Maybe I missed the cheese over the dried chicken. Nope, no cheese.

I had SUCH high hopes for this place. Homemade!! Yes please. It hurts me to say anything bad, so I won't. I'll just describe "my" food. Tortillas-too thick, dry, crumbly, hurt my throat to swallow. Two fajita tacos. One chicken, one beef. No cheese on either one. So dry, they choked me. The beef tasted like rehydrated beef jerky. I have no reason to go back. Too expensive for product. Sad

Went here yesterday for lunch. Been here a few times. The service is always prompt and friendly -- they refilled my drink many times and checked on me frequently. The food might be a little pricey but it tastes homemade to me. The cantina beans are my favorite side and I love most of their tacos. They really fill their tacos -- you don't feel like they skimped out on anything in them. 5/5 would recommend

I very much like this place since their tacos have great variety, especially more options for vegetarians. I've been here several times and it is always good but the cost is a bit more than I would like so I don't make this a regular stop. Also chips are not complimentary when you sit down so you feel a bit like you are being charged for everything. Drinks are good but no happy hour and no taco Tuesday deals.

I don't review places in town often. This place is a must if you're in the mood for tacos. Salsa verde, guacamole w/ chips to start. Be curious. Read the descriptions. Try different ones. Tasty. Filling. Homemade. Friendly service. Oh and the drinks are on point. You're welcome.

Perfectly done fries, a brisket taco, and a nopales taco

Giant, overstuffed tacos - they'r yuge! Yuge I'm tellin' ya!! And very good. Fries may seem like an odd side order with tacos, but these fries are amazing!! Perfectly golden brown, crispy, and plentiful! Didn't try the "muchas papas" (big nacho fries), but they would surely be great (good fries, good meat - couldn't be bad). The tacos! Did I mention they were huge? The brisket has a good, slow cooked BBQ flavor (not sauce - slow cooked over wood or coals kind of BBQ). The chicken fajita taco is full of chicken, onions, and peppers. The fish taco is filled with dark, crispy, flaky white fish and covered with slaw and jalapeño lime sauce (the slaw as a side dish ain't too great, but with the jalapeño lime on the fish - real good). And the nopales taco is also very good - fresh and flavorful! The salsa is thick, creamy, and perfectly spiced. The green salsa was bland today, but my daughter says it is usually quite spicy (hot). I suppose that could be a sign that it's fresh made? (Fresh peppers easily vary in heat levels.) Definitely worth coming back often (in fact, my daughter is here so often that they've stopped asking what she wants - they already know) Oh. And don't forget the off-menu tamales. Come early in the month. Like the first 4 or 5 days early. They make tamales once a month, and usually sell out within the first few days. Come early- it's worth it.

Food and service was absolute wonderful! I felt at home there. Very nice people. My sister and I had a great time. You will not be disappointed. Alot of food given. Could not even finish it all. Margarita was very good. Stop by and give them a try. You will be glad you did.

Hub and I came in on a Wednesday night around 6:30 ish. The place has about 8 tables and a bar with dining outside as well. Out of all of the tables only 3 were filled. Service had great attitude , but ultimately kind of slow and didn't really care for the smaller tables. The other two tables had parties of maybe 6 or 7 people which they catered to way more. I mean with only 3 tables for the night you'd think the service would be impeccable. Honestly, we felt ignored. However, food did come out in a timely manner. I heard really good things about their 'carne asada style fries' initially is why I came! Camote Papas $11.25 sweet potato fries loaded with mexican stewed black beans, pico and house made chipotle sauce. **Mini Papas $7.50 Flavor was good. Chipotle sauce was yummy and fries came out hot. They sweet potato fries were skinnyyy though and also soggy with all of the toppings. I honestly love the soggy fries, but my hub likes crispy fries.. so to each their own! We got the mini portion pictured in the to-go boxes. Muchos Papas $14.5 rustic fries covered in queso, shredded cheese and any of the taco meat choices. **Mini Papas $9.50 Their queso is actually really tasty! The fries were piping hot and THIICCK with two c's. I ordered the mini with half chicken - half steak. Their steak is like a brisket steak. Portions are quite small for the price. Slider Tacos $7.50 a sample of Traditional Brisket, Cochinita and Tinga. Tinga chicken was delicious. Cochinita brisket was tender, juicy, & flavorful. Traditional brisket was just okay. When they say sampler app tacos they mean it in SIZE. The tiniest & cutest sampler tacos.. I wish they are bigger! QUESADILLA $12.75 Served on their largest flour tortilla with a side of guacamole and/or sour cream and a generous portion of any meat (chorizo, pulled pork, brisket, steak, chicken, chicken tinga, buffalo chicken, fish or Gulf shrimp) Cheese Quesadilla - $6.75 I'm actually glad we tried the trio sample tacos because it let us taste most of the meat choices we were curious about! The Cochinita steak was so tender, so so juicy, and so delicious! Came with a side of sour cream & guacamole. DESSERTS Just Churros $2.75 Hot, crunchy on the outside, chewy and soft on the inside. A proper churro! Next time I'll come back got their drinks. Hopefully I'll get better service at the bar. The prices were way cheaper for drinks than food too.

