We found this place online at resnexus.com as well Yelp and stalked their website, loved the photos, read the reviews, and immediately felt relieved when we arrived. The Piñon Casita was adorable, the property itself is beautiful, breakfast was delicious, and the hosts seemed friendly. For the first hour or so I was thinking, Thank goodness, we finally found the place. Unfortunately, things slowly started going downhill from there. The first night, the fireplace wouldn't work. We messaged the hosts, sent photos, tried troubleshooting it ourselves, and eventually just gave up and accepted we'd be having a fireplace-free evening. It wasn't the end of the world, and we figured hey, stuff happens. The next day they came and fixed it, which we appreciated. Then came the washer. One of the reasons we were excited about this casita was because it included a washer and dryer. Earlier in the week we'd already spent time at a laundromat, so we were looking forward to doing laundry before our 8-hour drive home. We started a load and got a 4E error less than halfway through the wash. We looked it up ourselves, we tried troubleshooting, we messaged the hosts, we followed their suggestions, and we tried different cycles. At this point I felt less like a guest and more like the on-call appliance technician. They eventually told us the washer had been fixed while we were out hiking, so we were excited to finally do laundry. Spoiler alert it wasn't fixed. Same error. We tried again later that evening. Same issue. Then around 11 PM the washer completely shut off and locked our wet laundry inside. We messaged the hosts again because we were supposed to leave the next morning after breakfast and start an 8-hour drive home. The response that frustrated us most wasn't even the broken washer, it was being told that because we hadn't specifically mentioned on the phone that we intended to use the washer and dryer, (And she said that they don't accept same day bookings, but made an exception for us, though that was never communicated nor was this a policy written anywhere on their website) compensation wouldn't be considered. Respectfully, if an amenity is advertised, guests shouldn't have to announce ahead of time that they plan on using it. That's like asking if the shower works before booking because you intend to shower. We weren't asking for a huge refund. We weren't asking for hundreds of dollars back. Even a small gesture of goodwill $50 to $100 off the stay would have gone a long way and would have shown that they understood the inconvenience. Instead, we paid full price despite having a fireplace that didn't work the first night and a washer/dryer that never functioned properly during our stay. To add to that, there were also multiple spiders and bugs inside the casita. I understand this is the countryside and bugs exist. Trust me, I get it. But after literally leaving our previous accommodation because of bugs, it wasn't exactly what we hoped to deal with again. The next morning our laundry was still trapped in the washer. Eventually my boyfriend ended up figuring out the breaker issue himself after staff told us where the breaker panel was located. We rushed to get our laundry spun and dried before checkout, but they still weren't completely dry. So instead of leaving relaxed after a nice getaway, we ended up starting our 8-hour drive home later than planned with damp laundry shoved into a trash bag. The frustrating part is that this review could have been completely different. The property is beautiful, the breakfast was genuinely fantastic, the casita itself is cute and cozy. And honestly, if the hosts had simply acknowledged the inconvenience and offered even a small amount of compensation, I probably would've happily overlooked most of this. Instead, we left feeling like the burden of fixing the problems fell on us while still paying full price for amenities we couldn't properly use. It's a lovely property, but unfortunately the way these issues were handled means we won't be returning.

I was a little leery of this boutique transformation of the old Indian Hills Motel property, but we were just blown away by how nice Hotel Willa is; kudos to Casetta Hotels! Every employee was friendly in a genuine way; the grounds and rooms are _spotless_ and the vibe is just wonderful. It's easy to forget you're in town . . . but it's a quick walk to the Plaza and great restaurants once you step out front. Free parking. Quiet and totally efficient heating and cooling (we used both in April). Fantastic sleep (it's QUIET) on a remarkably comfortable bed. TV has a variety of music, Netflix, Prime in addition to a variety of programming. The onsite restaurant Juliette is more than just a bar - yes, everyone raves about the green chile cheeseburger, but do yourself a favor and go deeper into the (reasonably priced!) menu. Free coffee in the morning. Tons of places to sit and relax. Hammocks. Sling chairs. Benches. Rocks. Gorgeous and well maintained landscaping. Great pool (heated) and hot tub/jacuzzi, plus exercise room and sauna/cold plunge. (The one suggestion for improvement is that the rain shower spatters outside the shower room a bit.) We'll be back - we've stayed in several Taos properties and enjoyed them to various degrees, but we've never found a place that "clicked" for us as well as Willa.

