Was concerned by how BIG the taqueria is (bigger isn't always better), but the food was fantastic. Al Pastor was great and the salsa options were good for spice lovers. I paid for an agua fresca and forgot to wait for it. When I went back, I got a small even though I paid for a large (I didn't notice until I saw someone with a giant cup). As I was walking out, I walked over to simply ask if they could fill my half-empty small cup to the top BUT instead they gave me a brand new large cup. FOOD Tacos: We tried the al pastor, steak, and beer-battered fish tacos--all were solid. Not too salty or tough, and the fried fish tacos were nicely crispy. Torta: Very filling with a soft, buttery bun. I was a bit disappointed that avocado isn't included by default, since I'm used to tortas coming with it. Burrito: Extremely filling. Maybe just a little too much rice, but still delicious with a perfectly grilled tortilla. Drinks: Tons of fresh and delicious drink options. SERVICE This may explain the lower overall rating. Ordering can be a bit confusing at first, and the initial server wasn't very friendly or responsive. I would take a picture but what I do to my burrito bowls are embarrassingly saucy, so I will keep my guilty pleasure away from your eyes. I quite like lengua and quite glad for places like this where I can get nice soft lengua burritos/bowls. Definitely on the heavy end though, so I would not go here if you were watching your health. However, for guilty pleasures once in a while, why not? Plus it's conveniently next to a charge station so I can enjoy awesome food with a salsa bar while waiting. There's also outside seating so my dog can tag along and stare at me longingly for a piece. The drinks are also awesome and refreshing with a nice variety from your standard hibiscus and horchata to things like horchata with coffee. The cups comes with a nice spout which makes is easier to drink without a straw, although it's a little bit flimsy. However, you definitely get a huge cup for large! My first experience with Socal/IE Mexican food did not disappoint. This spot is so delicious!! I ordered two asada tacos and helped myself to the self-serve bar, which consisted of cilantro, onion, lemon, and various types of salsa. My friends ordered 2 chicken and 2 al pastor tacos, so our order of 2 x 3 tacos came with a side of rice and beans. There isn't much servicing involved, you place your order at the counter and they make it for you. The interior is quite sizable and seating is plentiful indoors and outdoors. I've only had one older lady greet us nicely with a smile & nice words whereas in my job, you treat every single customer that walks thru the door - with a smile and a welcome... it's truly not that hard ! One time I actually had to tell one of the young ladies how rude she was being by being right by my face, as I'm trying to get onion/ cilantro - she's behind me closing the blinds - I wouldn't mind but she never said excuse me, and was literally her mouth to my ear. She apologized after I told her how rude she was being. Today, we had a new gentlemen take our order which is fine. The problem began when I had to repeat the order about 5 times, whilst he's looking at me like I'm speaking a different language when we both speak Spanish. He eventually got it & wrote it down, I saw him write it correctly but then proceeded to give us the order completely wrong - from wrong meats, to wrong tortilla choice and at this point - we had been standing there for about over 10 minutes, the amount of people who passed by us because they received their food correctly and were able to pay right away was honestly upsetting. I wouldn't mind, but I genuinely believe these cooks are most likely drinking in the back. It explains why they have terrible attitudes all the time, and now they can't even get orders right when speaking the same language as them - can only imagine the mistakes that may happen with people who cannot speak Spanish ! I explained all of this to the cashier, I work in a kitchen as well & provide the best service, every single day. This place was doing alright just a few weeks back, then we realized it's because they had their higher up's showing up to the location ( we were there when they arrived ) they even brought a " star " cashier that doesn't even work at that location , they probably know the ones they have on the daily - don't cut it ! I'm genuinely wanting to contact higher up's showing because this place is becoming a joke. The food is good, the service is very very unsettling. My husband bragged about their burritos that he would order for lunch so he had to bring me to taste test. Not disappointed at all!! We got the half n half burrito w/ al pastor & chicken. Their tortillas, all home made. Meat is so flavorful. We ordered ahead online & went during lunch hour, they were very busy but still managing to get people in n out. The place was clean and nicer than the usual taqueria restaurants. They have plenty of agua frescas, I got the cucumber and lime, so delicious! We're 20 mins from this place and it was very worth it. Usually dos potrillos is my go to spot for tacos. I placed an online order which said it would take about 20 minutes to be ready. I waited for 45 minutes and finally was brought my order except the entire order was wrong. I told them it was wrong and brought back my order with one item missing AGAIN. So I waited for almost an hour for the food. I wasn't offered a refund or anything else to make up for that. I couldn't get a refund because I ordered online. Sucks. The food unfortunately didn't have much flavor for our taste. The mulita was more of a quesadilla than anything. They don't offer glass bottled cokes but they do carry aguas frescas. We waited for quite some time in line. We got the family meal of 15 tacos I believe (I didn't order) that came with bean and rice. Then two large quesadilla and a soup, plus 4 drinks. Everything was very good and the drinks, too. We tried the pineapple guava, pineapple orange, and coffee horchata. I liked the pineapple orange more. Was driving through the area and this was recommended for a good taco spot. Al pastor is my favorite and Taqueria 2 Potrillos' al pastor is perfect! My food of 2 tacos, 1 sope and 1 empanada was ready pretty quickly. I felt lucky because after reading the reviews, there's usually a long line but when I arrived, I was the only person in line. When I left, they had gained a crowd. The restaurant itself is big with lots of seating and is clean. I love the tiny detail on their seat benches. Customer service was good - they took my order and got it right. The person to check you out and pay is at the end of the counter and they offer a generous amount of salsas, lemon, onions and cilantro. My only suggestion is that they offer fountain drinks but the watermelon fresca was amazing!!!! read more
