I haven't actually stayed at this hotel but I did recently work with someone from the hotel over…read morethe weekend (her name is Lauryn). We had some dear friends who were staying at the hotel and celebrating their anniversary. They mentioned where they were staying and I thought, I should call that place up and try to surprise my friends with something delivered to their room! I never really know who to ask to speak to for something like this so I just called and told the person who answered what I wanted to do. He immediately put me in touch with Lauryn. (Kudos to that guy who knew who I should be transferred to.) Lauryn wasn't there so I left a message. She called me back promptly, within 5 minutes. I told her what I was thinking and told her the name of the guests. Lauryn said she had met one of my friends earlier that morning and said she already knew about the anniversary and was in the process at that very moment of sending them a bottle of bubbly on the house. Immediately, I thought, this is a class act! I asked Lauryn if she could arrange to have a basket full of cheeses and meats delivered and maybe some fruit. She mentioned that there was an organic grocery store next door and that she would be happy to pick some items up for me. I told her the types of salami, cheeses, and other items that I thought they would like. She said no problem. Within 30 minutes, she sent me a picture of what she bought, took off all the price tabs and quickly bundled things up in a basket and had it delivered to them! Lauryn did something else that was really nice too but this review is already long and I think the description above will shed plenty of light on the type of top quality service you can expect when you come to The Blake. At the end of the day, you can own a 5 star hotel but if that hotel doesn't have exceptional staff members to help the guests out (and in this case, their friends from another state), you don't really have a 5 star hotel. All I can do is give them a 5 star review. I definitely know that I want to make a special trip here just so I can hand Lauryn a nice tip to thank her for helping me out so much!

We were so excited to return this year. Their menu has changed dramatically. Offering only 5 main items for dinner. We ordered the duck - which was so tiny. We had the tomorow and cucumber salad. It was wedged tomatoes and maybe 6 slices of cucumber for $24. We also had the tuna - it was served with cantaloupe..... was not great. Overall it was expensive and very little food and it was not good.

It was fun to wander around and look at the old photos and artifacts, plus the downstairs hallway with rooms named for some famous guests who stayed at this old adobe hotel during its wild heyday. Food was pretty good. Had a salad and added a chili relleno for $5. It was very well prepared, although the salad of mostly spring mix, a few cucumbers and tomatoes was not worth $14. Partner had a steak--said it was ok. "Seasonal vegetables" were just plain kernal corn. Giving this place three stars for food, but the historic charm is the real reason to give it a try. The restaurant was only open Thursday through Saturday in February, so check hours if you want to eat. You can also just stop by and take a look in the lobby and parts of the hotel. The staff doesn't mind.

Some of the rooms e.g Jesse James room are open to view from behind a velvet rope. There is a faint odor of Mary Lambert's perfume wafting through the hall way. There is a restaurant with a bar, bullett holes still on the ceiling. 27 people were killed in this hotel in days gone by and anyone that was anyone from the Wild West visited here. A must for fans of the West, manage your expectations and you won't be disappointed.

I started looking for a place to stay in Taos and the hotel in ski resort caught my attention. Yes, almost 30 minutes drive from downtown was a bit of dilemma, but deep inside I knew spending a day in ski resort during summer is one of the best decisions. The front desk was extremely helpful, they reached out to me first arranging my late check In. I felt immediately welcomed and I could not wait to go there! The rooms were so clean, spotless and comfortable, they have a patio with bbq, sauna and jacuzzi. The mountain air filled my soul, it was so fresh and pure, the water at the resort itself was very tasty. We also ended up visiting Williams lake. I recommend this place 100000000000%. Thank you for making my New Mexico travel experience extra incredible and unforgettable!

Alpine Village Suites was a terrific find! **pats myself on the back**…read more Prices were reasonable for the area... and the location is fantastic! Parking is relatively close (a 3 minute walk) and it's pretty much ski-in/ski-out (it's a 2 minute walk to the lifts)! And there is a coffee shop, market (grocery), and a couple bars/restaurants all within a 2 minute walk! Staff is friendly, although not always around... so get what you need while they are there during daytime hours! Travis T. and I had a loft room... and after I saw the steep climb up the ladder to the loft, I wisely let him have the loft (I had a torn meniscus, so I had to rest it... for some long days of skiing!). The pull-out sofa bed wasn't the most comfortable, but I learned to switch sides every night to maximize my sleep experience. I would stay here again next time in Taos! *****FIVE STARS*****