My teenage son heard about JoVi's from his gaming community and said we had to go. We did, and boy, are we glad! My husband and I each got two tacos and a side, my older son got the Muchos Papas, and my younger son got a chicken quesadilla. So. Much. Food. We all had leftovers! I ordered the Surf & Turf and Tinga tacos. The Surf & Turf was good, but the Tinga was the star of the show in my opinion. It's stewed chicken with chipotle peppers and tomatillos and other good stuff. It was zesty and so, so tasty. That's my first choice from now on. And their house made tortillas were wonderful. This wasn't a cheap taco meal. If you're looking to pay Taco Bell prices, not gonna happen. It was in our splurge budget category. But we got an abundance of delicious food for the price, so I didn't mind. And next time I can get the mini tacos, spend a bit less, and still have plenty to eat! We're going back for sure.

    Muchos nachos with jalapenos added

I had not been to this location since it was taken over by new management. Recommended by a friend, craving nachos so I stop by. It's a small limited menu and they make their own tortillas. Prices were higher than competition in the area, but thought I would see if their quality was worth the extra money. Unfortunately I was disappointed in the nachos, this was partially my fault because I failed to read the menu description stating that the pulled pork was in a barbecue sauce. Not really a big fan of barbecue sauce in general, but the waitress did say afterwards that I could have asked for the pulled pork without the barbecue sauce. There was a fair amount of pulled pork on top of the nachos, but the queso sauce was rather sparse, and again I'm not a fan of barbecue sauce which was also drizzled on top. But I will say the pulled pork was tasty. The two stars are due to the very limited amount of queso on the chips, also no shredded cheese, in general not very cheesy nachos. Sparse on the pico de gallo and no sour cream either. Additionally, I had asked the waitress when I ordered if the nachos came with pickled jalapenos, and was advised that they could put them on top but it would cost me extra. When I got the bill I was only charged $0.75 for the jalapenos, but I noticed on their menu they also charged if you ask for additional tortillas. Even if made in-house, tortillas and pickled jalapenos are among the cheapest ingredients used in any Mexican restaurant and charging extra Just irks me. To me nachos should always come with pickled jalapenos or at the very least when ordered the waitress should ask whether the customer wanted them with or without - and - not charge extra if requested. Just my two cents. Otherwise it's a cute little place & very clean. I do plan on stopping by again to try their fish tacos and give updated review in the near future.

While the steak was cooked properly, medium well as I requested, it was very tough. Maybe it was an angry cow. Regardless, the staff was very attentive. And the service was very fast. Ambience was nice and it felt very comfortable although it was a bit cold so I had to go and get a jacket for my mom and my sister-in-law. I would give them another try the next time I'm in the area. It has a coating and is deep fried. The pulled pork quesadillas are so yummy- this is what my hubby got tonight. I like the way the seating is here. There are booths and tables and all are comfortable. Though you may be sitting near another table, the acoustics are such that others talking are not bothersome. The menu prices are slightly higher on some items, however, scallops with shrimp here are very delicious and perfectly browned in a buttery flavored manner and this menu item sells for 30 dollars and it's the most costly entree on the menu. Their tapas menu is more budget friendly and delicious. I urge you to try this delicious menu for yourself. We love their catering department too!
