Very good Mexican food. The ambiance is authentic. I love the quesadilla from here. I barely speak Spanish but it's easy to order!

This place is fantastic. I brought my family here visiting from out of state and we all agreed that the tacos are incredible!

Ordered two chicarron, barbocoa, Pastor, tripita at Taqueria Amiga. My favorite has to be the chicarron, barbocoa, and especially the tripe! I love the hidden gems restaurant; it's like an exploration and not knowing what you will expect when get there. I'll be back!

Great little taco spot in Gonzales. My new favorite place to go for good Mexican food. Three tacos and a drink for less then $10. I loved in Phoenix for 4 years. This place could hold its own there.

Different people from our group have gone back four days in a row, some even returning with their families. I ordered the Shrimp Happy Plate, which is around $20. The shrimp were seasoned extremely well, juicy, and not dried out at all. The rice was cooked perfectly with no hard pieces, and they were definitely NOT shy with the queso. There was plenty throughout the plate, which brought everything together. One tip: If you want onions and bell peppers, make sure you ask to have them added. I absolutely recommend it. Ours were cooked down perfectly with no crunch and paired really well with the shrimp, rice, and queso. We also tried the Trio Happy Plate. The chicken and steak were both tender, and all of the proteins were well seasoned. The portions are generous too. You may look at the plate and think you can split it, but don't make that plan. Once you start eating, you will probably want the whole thing. This has also been a great option for a workday lunch. On our latest visit, we ordered pretty much as soon as we sat down and had warm food in front of us in about 15 minutes. You also get complimentary chips, salsa, and beans while you wait, and the drinks have always tasted fresh. The service deserves recognition as well. The manager is lovely and makes a point to stop by and check on our experience every time we visit. It's a small touch, but after multiple visits, that consistency stands out. The restaurant itself makes a great first impression. The decor is beautiful, it smells amazing when you walk through the door, and everything has been clean during our visits, including the bathrooms. They even have mints available on your way out. And PLEASE get the churros. They were fresh, warm, topped with ice cream, and next level. One visit ours came with strawberry syrup and another time with caramel. Both were delicious. Between the flavor, portions, quick lunch service, cleanliness, and consistently good experiences, this one has officially earned a spot in our lunch rotation.

So we had the happy hour fajitas for $12. It was perfect and just enough to eat andddd it came with the setup (rice, guac, sour cream and pico) refried beans or charro. My choice was charro- good!! Quick bite and good buzz here!
