This pub's Rueben was a recommendation from someone I met at a winery a few months back. It's a sports bar nestled in a strip mall in Tigard off of 99. Typically, I wouldn't go to a sports bar on a Sunday afternoon during NFL playoffs but wanted somewhere close to take a friend. I was surprised most customers were non sports fans wanting good, wholesome food in large portions. The sandwich didn't disappoint and the fries were great. My only complaint would be that the 1 server had way too many tables to attend and she never came by with drink refills and we had to ask for water. A bar for night owls on the weekday. Last call was at 10:30pm on Monday, so it was nice to find a chill pub with alcoholic beverages and finger food. I got bauman's cider which was delicious. We ordered tots and 3 beverages. The total cost was $30! The Cajun tots were delicious and fresh. The bartender said that they changed the oil so we were in luck! read more

First time here. Came here for a quick drink and some appetizers. I didn't know what to order for a drink so the bartender lady made me a scooby snack, first time I ever heard of that drink lol. Awesome customer service she went out of her way to make up for a pina colada, it was a good ass drink, i ordered 2. Came here on a weekday so the place was a bit dead this was after dinner time. I was pleasantly surprised by my overall experience. First, our two servers were great. Since you're at an Irish bar, maybe try something different and experience and Irish cocktail. I suggest the Irish Maid, so refreshing especially in that tin cup. I try to eat healthy, but selection is slim at any pub. Nevertheless, the Shepard's Pie was very good and a generous portion. Ate here today, ordered off the menu, and SURPRISE, got the bill and one item was $$9 more than the menu price!! The waitress chose closing out to inform me "Oh yeah, new menus are being printed". Telling customers when ordering might have been the honest thing to do. Or, even easier, put a piece of tape over the incorrect prices and hand write the price you are going to charge. I regret eating here, regret leaving a 20% tip, and after 15 years of coming here, I'm done. Interesting way to run a business if you want return customers. read more

The food was good for being a pub and we made these observations sober. The service was good but waitresses need to "circle back" to check on those who ordered lunch. Since it's St Patrick's day a punch up would be to hear Celtic music rather than tribal drumming music. Corned beef was good & the shepherds pie was great. I've given this place more than a few opportunities to change my opinion. It's close to home and their food is good for a dive bar, but this last time put the nail in the coffin for me. Biggest issue? The girls that work there are just plain rude and indifferent for no reason at all. This time I could tell that they were talking shit about me and I was like WTF? Heads together, both looking directly at me and then a look if contempt. Other issue is that this time I ordered a cocktail instead of beer, a vodka gimlet, and the girl didn't even know what it was (deer in headlights), walked away and brought my drink which I swear was made with no simple syrup. So I choked it down and gave a 10% tip.... for the attitude problem. So ... Sad to say, I won't be back. But I doubt they'd give two sh*ts. read more

Horrible customer service and the food is less than mediocre. I've been here a few times due to convenience, however the staff has been rude, dismissive and hurtful for no reason. The soap dispensers in the restroom are usually empty. Gross! I won't be coming back. If you want salmonella or food born illness this is the place. read more

Service was great! I enjoyed my club sandwich. It was my first visit as I'm new to the area.

My boyfriend and I sat in a booth for lunch of 2 sandwiches and 2 beers. We were wrapped in our conversation and spoke to no one else. Food was expensive okay, nothing special. Two weeks later, a friend and I went to lunch there. With no greeting, the first thing that the waitress said was "you're not still dating that guy are you, he's a creep." How embarrassing and rude. Staff could use customer service skills. The worst customer service. So tired of paying for terrible service. What has happened to the food service industry? With the high prices and scary economy the management is clueless. Never again enter O'Brien's. read more

First time here my sister is a regular I got cut off because I quote "I couldn't read the menu." When i arrived. I said I was legally blind in one eye and couldn't read the small print. She served me 2 drinks after that over 3.5 hours but when I asked for a pilsner knowing I was not driving I was cut off over my other 3 peers who had 4 drinks and were offered more. Apparently asking for help on their green menu without ADA thoughtfulness was a bad idea. read more

Service here has always been spotty. I've never had the courage to try the food but heck, the beer is cold. Went last night for a beer or three and after paying went to the use the bathroom. Came back to the table and my phone had disappeared. Asked the waitress who didn't see it, asked if someone else could have cleaned off the table, again nope. The best thing I've ever seen regarding customer service in this place is the owner responding to comments on this app. We used to go here all the time and the terrible customer service was an ongoing inside joke until one day it just went too far. They're not just rude, they're cocky for some weird reason. And they're sloooooooooooow. Lazy slow. Bottom line is that there are plenty of places to go that are friendly and happy to have your business. The bummer is that we love the food here, but that too is replaceable. read more

