Love the design and decor of this newly-renovated hotel. My in-laws have been visiting the area all their lives and have seen many different iterations of this building as a hotel. With Downtown Urbana located nearby, there are many things to do in this college town. Check- in was smooth, and staff were kind and responsive. I called down for additional coffee cups and they were delivered to our room right away. Around 9pm, we went for ice, and the machine on the 4th floor was empty. That was a bit frustrating, especially with the mini-fridge in our room being rather warm. It got cold after we turned the temperature dial down. There is no microwave in the room, but there is one available for use in the lobby, near the bar. The room has a motion- sensor light in the closet area that is dim enough for use during the night for trips to the restroom. I really liked that feature. The a/c pumps really cold air into the room, which we appreciated and the water pressure was good. I'd suggest bringing your own provisions with you. The sundry offerings in the lobby are being heavily taxed! A 16.9oz bottle of Sprite costs $4, a Haagen Daz ice cream bar will cost you $6, and the pints of ice cream are $8!

We used to come here when it was Jumers and always loved the "feel" of the hotel. We loved how they kept a lot of the charm of the exterior and interior. It has been modernized and brightened up, however, there are so many touches of the old Jumers hotel. You can walk to Black Dog for amazing BBQ and HMart to pick up some treats. The view from our room wasn't great, but not a deal breaker. It is attached to the old Lincoln Square mall, which is pretty vacant. Nice and quaint and would definitely stay again. Our only true complaint is about the restaurant. We had reservations for breakfast and when we got there a sign was posted it was unexpectedly closed. It would have been good to have been told that the reservations would be cancelled - again, not a deal breaker.

Everything was excellent - world class hotel in Urbana, IL. Did not try the restaurant since the prices were quite high.

They initially gave me a room with no bed (likely the living room area for a suite) and they immediately fixed the problem. Once I got into my room, it was relaxing and wonderful. The king rooms have a walk in shower and the twin queen bed rooms have a bathtub/shower combo. I mention this as those traveling with kids might prefer the tub option. Every room has a mini fridge. Traveling with little ones here is nice because they can offer a microwave in your room if requested. Made a big difference for us traveling with a young one. The gym is small but they do have a peloton bike among other equipment like free weights and other cardio equipment. Complimentary breakfast has warm savory options like egg burritos both with and without meat. They also offer oatmeal, fruit, yogurt and bagels with plenty of refreshments. Parking is free and easy to find. There's also a complimentary shuttle to take you to places on campus if you have no car. There are also bikes at the hotel to get around. All in all, we enjoyed our stay as did our guests for graduation.

Other than that, I loved that it is a Hilton hotel, and the fact that it was lower in cost for Hilton Honors members as I am currently. My experience with the receptionist working behind the desk was nothing less than professional. Since my room was already booked through Hilton Honors, the only thing check-in consisted of was a verification of my information, a briefing of what the hotel offers, and giving me my room key. For your information check-in starts at 3:00 PM and ends at 12:00 AM! And check-out ends at 12:00 PM! I must say that the hallway felt never-ending as I walked down it to locate my room; and the carpet had the softest cushion like feel. After locating and entering the room, I said to myself "Oh my God" once I took notice of the kitchenet area which appeared so elegant! It came with a full-sized refrigerator, dishwasher, a sink, a built-in electric cooktop, plus cabinets that came with dishware, and pots & pans inside. Now the furniture in the room gave the room a homely like feel which made me anticipate my stay with Homewood Suites. It was those things that totally charmed me out of my panties, tehehe. There were liquid products by Gilchrist & Soames Zero% inside of the shower attached to the wall. Seems like hotels have completely dealt away with the mini shampoo, bath soap, and conditioner products that made really great travel hygiene additions. Along with those notable things inside of the room, it met my cleanliness standards. I had no issues whatsoever getting comfortable in the king-sized bed during my stay as my head was engulfed in-between the comfortable pillows. While utilizing the shower, I really enjoyed the water pressure; its soothing pressure made me feel very cleansed during each usage. It was wonderful toggling with the spray patterns, with the addictive feel of the pressure hitting the inside of my ear, tehehe. Other things the room came with that I noticed were an iron, ironing board, an extra comforter, and a few lamps with electrical outlets. And the Wi-Fi internet was easy to connect to and not once did I have any connectivity issues with it during my stay. Homewood Suites, as expected, appeared immaculately beautiful! Leave it to me to forget my bathing suit, hindering me from swimming in the pool onsite even though I knew about it as I booked the room. It was great having a fitness center onsite because I was in dire need of a workout. And I was impressed to see the number of dumbbell weights, decent looking workout machines, and even a peloton fitness bike within. Served from 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM, it was a relief having the complimentary breakfast because I did not have to worry about finding a restaurant in the morning. And I was highly satisfied with the quality of what was presented. I would surely book with Homewood Suites by Hilton Champaign-Urbana again due to my experience with it because the hotel met my comfort needs, and I loved that its location is within an accessible distance of things of my interest in Champaign-Urbana. ~ Good vibes coming your way ~ Thomas G

The powdered eggs were sort of like if a person was expected to eat the fluff out of a fiber padded mailing envelope. Really surprising that that would be considered edible. The bacon, even though it was wafer thin, looked beautifully done and I figured a bagel with cream cheese and bacon would be OK. But even the bacon had no flavor, it wasn't even salty at all. The kitchen staff take a break, which I'm sure is well deserved. Don't get me wrong, right in the guest dining room, and unfortunately seem to be limited to the product of their labor. Nice friendly people, though. The desk clerk was very friendly and accommodating, no matter what time I came by or had to call. The room is clean and quiet. The fridge was not very cold, which is kind of the way they always are with those mini fridges, even though the temperature is set to the coldest setting. The surrounding area seemed safe and the hotel appears to be very popular with elderly people in particular. Being an elderly person, I must say that The combination of the sheets and the height of the bed seat on the mattress can be a death trap. It was impossible to sit on the side of the bed without sliding down towards the floor. This comes from the mattress being without proper support on the sides. The first time I turned on my side to roll out of bed I just about cracked my head open on the side table when I started sliding!!! Once I put a terry cloth towel down on the part of the mattress where you sit on the edge there was enough grip and I could stay up there so long as I could push my feet back to hold me onto the bed. It was a very weird experience.
