I like to say that the restaurant is very nice and clean. It is decorated with authentic. Mexican artisans sculptures and has a collection of cute tiny Mexican pottery. The food is pretty generous. The taco size is large but the tortillas are not fresh they are tuff to bite the salsas are not authentic nor flavorful. The agua de or hats was not good at all. I asked the server if the had any caldos and I guess she did not know the menu or it was her first day working because she read me the whole menu and no caldos. The service is horrible in fact our server messed up our order and thank God she did because we would have had more horrible burned tortillas and hard to eat stale tacos. Our server took our order took the food to our table and never saw her again so I had to get up to ask to rap my food to go and to please give us the bill. You my ask why I emphasize the SERVICE when I go out to eat. The reason is because I never get to sit down to eat at work nor at home. When I go out to eat I like my food fresh hot and delicious. That's why I don't like ordering food to go I like to dine in sit eat and relax but I got non of these at this restaurant I had to bring my plate to the front and had to tell my server rap it to go and when am I going to be charged or get the check not coming back bad service read more

Like for real closed? How it made it this far, I have no clue. My bf and I used to go there, but I think he had crush on some hoodrat that worked there (we broke up). Back to the review. The portions were so huge, that it would've worked better in a college town. You could make 3 tacos, with 1 of his tacos. The owner was the cook, dishwasher, butcher, and probably sugar daddy to the hoodrats (those girls were nasty). The place was always "hole in the wall" looking. This place is great. It's a very mixed crowd and they seem to get quite a few lawyers from the DuPage County Courthouse and nurses from Central DuPage Hospital. They have quick service, good lunch specials and BIG portions. Taco & Burrito specials are only $6.00, come with rice and beans and have huge portions. I come here for lunch at least 1-2 times per week. They serve chips and salsa with every customer, ask for the guacamole (it's a very small upcharge.) read more

Two tongues up! I test Mexican places' authenticity by their tongue taco. Not for everyone, but a taco de lengua with onions and cilantro is a little slice of heaven for me. I work in Warrenville, and have had trouble finding a good tongue taco until I found this place. I will definitely return This place was not easy to find. I went on the recommendation of a co-worker, who couldn't remember the name. Part of the problem is that the name on the outside (Was it La Villita??) is different from the name on the inside (Taqueria Aurelio's). Multiple Personalities? Been going here for years now. The review below is correct...regarding the name. It does say La Villita outside. I have the Chorizo Burrito every time I go. They offer medium and large. The medium is so doggone big that I have yet to order the large. As well, and one of the BIG reasons I go back, is they make their own horchata on site. If you like horchata...fuhgetaboutit...it's awesome there. Aurelio is the guy in the back that you can see doin' the cookin'. Super nice guy too. Love this place. read more

Being born and raised in Chicago keeps a gal spoiled with food options. Since moving to the Western Suburbs, it's difficult finding a delicious Mexican spot that reminds you of home. Taqueria Aurelio's truly is amazing and I highly recommend it for anyone craving a delicious burrito, torta, or enchiladas. Don Aurelio is always there behind the counter being friendly and preparing your food. The sauces are amazing: I personally like both, but prefer the green sauce (salsa verde). To me, the Salsa is an indication of what the food is going to be like. If it doesn't taste right, then run! Taqueria Aurelio's/La Villita is a hole-in-the-wall type of joint, but it's definitely a diamond in the rough. Buen provecho! read more

When it comes to having a great burrito, this place takes the cake. The red sauce is just perfect, while the green sauce seems to have a variance in spiciness. It could be milder or spicier than the red sauce. The enchiladas taste great, but you may want to order extra sauce on it. I've had all the different meats and I am yet to be disappointed. The only reason it doesn't get a 5 is because they seem to forget to turn on their air conditioning in the summer and their heater during the winter. It's not unbearable, just a bit uncomfortable. Finally! A steak burrito that isn't swimming in grease! Stopped there for the first time today. Staff was courteous and prompt. Burrito was EXCELLENT and the large is almost as big as your head! All for $6! I couldn't finish it for lunch, it was HUGE! Good hot sauce, too! Can't beat the prices, either! Highly recommended! read more

While I should have known better than to get a Cuban sandwich (torta) at a Mexican place, who puts halved hot dogs, chorizo and breaded beef on any iteration of what is supposed to be a ham, pork and Swiss cheese sandwich? This place does. See one of the other yelper's pics - does that look like a nice pressed panini? Ugh wish I had looked myself before ordering it. The beef was so tough I had to wrench it apart after de-breading it to feed it to my cat. Chorizo burrito ( medium) was enormous and a total grease bomb. Of course chorizo is fatty by nature but I felt like I needed a shower after, to say nothing of the heartburn. The rice and beans were good, and the green salsa they give you with chips is actually wonderful - highlight of the meal. Guacamole was flavorless but fresh and substantial - I added some garlic salt and salsa to eat it with plain corn tortillas at home. The service: the girl behind the counter asked if I wanted chips with my guac - I said I can use the chips that come free with the salsa, unless I would need more? She said yes so I paid the extra $1...I got the same total amount of chips as the adjacent table which only had the free chips and salsa. ? Also, it took *forever* to get my soda + the chips and salsa which normally are set out on a table immediately at Mexican places. Then when I was leaving and asked for a container to take the guac home, it took her another 10 minutes to bring one (and she wasn't doing anything besides packing her purse to leave, I was the only customer at that point - 3pm). It was my first time in the area so I don't know if there are better local options but as someone who usually gets Mexican in Berwyn and the city - Pilsen etc - this was pretty awful. read more

I like the tacos a lot, but inconsistent speed of service and systems. When they get busy, they take the phone off the hook so you can't place a to-go order. Frustrating!! Takes a really long time to get your food at times as well. Food and prices are great, but I'm wondering if it's worth all the hassle. read more