This place made me feel so small. If you're not a regular or come in a large group don't come here. They won't serve you or even look at you. I stood at the bar for 20 minutes waiting for service while 5 different people/groups were served before me. I ended up leaving before they even noticed my existence. I've come here on many occasions when I left with a better taste and wanting to come back. But tonight, neither I or anyone that asks me about this place I guarantee will NOT be a customer. Alright came in again to give this place another chance. Well sad to say somehow they did worse then the time before I was here. Thr bar staff was incredibly rude. We were ignored for about 30mins. When we finally got to order a drink the bartender was really rude to my mother and told her to shut up and that she doesn't know what she's talking about when it came to a flavor perspective of a beer that we asked about. No one should talk to a customer like that ever. It's just sad cause the food is good here. But I won't be returning and won't be recommending this place to anyone ever again. read more

Xxx had a winter ale and their Irish stew. Service was really Good and quite prompt. The side sal's was fresh with a couple of cucumbers, croutons with real blue cheese in the dressing. The winter ale is good. The Irish stew was very good, made with beef instead of lamb with a luscious flavor. Served in a French bread loaf, it really hit the spot on a cold rainy night. All in all a very homey, comforting place with good old school pub food but quite diverse selections available from USA standards to Irish classics. A very friendly place surely deserving of more than the three stars so far awarded. read more

I went out of my way to go to JBs and had a good experience and their food was great so when I moved to the neighborhood I was excited to make this my spot. However, since moving closer I've gone about 5 times to try to make this place happen for me, but the food has taken a dive with everything being sloppy and greasy, my wife liked their cheesesteak but this last time she took 2 bites but couldn't do anymore and it's incredibly frustrating going to watch a game and nobody knows how to work their own TVs. I mean it looks like a sports bar but the staff doesn't seem to care about sports or know when a big game is on. The staff is usually pretty attentive and they come around quick with another drink. And don't get me started on the clientele, I haven't gone there and not overheard some bigoted conversation. read more

This is definitely an underrated gem- if you see the three star rating and drive by, you would probably think it's a "meh" place and just drive by. I did that for a couple of years, until I saw they were open until midnight on a Friday night (it is so hard in this area to find anything open later than 9pm, even bars and restaurants.) It is an Irish-themed pub- the decorations and feel of the interior is something that McMenamins wishes it could pull off. The service was very friendly and the lady helping us was awesome. They have Guinness on draft which is awesome- but all the other beers are IPA heavy. I understand it is the Pacific Northwest, but IPA's are gut bombs. Oh well, at least I found another place that services Guinness on draft (which is the only way it is palatable.) I am still fascinated with the interior though- it reminds me of how bars used to be back in the 90's/2000's. No nonsense, carpeted, TV's, cold beer, comfort food. There are books from that era too that are on display on the shelves- but oddly enough, it isn't dusty or have a sheen of grease like some places have. I didn't have the food this time, but seeing the other reviews, it looks quite good and I may have to come back and try it. I am happy to have found this legitimate hole-in-the-wall, non pretentious place and I look forward to returning. read more

Asked for 4 simple things. Romain lettuce in my salad. No tomatoes on my burger. Salad to be served before the burger And a drink. Remaking an order because of incompetent employees sucks out your profit. Losing customers because of poor service is more expensive. Waitress didn't write anything down. Burger was cold. Salad was not Romain lettuce. 2 big tomato slices on the cold burger. Salad show up at same time as burger. Had to remind her what drink I had ordered not 20 seconds earlier. Some people just weren't meant to have a job. Grouchy bar tender. The glasses, cowboy shirt and tight spandex I come in ask for a coors light. The bar tender doesn't even say hi or thanks for coming in. Me: "A coors light pls" The bar tender Looks away then pours me a glass 3/4 full the other 1/4 full of foam. Walks away. Me: that's a nice head. Walks away with an attitude "If you want more I'll give you another glass" Thinking I'm my head, Should I really have to ask? I wait until the foam resolves. Hand the glass back to her. She tires again; still not full. I would think this person would say "im sorry or let me work on this". Just cold and rude and puts in front of me without looking at me then walks away. Likes she's bored and not interested. Two other patrons were also astonished at her behavior. cold and rude. She obviously doesn't want to be working there. She certainly doesn't dress for it.
