Beans and Brews is new-ish to Ely. I have traveled to town on and off for the last 20 years, so finding a drive thru coffee place was a nice treat when I started making regular trips earlier this year. This place opens early, which is great. I usually stumble out of the hotel in my pajamas and get over to this place for my morning coffee before tackling the day. They have a lot of drink and breakfast options. Employees are friendly enough. They have an app. If you come here more than once, make sure you download it and get a free drink and earn points towards future purchases. They also have specials that you can take advantage of. Sounds great. So why 3 stars? Well, my order has pretty much always been problematic. I am not really fussy and normally won't return once I`m back at my hotel and find something wrong with my order, but it is sort of a bummer. Twice I have had lattes with no vanilla syrup as ordered and I tried an avocado toast once and the bread was barely toasted, still cold, and overall the meal looked sad. I have sort of gotten used to subpar service and food in Ely, but I really wish that this place would try a bit more. When I`m the only one in the drive thru and it is early, it isn`t too much trouble to make sure my drink is right. I shall return, but only because I need my early coffee and this place is convenient. read more

This coffee spot opens very early, which was why we dropped by before heading off to the Great Basin National Park. We got the Iced Matcha Tea Latte and Cane & Cream Cold Brew and two croissants to go. Service was fast. I much prefer the Iced Matcha Tea Latte. Went there this morning, all of the girls working had a negative disposition. They weren't very welcoming and all kind of looked like they were having a bad day while making coffees. My coffee wasn't good, asked for extra ice and didn't get it and my drink was far too sweet. Basically bought the coffee and threw it out because I had to hit the road and didn't want to deal with the attitudes or the unwelcoming atmosphere. read more

Visited Beans & Brews a year or so ago and wasn't impressed, but gave it a try this time and they've really upped their game. The employees were friendly this time and got my order to me promptly. Was looking forward to a good cup of coffee. Unfortunately my order was wrong. Rather than two cups of coffee, one regular small coffee, one regular small coffee two Splenda with three shots added. Received one small coffee with three shots and two Splendas. Accidents happen, but the response was concerning. I was left waiting for the second drink. I asked for it. Was told I only ordered one. The first time I tried Beans and brew it was at this location. I'm an addicted now. The drinks and food are both delicious. The aesthetic of this coffee shop is so cute. It's high end for Ely and being that the building is new it really stands out especially with its drive thru. The interior is always clean and the team of barista's are always friendly. If you're not a coffee drinker they have a lot of other options even red bulls. I highly recommend this coffee shop and they have an app which offers you discounts and free items. I waited over 15 minutes for a drink. Were they busy? Nope, I was the only person in the drive up. However, the 2 employees on Saturday 8/17/24 @6 pm cared more about hanging out and playing with their friends in the store. Save yourself the time and money and go else where! read more

Service was good. Friendly and somewhat quick for what we ordered. I got a cold brew and threw out all but two sips. It was sour and bitter, also got a sandwich. It wasn't bad but the avocado is some kind of guacamole which changes the whole sandwich, but it wasn't bad. It is way over priced for what you get. We stayed at the hotel in the same parking lot. After the cold brew I just had hotel coffee...it was that bad. If you like sweet drinks or blended you might like this place though. They had a number of syrups so this could be for you. Nothing like a yummy cup of coffee after traveling the freaking longest , lonesome highway from Reno to Ely , OMG hwy 50 ! But B&B did not disappoint. Can't remember the name of the drink ( highway brain fog ‍ ‍) but it was a blended & amazing . The staff were super sweet and the place was very clean . The food was great HOWEVER the man with long dark hair in a pony was beyond rude with AWFUL customer service skills! We waited over 25 mins for our food (we were the only people in the restaurant) and when I would ask him what was taking so long, he was beyond rude and argued with me that there was only 3 of them working and they were doing the best they could. Then I pressed him and said if it wouldn't be done soon (we had to be somewhere) we'd just get our money back and it turns out our food had been done sitting at the drive thru window getting cold for God knows how long. He was rude & short & aloof from the second we walked in the store. He should not be in a customer service role EVER! He was put out by every question I asked him since we had never been to a Beans and Brews bc they don't have them where we live. read more

Walked in. Employees just stared at us. No good morning no hello. Took 10min till we thought we might walk out and go somewhere else. I will say Joe (black hair) must have just come on shift and he was amazing and friendly and welcoming. He should be the rest of the example. Make he a manager if he is not. Arrived in Ely for regionals and needed a quick bag to eat with some coffee. The service was great the location clean. We ordered the bacon egg croissant, which they also have Sriracha if interested. I was annoyed the drive through was closed so I had to go inside! The open signs were not lit so I wasn't even sure it was open. We were about to leave and saw someone walk in and that's how we knew it was open. Service was SLOW. The girl was by herself, but no acknowledgement to anyone walking in to welcome them or say be with you shortly (as she was making coffee). Just little things. The coffee was okay. The girl didn't seem too knowledgeable about the menu when I asked her questions about sweetness with coffees, etc. The place is very clean and organized. Also, pretty good prices. I didn't order food, but I did notice Sriracha in packets in the condiment section & I loved that! Debated on giving 3 stars, but I don't think the girl was rude or anything, I think she's just lacking experience. I'm not a coffee drinker but my husband has to spend time in a coffee shop at least once a day. We were on vacation so I was along for the ride. Our first time in, I ordered the frozen strawberry lemonade and it was delicious. I also enjoyed a hot cocoa on our second visit. It had a richness unlike the Swiss Miss variety cocoa I get at most coffee shops. The staff was friendly, quick, and efficient. The place has big windows to it is well-lit and cherry. Oh, and my husband enjoyed the fancy coffee things he ordered, too. Great job! read more
