We had heard there was a Bavarian Lodge in the hill so off we went. We made a reservation not knowing what it would be like. We walked around where we could and it's beautiful. It was also nice and cool. Them at our reservation time, we were greeted by a super friendly host and sat on the deck. The views were stunning and the weather was lovely. I ordered a glass of wine and my husband got a beer. We ordered schnitzel with fries. It was perfectly cooked and seasoned. We enjoyed every bite and the leisurely lunch in a beautiful setting was just what we needed. If we are ever this way again, we'll be stopping here for the views the friendly service and the delicious food.

The property is very nice otherwise, but it is not acceptable to be expected to pay $262.59 for a bug-infested room. Fortunately, the management agreed and refunded the entire amount.

A few weeks ago, my girlfriend and I tagged a long with my family and stayed at Three Bears for the week. The staff is fantastic, accommodating, and very friendly! My girlfriend and I stayed in an efficiency (#10 I believe) that backed up right to the Copper lift. The efficiency was very cozy and a great place to kick off the boots after a long day of snowboarding. One of the nights we were there, Three Bears had Smores Night and it was AMAZING. I will always stay at Three Bears anytime I am in Red River.

They got me the type of room I wanted with no problem. The rooms were clean and nice. They had a home style breakfast in the morning,  cooked by a staff person. It has the  good stuff like waffles, bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, bagels, toast and fruit.   I have to say I was very pleased that the attention the staff made to making sure breakfast food was hot plentiful and available. it was like a restaurant. The room's itself had all the space I needed and  a Mini refrigerator and coffee maker which I use. Everything was working just fine and very clean  I was impressed with the staff and their willingness to try to help me in any way that it could the hotel was great and made for relaxing stay. If you're using Google maps it can be a little hard to notice just look up for the sign. If you're low on gas you might want to top off before leaving town.

During our stay, the hotel was nearly empty, which made the long second-floor hallway, old doors, creaking floors, and deep silence feel especially dramatic. At one point, I caught the unmistakable scent of rose perfume in the hallway. It appeared for only a second and then vanished completely. The hotel has long been associated with stories of unexplained rose fragrance, and experiencing it firsthand was unforgettable. Later that evening, four frightened college students asked us to investigate noises and a shadow they believed they had seen in their room. We found nothing supernatural, but they were frightened enough to leave the hotel in the middle of the night. Our own qualifications as paranormal investigators were somewhat compromised by martinis. I also searched unsuccessfully for a rumored trap door beneath the carpet and managed a brief look into the hotel's supposedly forbidden room. No ghosts appeared, but I did emerge from the carpet covered in decades of dust. The entire experience was funny, eerie, memorable, and completely unique to the St. James, and I have returned several times. What stays with me most is the feeling of the place. Some hotels provide lodging. The St. James gives you a story.

We had planned this trip for 6 weeks. I have been to 20 plus concerts; this information did not really concern me at all. Concerts last maybe 2-3 hours tops, and end at the latest at 10 pm, and after all this is a historic hotel? We heard the music 100 yards away at 3 pm on our way there, we thought so it started already, and would probably be done by 6 pm. We were very wrong, apparently there were numerous bands one right after the other until 11:45 pm? They were very loud and played for 8.5 hours in the middle of the hotel, in their courtyard nonstop. We are reasonable people, but this was a hotel! If the music would have stopped within a reasonable time frame, even 10 pm, this review would not have posted. Not only that but the restaurant served chicken tenders, tacos, nachos, and hot wings, nothing else? This event was poorly planned, poorly executed, with poorly communicated, with a serious lack of professionalism, and just plain all about the money they could make selling liquor, with no consideration for their patrons. If we were told there would be no real food to eat, and the concert would last until midnight, I would have nothing to complain about. I think we got maybe 5 hours of sleep that night as a group. Shame of the owners and Management of this hotel, hopefully they will start putting their faithful patrons above the chance to make some extra money at their expense.

I started looking for a place to stay in Taos and the hotel in ski resort caught my attention. Yes, almost 30 minutes drive from downtown was a bit of dilemma, but deep inside I knew spending a day in ski resort during summer is one of the best decisions. The front desk was extremely helpful, they reached out to me first arranging my late check In. I felt immediately welcomed and I could not wait to go there! The rooms were so clean, spotless and comfortable, they have a patio with bbq, sauna and jacuzzi. The mountain air filled my soul, it was so fresh and pure, the water at the resort itself was very tasty. We also ended up visiting Williams lake. I recommend this place 100000000000%. Thank you for making my New Mexico travel experience extra incredible and unforgettable!

Parking is relatively close (a 3 minute walk) and it's pretty much ski-in/ski-out (it's a 2 minute walk to the lifts)! And there is a coffee shop, market (grocery), and a couple bars/restaurants all within a 2 minute walk! Staff is friendly, although not always around... so get what you need while they are there during daytime hours! Travis T. and I had a loft room... and after I saw the steep climb up the ladder to the loft, I wisely let him have the loft (I had a torn meniscus, so I had to rest it... for some long days of skiing!). The pull-out sofa bed wasn't the most comfortable, but I learned to switch sides every night to maximize my sleep experience. I would stay here again next time in Taos! *****FIVE STARS*****

We had a terrible situation in that we arrived in Angel Fire at 10pm to our booked VRBO rental. We were shocked to find it occupied by another family who had booked it through AirBNB .