The sidewalk aren't great and there is a lot of traffic out on the main drag. So, most visitors will need to drive to town unless you are a little nuts like me. Taos is a cool town and a great place to land. This B & B was a cool nest to rest my bones, eat a lovely breakfast, and then to do my thing. There are supermarkets in a walkable distance. Just have to get across the very busy highway.

The B&B offers a small little cottage called the Garden Gallery that happened to also be the cheapest so we went with that. Small indeed, but it did the job. We were out an about most of the time anyway, so who needs a whole lot of space? There was a small queen bed pushed against the wall. There was a traditional kiva fire that you can burn wood in seasonally. The shower was pretty big and open. There was no tub however. I liked that there were a few windows that could be opened and allowed for fresh air. The TV worked and there was also a coffee maker and mini fridge in the cottage. Other rooms are larger and have more impressive amenities if that's your thing. They all have private outdoor entrances. There is a relaxing common area with a computer, TV, and a large selection of books and readings on local happenings. There was always fresh lemonade and ice tea avaliable as well as cookies in the common kitchen area. Outside of the large dining area is a small hot tub that wreaked of chemicals, we did not venture in! Our experience was great. The owner was so kind to us, he knew we had never done the B&B thing before. We had also never been to Taos. His knowledge of this town and surrounding areas was impressive. He helped us choose a dinner destination and also a few galleries to hit up. He also gave us some tips on things to do outside of town. He also introduced us to the resident peacock, dogs, and cats that wander on and off the grounds. The breakfast was delish! We had peach stuffed french toast that was to die for. The peaches tasted as thought they were just picked off the tree. We also had fresh squeezed juice and a variety of sides. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the B&B and will return for sure. Conveniently located, stocked apartment, easy to find manager - this just went so smoothly! We even had fresh roses in our room upon arrival. Loved having a was/dryer and a small hot tub on our patio. My only negative was the lack of a place to store my bags. They had a dresser and a bench but it was full of other towels and other managers tools/items. I'd love to at least have a fold out to put my suitcase on. The rental agency was excellent as well. When I wanted to add an additional night, they actually gave me a discount. If I'm ever back in Taos, I'd rent it again in a heartbeat!

From the stretch (yoga class before soaking) to soaking in 8 different pools to dining at the resort restaurant to shopping in the gift shop, everything exceeded my expectations where the only proper thing to do is to give it a perfect 5-star review. I bought the "soak and stretch" combo thing with 90-minute yoga class in a yurt. I paid the weekend pricing ($85) as I went here on a Sunday but it was all worth it as it turned out, I was the ONLY student in the class so I had an intimate 1-on-1 session with Julie, my instructor who made the class level so easy for me. It was also my first time to attend a yoga class in a yurt, certainly one-of-a-kind opportunity that I had never experienced in the past. A few pools were closed (one of them was the arsenic one), having access to 8 pools was plenty. My favorites were Soda pool (inclosed/covered) and Mud pool but frankly all pools have their own unique "healing" elements to them whereby immersing your whole body in them patiently, you will become a whole new person inside out. The locker rooms/showers/toilets etc. (in short, amenities) were all well-maintained and clean. The beach chairs were plenty throughout the resort. When not soaking, relax in one of them by simply sunbathing or do some reading. The surrounding environment is also a healing element to your eyes and mind. After soaking, head to the restaurant/wine bar for a nice meal (which I did. After yoga stretching and soaking in different pools, I sure was famished). My waiter, Jacob, was most polite and attentive to my needs. The Grilled Ruby Trout with a bed of wild rice is what I ordered and I cannot recommend it enough. This is a must-get item off the menu. A glass of Justin (red) wine ended up being a fantastic choice to accompany my meal. After my quick meal, I headed to the gift shop for a little souvenir. I got me one of the branded crop top tees (only $22 or so) to commemorate my visit to the resort for the first time (I had waited for almost 10 years before I could finally visit Ojo; it was simply way too long of a wait.) The final little thing I did was to walk around the property to take some awesome photos of the surrounding nature. Ojo's setting is simply breathtaking and spectacular. My trip to Taos area was too short. Had I had one more day, I would have done an all-day soaking, not just several hours. That is my only regret. Back in the hustle bustle life in Denver, I am already in need for another good soaking. I could go back to Ojo by tomorrow.

