I went to pick up an order and the lady at the register was rude. It has come to my knowledge that she is the sister of the owner and is hardly there. I was working in the area and decided to stop in for lunch. The restaurant was clean and the waitress was really nice, but the food could have been way better. I ordered the fajita platter for one and the food came out relatively fast but the fajitas lacked seasoning. The side of rice and charro beans were just ok. The waitress brought chips, salsa, and a small thing of queso which were all cold. Food portions/sizes were generous. Fajita beef taste was good. Rice lacked flavor. Frijoles a la charra were a bit spicy. Refried beans had chunks of onions in them. Found this place on yelp when wanting authentic tacos but in the breakfast category. This place is amazing from the staff to the food. When we sat down we had coffee brought to us automatically - plus! After skimming the menu our waitress came up and I ordered the chilaquiles with a side of avocado (which was only 30¢!) This is probably one of the tastiest Mexican restaurants in Pasadena, TX. My better half was a chef in his first life and has the nose of a bloodhound, so for me to rate this 5 stars means it is good. The building is ok, nothing fancy but the food makes up for what it lacks. The tortillas are fresh and handmade. The chicken fajitas are juicy and not dry. Now, I will emphasize on the fajitas. I recommend that when you order tacos or a fajita plate, specifically ask for fajita beef skirt. Otherwise , you will get the lower end quality fajitas. read more

This place is great for breakfast but I did not enjoy the dinner part! It was very salty for me! I did take out and had a short drive back to the motel with still warm food. However, the salsa was great with some good chips, no complaints on that!i ordered tacos which were okay, I had better at taco stands and I ordered the Jalisco burrito with great mean but really salty sauce! The cactus on the meat dish was ok but the meat was tough to chew! The beans are good and the tortillas are awesome! Customer service was Excellent, very nice people! I am Hispanic and hands down the best Mexican breakfast around. There are lots of places to eat Mexican around the area and this one is MY favorite. We've been going pretty steady since they opened at the old Busters BBQ site and has become our go to place in Pasadena. The fare is standard Mexican Cuisine, it's the price and staff that keeps us coming back. Their "5 mini taco dinner" is my fav dish, especially for breakfast since I work at night. All the dishes (Carne Quisada, enchiladas, etc) have all been good, and "Madre" of the family (the whole family works there) always comes and gives my wife a hug. Good food and super friendly staff makes this one of the best places in Pasadena for authentic Mexican food. read more

It was hard to get everyone seated, we were literally crammed into the table, and some just went to another table all together. There was plenty of room to put the entire party in a better seating location, but they did not. The place was also HOT, like there was no AC on. At. All. I couldn't wait to leave. The waitress was kind of prompt-she took some orders and forgot others, and she was very slow. I ordered the Beef Fajita Beef plate and was overall extremely satisfied with the food. It was a little pricier than I thought a lunch portion should be, but it was good food. Also, they only serve beer. That's fine, but a number of us wanted a margarita and that just a no-go. Overall while I was satisfied with the taste of the food, I wasn't satisfied with anything else. There is a LOT to be said about service, and Campo Azul lacks good service. read more

Great inexpensive food; however, the service is bad. The waitresses berly pay attention to you and do not come and check if you need something. I understand that they just moved to a new location, but they were like that at the previous place...plus it's the same waitresses from the previous place. Few days ago we met with some family members for breakfast, abs they took a long time to even ask us for our drinks. Then they took forever to take our order, which didn't make a big deal because it was a new location and they were busy. Today I went and meet up with family for lunch,which they were not as busy, and they kept passing and never a knowledge me. Finally my mother in law asked them for a coffee for me, and one lady said she couldn't give me one because she was busy..that she was going to tell someone us to give it to us, and they never came. Finally when we were about to leave she came back, and asked about my coffee. I was upset, and left witout getting anything after all.
