information about the park and the area of Taos, including places to go and eat. They have a store at the main office that has some snacks and ice and lots of reading materials. It's a nice park with both RV and tent spaces. Our space was a pull through and had full hookups. The road to the sites and all the sites themselves are gravel. The gravel is a little larger size than normal, which our little spaniel had a bit of a hard time walking on for some reason. Might work out better for a larger dog. The vegetation is very nice with dessert sage and mature 10 to 15 foot trees. All sites have a picnic table and three-foot hight barbecue grill. Our site, 56, was facing directly at site 55, which was a little awkward. Great way to become fast friends with your neighbors if that's what your looking for. We had two neighbors during our three night stay, and we were lucky they were friendly and tried not to intrude on our space. There is a separation fence between picnic tables there, but depending on how far your rigs are pulled in, you may be spending a lot of time with each other. I liked the overall vibe of the park, which is set far enough back from the main highway that there wasn't highway traffic noise. I would come back. read more

This is where we stayed: Here is the updated review you need to read. First of all, the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Second, they do not charge you extra for electricity. However, a warning or a just be aware, this park is pretty close quarters. We are in a 43 foot motorhome and our space was a Buddy space. We had to use two sewer hoses to reach the drain and it was slightly up hill. Speaking of hill, we never got truly level. Our coach tried its best but wasn't happening. Checkout the pics of the people with their tires actually in the air! With that being said, it's a clean park with a great staff. I believe it is the best in Taos. read more

This was such a nice park! Clean bathrooms and laundry and checking in after hours check in was so easy. We enjoyed the hiking path.

Stayed here for a month. Think it was $800 plus electric but hey money is no object!! LOVED LOVED LOVED the sites. They were well spaced with lots of high desert vegetation between sites. Didn't particularly care for the way all the sites were set up for buddy camping but at least the sites were spacious. Seemed clean and well maintained to me. There is free buses running into town provided by the town or government of some sort but they don't run on weekends and a long wait between buses but there are sidewalks all the way into town if you care to walk We paid for monthly and had metered electric at 22kwh wow that was high I loved the place and location was super for me read more

It's way overpriced! For 2 nights was $105.58! PLUS electricity! Way over priced in my opinion and for larger rigs bring pruning shears so you don't scratch your rig trying to maneuver in the tight spots. It is not well maintained as the shrubs and tree are overgrown. We would recommend another park and will not be returning. Oh and you pay .22 cents a kilowatt PLUS tax on that! read more

We are so impressed with this RV park. We don't normally stay at RV parks, preferring to be in parks etc. however this was a wonderful experience! The owners are travelers themselves and have thought of everything you would need, having done this themselves. We are on a three month road trip in our van. Taos didn't have a lot of options, but wow are we glad we found Taos Valley RV. Close to town but nice sites with plants and concrete picnic pads. Good job!! We will be back! read more

We would not recommend staying in this RV park. Very expensive, approximately $ 106.00 for two nights. Then after that expense, they told us that we were responsible for the electricity we used, it would of been nice to be told this up front. Park not maintained properly, shrubs and trees need to be trimmed back to keep from scratching the sides of your RV. Found personal to be short and rude. Water valve not able to be turned on, had to seek help to get water turned on. Dirt roads in the park are very narrow with tight turns. No place to park my truck on the site. We stayed here for 5 days. The park itself is well maintained. However, that's where the pluses end. The turns are extremely tight if you have a larger travel trailer or fifth wheel. But the worst part is the staff are extremely rude. We stayed during the COVID-19 pandemic so the park was only at about 25% capacity. However that wasn't due to the pandemic as much as the office staff went out of their way to snap at customers over the phone with one word sentences snarling about check out time being at 11am... they called us at 11:16a as we were hooking up after giving them a weeks worth of business. And the park was empty. Also, they CHARGE FOR ELECTRICITY FOR OVERNIGHT GUESTS... on top of the nightly rate. It's ridiculous. I sincerely hope this place goes out of business. read more

Really nice owners and so close in town. They gave us a list of things to do in the area and a best of Taos magazine, both which were very helpful since it was our first time in Taos. I also appreciated that they have a laundry room - coin operated at that - so didn't have to mess with downloading an app or getting a prepaid card. They have rolls of quarters you can buy in the office. Pretty quiet place and nice view of the mountains. We have a 30 ft travel trailer and a Tundra truck and fit into our space fine. I would not recommend this RV park if you have a large RV. It is extremely tight and NOT big rig friendly. Very narrow getting in and out. The front desk is completely ridiculous and called me at 11:02 am to tell me check out time was 11 am. I asked if they were seriously calling me two minutes past check out time? Our slides were all in and we were packing up to leave. I very much did not appreciate that call and on top of how narrow and tight it was getting in and out I would never recommend or go back. read more