Thank you all for making my birthday and our 20 anniversary so amazing! everything was very nice except the food and drinks not so much. first time I was there on Monday afternoon, I waited 25 min. at least before even being acknowledge or even said anything to me. the bartender girl looked like she was very overwhelmed! and i ordered a grilled artichoke which was great! and i didn't mind waiting but found out the cider i was charged 8.60 for a cider they don't carry. and the young man who came in after was complaining about the gal who just left and didn't set up anything for him. he was nice as but the next day i came in to order dinner so i got the 22 buck smash burger and when i got it back to my room. it wasn't smashed it was an anemic 2 patty, it doesn't say on the menu it had 2 patty's and it wasn't even good at all. so i came in and told the guy and all he did was apologize. i should have asked for the manager but i thought he would have offered me to credit me or replace it. but nope. then I asked him if I could have a cider and he said 7+ some change so i asked him how come the girl charged me 860 and the guys like she shouldn't because we no longer have that cider they are great at being consistent with inconsistency's like the food/prices. than my fiancée showed up the next evening then i took back to the wine bar and we ordered another artichoke and i think all employees at the restaurant/wine bar seemed overwhelmed. but after we waited for a little bit we got the artichoke and it was was raw and tough, so i sent that back and then my man ordered fajitas. He ordered the steak and shrimp, but we got the combo chicken steak and shrimp and there was absolutely no flavor at all. and the chicken/ steak were not cut properly, they looked hacked up. at the same time we were ordering a very tall guy walks in kind of red hair and I guess it was the owner son and the young guy that was taking his order kind of catered to him not us because we waited a while again, but it's all good. The tall young man was very polite though!! the guys are aware that Guy was very nice but come on because the owner Son comes in and ordered a bunch of stuff. so after that i asked for a second artichoke and it was even colder but what ever! not even cooked but how do you grill an artichoke and have it underdone?. so our third night we came in and order a pizza the meat lovers well meat lovers ha ha ha really seven pieces of bad pepperoni and maybe eight pieces of of horrible Italian sausage. And then they don't give you any or offer us any Parmesan cheese or red pepper so here's the good part I went and I spoke to Santiago who was a young guy willing to help me and he said I can get you a container full of Parmesan cheese and red pepper. I said thank you so much. and it was so refreshing to have someone provide me with outstanding customer service skills. so it doesn't take much to make a guest feel special. ! so i asked him can i speak to your manager? this guy walks out, not really even caring what I was saying, but I said Santiago's outstanding employee, you can in his eyes. He wants to make people happy. I told him he is the best employee you have so far. and he goes I'll put that in my report and i shared you need help with your staff and their guest service skills. he said yes i do and walks out while i was still speaking with him, he had no clue i was an on-boarding master trainer for huge companies in calif, anyway these people need big help here judt because if they want to continue to be a luxury resort then they should hire luxury people luxury as in people who love to show up for work and want to create an experience for everyone at Ojo Caliente restaurant and hopefully the new mgr gal will do her magic. but the guy manager did not seem to care or he was over it! We had heard there was a Bavarian Lodge in the hill so off we went. We made a reservation not knowing what it would be like. We walked around where we could and it's beautiful. It was also nice and cool. Them at our reservation time, we were greeted by a super friendly host and sat on the deck. The views were stunning and the weather was lovely. I ordered a glass of wine and my husband got a beer. We ordered schnitzel with fries. It was perfectly cooked and seasoned. We enjoyed every bite and the leisurely lunch in a beautiful setting was just what we needed. If we are ever this way again, we'll be stopping here for the views the friendly service and the delicious food.
