Looks like soap water....but should be horchata.
    Kelley N.

Meh... Horchata was watered down, asked for a replacement, they brought lemonade which was also watered down. Lunch menu is decent for prices and food isn't horrible, but it's not great either. Mediocre at best. Very slow service, even though place wasn't busy at all. Seems more of a hang out and drink and watch games place rather than focused on quality of food.

    SPINACH ENCHILADAS

Coming home from a disappointing commute into Houston, I decided to have dinner here. Los Ramirez is among one of those places I frequently pass by, but have never set foot in so it was my first time swinging by. It was a Friday night so the vibe was lively. Lots of people were at the restaurant. I plopped down by a fully occupied table and ordered the spinach enchiladas, a water, and an unsweetened tea. The meal tasted decent, but the portions were so-so. Accompanying the large helping of enchiladas were smaller helpings of refried beans and Mexican rice. It took a couple of spoonfuls to finish both. I really wished I had more of each. As with any visit to a Mexican eatery, I judged the place's chips and salsa. Not bad except the chips weren't as plentiful. It's no wonder Los Ramirez has the rating that it does, but as it with any three stars I give, I believe another chance is possible.

The food was good the service was also good. Tex mex style the menu had many options. I could eat a different meal every day for 6 months and probably still not try everything. The ambiance was typical of a Tex mex local restaurant. There seemed to be a lot of regulars that sit at the bar and all seemed to know each other. Everyone was very friendly. Will be coming back

I've been going to this restaurant since it was first opened on El Dorado. It has become our comfort food location. My son came home from Baton Rouge and the first place he wanted to go was Los Ramirez. We love our servers Gerson and Eduardo. Always on point with service and they treat us like family. But today was a bit different. Not the food or the service. That's always great without a doubt. I noticed a service charge for 3 something. I questioned it to the cashiers and they said that the consumer now has to pay for the credit card services. Now the prices went up and that's ok. But usually the price increase offsets these fees. No one carries cash anymore so that means we have to pay to pay? That doesn't make sense at all. We go there for the service and the food. We pay for service and the food. We shouldn't have to pay to use the credit card services. No one likes these types of surprises. I hope you don't lose customers over this. During the COVID years the customers kept your doors open. I will think twice or more before I go back.

    Enchiladas

This place has some great enchiladas! I would say these enchiladas are the best bang for your buck in Houston that I've tried. The plate is huge and only $10. The chicken in the enchiladas is nicely season. The plate in the picture is one cheese enchilada, one chicken, and one beef. The chips and salsa are nothing special in my option. They are good, just not amazing. I find them to be overall standard. I did prefer the green sauce over the red. Service was good. The food does take some time to arrive on the table. About 10-20 minutes. This is always a good sign, though. If food comes out too fast, I question if italian microwaved. The restaurant is similar to a small banquet hall, just a big empty room with tables and some booths. I would say if you're going here, try the enchiladas. You won't be disappointed! I can't review anything else because when I go back, I order the same thing.

Our family loves Los Ramirez. We have been coming here for a long time. The service is always good. The place is always full of life and great smelling food. The decor is colorful. We come here at least twice a month but more of family is in town. The breakfast is always good, lunch is good, dinner is good. We are always happy when we come here. We have been here so much I have tons of food pics that I will post. But our menu favorites are the menudo, the caldo de res, the pozole. Also the shrimp poblano, asado de puerco, enchiladas, bistec ranchero, the taco plate , i could go on. The margaritas are tasty , the micheladas are good too. We definitely recommend coming here by yourself or with family.

At brunch, the papas bravas come as small cubes of fried potato with an airy crunch that gives way to a soft, pillowy center - the kind of deeply satisfying bite that makes conversation briefly irrelevant. Crisp prosciutto adds salt, aioli brings richness, and smoky chile sauce keeps it lively. They're served with cactus-handled toothpicks, which are almost offensively adorable. The chilaquiles divorciados are another hit. The chips are dressed with salsa rather than drowned beneath it, so each one arrives ready for the perfect bite. It's a small distinction, but an important one. Then there are the enfrijoladas: rolled quesadillas in fluffy tortillas, covered in creamy black bean sauce and plated with more care than bean and cheese might seem to warrant. The dish is fundamentally simple, but that's the point. Soft tortilla, savory beans, melted cheese, bright salsa. Familiar ingredients transformed into something deeply comforting--the culinary equivalent of curling up beneath a warm blanket on a cold morning, even if Houston rarely provides one. Dinner shifts into another gear. The crudos are sensational, especially the tuna tiradito - a rolling wave of flavor and texture. The tacos are excellent across the board, but the crispy maitake mushrooms are unmatched. The short ribs arrive juicy and tender on a mole negro that doesn't sit politely in the background. It lands dark, complex, and full of flavor. And then there's the masa cornbread, a masterpiece of unapologetic indulgence. Humble cornbread meets savory-sweet mole, smoky, earthy butter, and caviar. It sounds like too much. It isn't. Every element earns its place. The cocktails deserve their own warning. They're the kind that convince you to keep ordering the same drink all night. By the end, you may have forgotten what was in it. What you'll remember is that it was refreshing, perfectly balanced, and exactly what you needed. Maximo makes ambitious food feel generous rather than fussy. Come hungry.

The experience started poorly with the valet attendants, whom we found to be rude, dismissive, and very unprofessional. It was such an unpleasant first impression that my wife and I mentioned it to the hostess when we went inside. Unfortunately, things did not improve. The hostess seemed completely unconcerned about our experience and simply informed us that the wait for a table was approximately two hours. While deciding whether our party should wait or go elsewhere, I went to the bar to order a drink. After ordering, the bartender told me that if I was only having a drink, I needed to move. Apparently, sitting at the bar required ordering a meal. At that point, we had experienced enough. Between the unpleasant valet experience, the indifferent response at the hostess stand, the two-hour wait, and then being told I couldn't sit at the bar simply to have a drink while we decided what to do, the overall message was clear: we did not feel welcome here. My wife, the rest of our party, and I decided to leave and have dinner elsewhere. A busy restaurant is understandable. A long wait is understandable. What is much harder to understand is making prospective customers feel unwelcome at nearly every point of contact. Needless to say, this was an exceptionally disappointing experience, and we will not be returning.
