Dr. Stratton makes sure to take as much time as is necessary with every patient, explains things very thoroughly, and is just all around a wonderful person. Dr. Hall is also super nice, patient, knowledgeable, and helpful. The front desk workers and the vet techs (I'm blanking on names right now, though I think one is named Chelsea and one is named Emily) are all wonderful. I've legitimately considered going in either by myself or with one of my cats just to say hi and chat and share kitty lovins. Their prices are also incredibly reasonable. Even for bigger things, like a cat dental cleaning with extractions and X-rays, is less than $2,000, while the same thing at other places I looked was $4,000-5,000. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

I'm disappointed with my experience at Eagle's Animal Hospital during my recent visit for my cat's…read moreasthma concerns. My cat was previously feral, and this was only the second time in her life being placed in a carrier. As you can imagine, this was a very stressful and emotional experience for both of us. I was hoping for a calm and supportive environment. Unfortunately, the receptionist on the feline side (dark hair and glasses) made a comment about my cat being overdue for vaccines in a tone that felt judgmental rather than helpful. It added unnecessary stress in an already difficult moment. Additionally, when it was time to check out, there was no one available on the feline side, and I had to go to the canine area. This exposed my already anxious cat to barking dogs, making the situation even more overwhelming. I understand clinics get busy, but compassion and communication matter--especially when dealing with frightened animals and concerned pet owners. I hope this feedback helps improve the experience for others in the future. Also would like to add extremely expensive veterinarian office .

However, knowing the time wasn't quite right for that, with their guidance and excellent vet care, Jelly had more and better quality of life with me. Dr Dahlgren provided excellent care and was available when the going got tough, whether by text or visit and you know things always seem to happen after hours - and having Dr Dahlgren available to advise versus not knowing if a cold show up at some ER was warranted. Along with our primary vet at Betty Baugh's I am confident both Jelly and Boone got amazing care. Emma was visiting monthly and was always able to find the meds Boone needed at the mg best so I didn't have to cut pills etc and when you get a few meds going, it is very very helpful. Gail gave wonderful care with massages and Brandi was gentle and kind on the phone. Dr Dahlgren spent a complete Sunday reassuring me of how to get thru the day, from upping some anti nausea meds to a diet change. I sent pics of things I am sure she has seen before but who wants that diarrhea pic. I just love her and them. I am forever grateful.

FIRE DR KENSKE!!! It…read morewas an extremely difficult decision for us to have our dog euthanized. Once we arrived,we were escorted to a very private room and treated professionally by staff. Our precious girl was prepped and ready for the doctor. Dr Kenske walked in and started nervously chattering about her personal information: it was her first day, how many dogs she has, never been married, etc. As one can imagine the stress and emotions that my husband and I were experiencing were overwhelming. The doctor was crying, on the edge of sobbing, while administering the medications and expressing her emotions . My husband yelled for her to stop talking. Yet she continued. I was sitting on the floor with our girl, the doctor was next to me narrating everything she was doing. It was extremely upsetting, especially since there was no confusion that she was already told to stop talking. I finally had enough and screamed for her to stop the chatter before I end up laying on the floor related to my emotional and physical state! Dr Kenske finished administering the meds, threw the syringe on the floor and left the room. The only saving grace was the professional care and compassion that Brittany, vet tech/ Veterinary student, demonstrated. We were then able to sit tearfully alone with our girl. Brittany took the time to sit and address all of our questions and concerns.

After taking my senior cat to our…read moreregular vet, I was told he would need extensive dental extractions that could cost anywhere from $3,000-$4,000. While researching options, I somehow found myself on Helping Hands' website, and I'm so glad I did. Their pricing was straightforward and transparent, with the flat fee including blood work and everything else needed for the procedure. When I arrived, the intake process took about 30 minutes, and the staff carefully walked me through exactly what they were going to do. They told me I could pick my cat up around 5 PM, which gave me the rest of the day to explore Richmond. While waiting, I grabbed breakfast at The Fancy Biscuit, walked around Virginia Commonwealth University, did the canal walk, learned about the history of the bridge the Confederates destroyed while retreating from Union forces, and even stopped by a brewery with an amazing outdoor area. Richmond ended up being a really great day trip. When I picked my cat up, they told me he did great. He did end up needing many teeth removed, but I could immediately tell he had been well cared for. We're now two days post-op and he's already eating again. They also sent us home with all the medication he needed. This place is absolutely amazing. Affordable, compassionate, organized, and clearly staffed by people who genuinely care about animals.

This place has become incredibly disappointing. I originally found them because they were…read morerecommended as an affordable option. At one point, the basic dental service was around $260. When I called about a month ago, the price had already increased, and now it's over $500 just for the basics. While reading recent reviews, I noticed another customer shared that their dog still had rotten teeth after receiving treatment here and ended up having to go to a different veterinarian for another dental procedure, spending over $2,000 total. That's extremely concerning, especially for those of us with senior dogs. The last thing I want is to put my dogs under anesthesia more than once because a procedure wasn't done properly the first time. My experience with the front desk staff was also frustrating. I simply asked what records and requirements they needed from my veterinarian, such as wellness exams, bloodwork, or other testing. Instead of clearly answering my questions, I felt dismissed and spoken to rudely. The conversation quickly turned into being told that if I used another veterinarian, they would need to perform their own exam anyway. It felt more like they were pushing me toward either their $500 package or their $1,700 package with X-rays rather than helping me understand the requirements. I spent a long time saving up to get dental work done for my two senior dogs, and this experience has made the process much more complicated than it needed to be. At this point, I'm considering staying in New York and finding a local veterinarian instead. It's unfortunate to see a business build its reputation on being affordable and accessible, only to move away from the very reasons so many people chose them in the first place. Even more concerning are reports suggesting that some pets may require additional procedures elsewhere, forcing owners to spend more money and put their beloved pets through anesthesia again. That's something no pet owner wants to experience.