We stayed here for one night in June 2019 in an RV. I knew we would be arriving late, so I called to make a same-day reservation. They called back and got me set up. Site seemed fine, except that we were on the perimeter that has homes on the other side of the fence. Lights on all night, and cars coming and going noisily for such a small alleyway. The main disappointment was the shower. While the toilets and sinks were good, the shower head in the last stall was TERRIBLE. It simultaneously misted and spit painfully, making it hard to dampen my hair and breathe at the same time. Probably the worst shower of my entire life. I'd stay here again. Really probably 3.5 stars. I'm very picky when it comes to campgrounds. This one was ok. I mean come on you are in the desert, what are you expecting. PROS: Staff was friendly, not overly, but ok and did their job. Close to town. Not walking distance, but closer than the other campgrounds I checked out. Price was ok, $100 for 3 nights, electric and water. We were in site 23, a small back in, but away from all the big rigs. Most of the time we were way out there by ourselves, backed up to open space, although there was a fence between us. The internet actually worked. I only tried it to review didn't hang out on it. There was brush around the place and a few trees, not too bad. Clean Not much road noise, but did seem like a lot of sirens for a small town. CONS: The showers ceiling had a lot of black mold. The shower itself wasn't too bad. I would have liked more hooks for hanging my dry clothes. Toilet seat was broken. Some of the doors didn't have locks. Closest good fishing is about 15 miles away, up north. Although it's not the campground's fault. I said the price was a pro, but it's a con too, $100 for camping? When did camping become so expensive? Overall if I had to go to Taos again, I'd stay here. Check out the map on their website and pick a site, we are glad we did. read more

Do not stay here! Park charges additional fees for electrical power at a rate which far exceeds normal! For two nights, we paid $52/night for the site and then we were charged an additional $146 for TWO nights worth of electricity! You are better off parking your rig and getting a hotel room. The electrical fees charged are four times what our fees are, in Denver in winter, for an entire 3000 sq ft house! Do not be caught like we were. What a rip off! Even if you read the fine print...that there is an fee for electrical usage...there is no way to imagine the way this place will gouge you on electrical rates! read more

Likely one of the few RV parks in the United States that charges extra for electricity! Having stayed one night, we have not received our final credit card charge for this dump, but from what I gather from other reviewers we may be facing an electric fee exceeding the space rental. The staff keeps bankers hours, so if you have a problem after 4:00 pm your are on your own, especially for such delightful surprises as a stopped up, filthy toilet in the women's room. The denizens of this park all seem to be semi-permanent, and are of the caliber you would expect from such a situation. Locks on the bathroom/shower doors are non-functional; why not just remove them if you have no intention of using them? As the afternoon wanes and evening approaches, expect a cacophony of howls and barking from the adjacent neighborhood, which appears to be as sketchy as this gravel heap masquerading as a travel facility. read more

The sites were small and bare bones with few trees or any attempt at desert landscaping. The baths seemed clean but it was scary trying to find your way to the restrooms in the pitch black Taos nights. Just seemed kind of sad and worn. We will not stay here again. read more

We stayed here for 2 months in a 42' class A. We were in site 80 which is the last one in a row, the site was a challenge to get the coach level on. It took some big blocks on the front to do it. The site has a clear view toward the north and the main road through town several hundred yards away, therefore a good view with road noise. One side of the park has a daycare across the fence which is open all summer and a multi grade school over the north fence open during regular school dates. The campground looks like an old KOA, they are working on cutting back trees and sagebrush but still have a ways to go. Some of the turns are tricky for big rigs. The main draw is the $600+ per month charge and $75 for electric. The wi/fi is variable but not bad. There are good restaurants in easy driving distance. The traffic through town can be bad. If we go back to Taos we would stay there again. Your options are limited. read more

I really think this is a nice park - close to Taos center, quiet, good size sites, and clean. However after an email or two and a phone call that explained that 2 of us would be sleeping in a small van and 2 would be sleeping in a small tent, we were never told that they would charge us extra for the tent on our site! Imagine my surprise to find out I owed and extra $52 plus change when I went to pay my bill. Places need to be upfront about their policies, ESPECIALLY when they advertise 2 small tents or a maximum of 6 people per site. I feel they were taking advantage of the influx of concert goers for an Alabama Shakes concert. This is no way to make people want to return to Taos- by ripping them off. I sent an email to the RV park explaining my dismay in their charging us and asking for a refund and then still have not replied after a week. Beware. read more
