We ordered a root beer float and an affogato but ahead of us were milkshakes and other more complicated orders, so we waited at least 10 minutes to order, and then about 30 minutes to get our order. $14 plus tip. We might try it again on a less busy day but were disappointed this time. read more

Husband and I stopped here before driving to Idaho. This little coffee shop is cute. The people who work here are friendly. They have various drink options! Not only coffee but smoothies, milkshakes, ice cream, lemonade, tea, boba, and ice cream. My husband got a coffee mixed with 2 flavors, white chocolate and caramel with a shot of espresso. They have a small breakfast menu that consist of stuffed croissants, an açaí smoothie bowl, peanut butter banana honey toast, and avocado toast. Husband and I were hungry but just wanted something to go. He got 2 egg, bacon and cheese stuffed croissants. Flaky on the outside and very cheesy on the inside. He enjoyed it. Second time driving through Ely this year, second time stopping here! It's seriously the cutest little coffee shop - but they offer WAY more than your standard espresso & coffee fare. They've got tea, smoothies, ice cream, milkshakes, and boba tea drinks, not to mention a wide variety of snacks, health supplements, gift items, and CBD products. This place was an awesome find while driving through the middle of nowhere Nevada! We both had the hazelnut caramel drinks (my partner had a hot one and I had a blended one) and they were DELISH! Place had a cool vibe and the staff was friendly. Drinks were out quickly and we were happily on our way. Totally worth the detour from the main road! If you find a Buffalo Bills hat, we sadly won't be back for it. read more

This place felt like locals only, if you're driving through and they don't know you, don't expect good service. I walked in and someone dining cut in front of me to the line, no big deal. I'm standing there and then two kids with complicated orders go next. No worries, I'm patient. The women behind the coffee bar finally acknowledge me, they look up and say it's busy, they have a rush. No problem. I say, "It's no big deal, I have an easy order," I literally want a cup of black coffee and two waters. I wait patiently. A new customer walks in, a good five minutes after me, she walks right up and they obviously know her, so they're all, "Hey honey, what can I get you?" At this point I'm done, I left. I get it, I'm not a local, you don't want my business. I went down the road to Hunter's and had a much better experience. Awesome little coffee shop in downtown Ely. We stayed 4 nights here, visiting Great Basin as well as other places in the area. This coffee shop serves a variety of drinks, including Boba tea! They have your traditional espresso drinks as well as teas and smoothies. My cappuccino was well done as well as my wife's chai tea latte. The kiddos absolutely loved the Hawaiian smoothie. We definitely will be back in the next few days and the next time we visit Ely. Totally recommend read more

Wow, a really nice coffee shop in old downtown Ely. My husband's cup of coffee had excellent flavor. My latte was very well made and tasted delicious. It's hard to find a properly made latte in small rural towns but Taproot nailed it. They have a good selection of all kinds of coffee drinks, hot or cold. We also ordered a smoothie, I ordered the super greens and it was well made, refreshing and not too sweet. The owners are friendly and welcoming and the shop is cozy, cute and comfortable if you want to stay awhile and enjoy the nice atmosphere. Went twice while passing through town. Lots of flavors for coffee, tea, smoothies, Boba, milkshakes. A ton of sugar free options including some of the best chai I have ever had and sugar free whip. Tried a few different smoothie flavors which were all good. A couple yummy pastries too which changed each time. A bunch of keto and CBD options which was nice. Knick knacks and things to take home with you too. I would say this is a must stop when passing through or staying in town. If I was a local I would come here at least once a week. read more

I ordered the same drink i do every day from any coffee place. It looked dark, I thought it just had not been stirred or I got an iced americano vs latte. I gave it a swirl and it came out the lid and I went back in for a napkin. I asked them if they could stir it real quick for me and the owner said "I already stirred it, but I will again." I said thank you and said did I get a latte as it's so dark? "Yes, Oat milk is thin and you don't see it as much as regular milk." I said I drink them every day, this one is too dark, what brand of oat milk do you use? Her reply was "obviously not the same brand as you." I was surprised because when I'm in town, that store is where I'd been shopping when on that side of town. I said "well I think I'm going to pass, have a good day." She said "fine by me" and made pronounced dumping of the coffee in the sink. I was a bit shocked as she did not read that a regular was saying his drink was not right. That she needed to make me feel awkward for asking her to stir it, and just the whole experience left me thinking it was fine by her if I was not satisfied with what she was giving me. Business must be good. I like the shop itself, and have had several good visits. This one it failed and it was the owner so I'm leaving a review. Update: I left 3 stars out of five. Not bad considering i gave up my money, and i tip 20-40% anytime I come. Just a 3 star to get their attention that they are in customer service. The owners reply that she's sorry and she usually tries to be patient with all her customers, "even when it's difficult." Well, now it's a one star and I'll not come back and I'm sure that will please you since I'm difficult. Take care. read more
