FIRE DR KENSKE!!! It…read morewas an extremely difficult decision for us to have our dog euthanized. Once we arrived,we were escorted to a very private room and treated professionally by staff. Our precious girl was prepped and ready for the doctor. Dr Kenske walked in and started nervously chattering about her personal information: it was her first day, how many dogs she has, never been married, etc. As one can imagine the stress and emotions that my husband and I were experiencing were overwhelming. The doctor was crying, on the edge of sobbing, while administering the medications and expressing her emotions . My husband yelled for her to stop talking. Yet she continued. I was sitting on the floor with our girl, the doctor was next to me narrating everything she was doing. It was extremely upsetting, especially since there was no confusion that she was already told to stop talking. I finally had enough and screamed for her to stop the chatter before I end up laying on the floor related to my emotional and physical state! Dr Kenske finished administering the meds, threw the syringe on the floor and left the room. The only saving grace was the professional care and compassion that Brittany, vet tech/ Veterinary student, demonstrated. We were then able to sit tearfully alone with our girl. Brittany took the time to sit and address all of our questions and concerns.

Received an email the week before the October appointment asking for veterinary records to be sent. Loaded my two dogs in the car on October 3 drove nearly an hour to the location only to find a sign on the door saying they were going to be closed on Fridays starting October 3. No one notified us or called to reschedule our appointments. No response to email or voicemails. Would not recommend. Now have to find a new vet.

I discovered that my dog developed mastitis one morning, and required antibiotics for treatment to prevent a more serious outcome. Fortunately, Tappahannock Vet Clinic was allowing new clients, and provided me with the necessary one time treatment that my dog needed. I was very impressed by the efficiency of the visit. We checked in and provided records, and in fewer than 5 minutes, we were shown to an exam room. We hadn't been in there for but a few minutes when Dr. Scotti Stiff came in with a vet tech, we had a pleasant introduction and kitty cuddles, a few shots, and all was well. I have had pets throughout my adult life and this was probably the most efficient and pleasant experience at a vet. The atmosphere has a country vet feel (think Dr Pol, but not chaotic at all). I have an appointment for the other kitty in a few weeks and look forward to having another positive experience.

I…read morecalled this vet who refused to sell me the U-40msize syringes, telling me they were not taking new patients. The syringes do not require a prescription. I begged them to help me as we were several hours from home. they referred me to Walmart who don't sell insulin syringes for vetsulin. I would not trust these people. I did find a kind vet a few miles further down the road who were very helpful. they sold me two packages of the syringes.
