Traveling through the valley, we have our "usual" stops, but we decided to try something new, and I'm glad we did. We headed to Newman. This taqueria is just off Highway 33, on Main Street. We eat at a lot of taquerias, and this one was one of the best. Both my companion and I found ourselves thinking about it long after the meal was over, and plotting our next reason for traveling back to Newman! Once seated, they brought us some WARM chips and salsa, which were delicious! Good chips are usually the sign of good things to come. I had a chile relleno plate, and the relleno was light and fluffy, not greasy or heavy at all. Rice and beans were above par, too. My SO had the chile verde burrito, and it was also way above average. A bit of an unusual flavor we couldn't place, but absolutely delicious! As I said, we can't wait to go back to Newman, and explore more of their menu. read more

This is the only Mexican Food I go out for...it's authentic & the best in town! It's not so fancy atmosphere will at first have you wondering...but your first bite will have you reassured! Taqueria Carolina 3 is one of those places that's a cross between a taco truck and a Mexican restaurant. There is nothing fancy about it. The food however, is very good and provides more than enough reason to frequent this place often. I had their wet burrito with green sauce and it was...EXCELLENT! All of the ingredients, from the rice, to the beans, to the meat and vegetables inside were proportioned and mixed into the burrito quite nicely. (Which is unlike some other taco trucks and even high-end restaurants where the rice will be clumped in one area of the burrito, the beans in another, the sour cream in another and so on.) The green sauce is mild with just a slight kick to it without having to resort to flushing your mouth out with something to drink. My wife had the chile relleno which she liked, however, she wasn't too impressed with due to the little amount of sauce they place on the chile. We look forward to going back regularly. read more

My favorite mexican spot in Newman... I always eat the 5.25 super burritos here always switch off between carne asada super-burrito and chicken super-burrito. I go out to eat and hope for a good meal, not food that lacks flavor, there food screams for help,more spices salt, pepper anything than bland food. I had there Carne Asada, lacked presentation and seasons, my son ordered Chile Rellenos you can tell they were pre-made. Worst was not having anything insde the Rellenos. I like this place a lot. They are fast and the meat is so yummy. Their tacos are not lacking on meat or goodies. The salsa bar is simple, red, green, pico, and limes. But the family that works/owns this place is nice. The food tastes delicious. This seems like a small mom's and pops place. Sometimes the bathrooms are not the cleanest, but I usually come on my lunch break when it is buay, so it could just be bad timing and that they clean them afterwards. This place used to be my go to place. Then I came here on 8/17/18 and I had the worst service ever. I ordered a quesadilla with carne asada. When the food came out, the quesadilla had chicken in it. I asked the gentleman who always works in the front if I could get carne asada instead because that's what I had asked for. He said "oh well I wrote down chicken". I said " well I said quesadilla with carne asada so can I get that". He took the plate back to the kitchen and argued with the women in the kitchen. He then brings the plate back out and says "you said chicken for the quesadilla. You said carne asada for the burrito". Needless to say they wouldn't make me a new quesadilla so I had to get my money back. I've been going here since high school and I love this place but I'm not supporting this place after this. I don't know what was so hard about making a quesadilla, they were gonna lose the money anyway. read more
