The food here is decent,not bad not great. I liked the super nachos, there was plenty of toppings to go with the chips. Even enough toppings that I had to finish the remaining ingredients with a fork. I also got a beef and chicken chimchanga which I forgot to take a picture of. The chimchanga was decent as well. This place use to be good but has gone down in service. Ordered enchilada combo plate. Beans seemed burnt and food had no flavor. Got a michelada and it did not taste good. This is our go to place when we are running back and forth through Modesto. Always consistant service, the staff is beyond friendly and helpful. We stopped in for an early lunch and I decided on the chili verde platter. It came with rice, beans, lettuce, pico and your choice of corn or flour tortillas. I chose corn tortillas. The pork was tender, the green sauce had a little kick, The rice and beans and good flavor. My husband had a carne asada super burrito, he enjoyed it. The red and green salsa were great, we got chips with our order. You order at the counter then they bring your food out to you. When our food was delivered, she offered more chips. Big servings, I brought half my plate home. Many options on their menu. They did have pepsi products on fountain, bottled coke and jarritos and a selection of canned soda. They also had the bagged cookies next to the register, I think 3 or 4 different types of cookies, I got the chocolate chip, SO GOOD! Had some food catered for a party and it was excellent. Placing the order was easy and effortless and all my special requests and accommodations were executed perfectly. Reasonably priced, and great portions for the price as well. The food was delicious, freshly prepared and we had no complaints only questions of where we got the food from. So I asked the girl for the Breakfast Burrito. Then Five guys walked in After me to Order. Talking in Spanish to the Cook. So see I'm a lite Skin Mexican Man. So I walked to my table and waited for my Burrito. Mind you it's 957 am. When I Ordered. So ten minutes later I go up and ask what's taking so long to make the Burrito. It's only beans eggs and Ham. And I Notice the cook making the food for the five guys that came in after me. And ask again what's taking so Long. So the cook finally starts the burrito in less than Three minutes it was done. It's 1015 am. Almost half an hour. To make a 3-4 minute burrito. So when the cook gave the girl the food. He was Giving me Dirty Looks. So he thought I didn't Speak Spanish. Disappointed. I didn't feel like driving far so I just walked over after visiting the pharmacy. Spent $25 on super nachos and two beers. Carnitas was the recommendation from the nice waitstaff behind the counter. It was very dry and crispy (almost powder like), over salted, and had no flavor. Guacamole had no avocado in it. Beans had no flavor. Cheese cooled to a plastic consistency. Ambiance is a cacophony of loud music and all of the TV's have their volume up as well, so you can't focus on anything. It's a sensory nightmare. The decor needs some love. It's clean and the waitstaff was friendly, so 1 star each. Nothing else to be proud of here. Won't be back for a long time. read more

This restaurant is so disappointing. The service and food is terrible. I have been there four or five times and noticed that it is consistently mediocre. They have shorted us twice on our to go orders. One time the cheese enchiladas had burnt cheese that was thick and rubbery. Carnitas. They have such a strong hold on me. It's hard for me to order anything else. So when I hear that a certain joint happens to make great carnitas, they get my attention. And if it turns out to be true, they keep it. The carnitas here are tender, juicy, & appropriately crisp. And they're loaded w flavor. The best word to describe them? Succulent. I've never eaten inside, since I always order to go. The aroma they fill the car with is full on intoxicating. My mouth waters. This is a no-frills taqueria. And it's a lot bigger than your average taqueria. Big tables, bad lighting, zero aesthetic. Your basic & typical taqueria attire. But that's fine. They've got good salsas, especially the green salsa. And they've got great carnitas tacos. The portions are generous too. I always need to empty out about half of my tacos before I can effectively pick them up to eat. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because the last couple of times there were a couple of very fatty pieces; pieces that shouldn't have made the cut into the tacos & should have been thrown out instead. Not sure what happened to this place but it used to be good. The last time I went I was a little disappointed.. but today we decided to give it another chance. I ordered asada nachos , 2 asada tacos plain , 2 asada everything 1 al pastor . 1 agua Jamaica and 1 Orange Juice. The agua and Orange Juice were the best things we had. This place used to be really good. Its now basically a waste of money. Taco Bell is better than this place now. Not only are the employees unfriendly and unprofessional, they don't take accountability for their mistakes. They have messed up our order 3 times in a row. Today we ordered 3 burritos to go and they messed up all of them. They were all mismarked and we had to open every burrito to try to figure out which meat was what. So i ended up with the "mystery meat" or should i say mystery Fat pieces. At minimum this is the poorest quality meat I've ever seen...at best it was total neglect by the cook by what he put in the food. I will not be returning here ever again. It's been a few years since I've last been. But a found myself back in the area and thought I'd pay y'all a visit. Once again you did not disappoint. Made to order, Fresh, Fast, Legit. Ordered 3 Super Chile Verde, Carne Asada, Chicken Quesadilla. All were Great. Great Flavor, Good Heat, all the Bells and Whistles. Stuffed into a Mexican meal Coma we were. The salsa bar was Fresh and Fully stocked and not all tore up and It was the lunch hour. You guys were busy. But were hustling large orders out quickly. Still ranks in my Top Five Best Taqueria's. Came in here randomly on a whim -- I had recently heard that Modesto's MEXICAN food is infinitely better than the bay's (...oh really?) so I decided to venture into this humble little taqueria Monday night. The establishment is a typical "taqueria" -- perhaps slightly bigger than the ones I'm accustomed to in the bay. There was a group of Hispanic gentleman in the middle of the restaurant, waiting for their food. Other than this group, the restaurant was virtually empty. I was slightly nervous because I did not know how I would be received (little Asian girl that I am) but the wait staff was completely accommodating. I must have looked REALLY scared because the woman behind the counter even proceeded to explain to me what pico de gallo is L O L. I ordered a wet burrito w/ steak and red sauce. Chips come with the meal (not all you can eat) and they have a little salsa bar located directly next to the register. The burrito was......absolutely, stunningly DELICIOUS. DEFINITELY better than MOST places I've eaten wet burritos, with the exception of San Francisco. The steak was moist, juicy PERFECTION (and there was a LOT of it) and coupled with the beans, rice, and cheese -- mmmm...delicious is an UNDERSTATEMENT, BRAVO MODESTO!!! I still can't seem to get a decent massage, but at least I'll always be stuffed with DELECTABLY, DELICIOUS MEXICAN WET BURRITOS -- and thus, as far as I'm concerned, I've still come out WINNING. ;) read more

Carolinas... I have so many pleasant things to say about this Authentic Taqueria. Starting from the ladies taking the orders. They are the sweetest ladies, working very fast, professionally, and person-ably to get the busy lines down with a smile on their faces. I discovered the place about 6 years ago now. The ambiance is very chill, as most taquerias. The food is reasonably priced. My favorite dish would be the fish and Shrimp tacos. All the salsas are made fresh daily, major brownie points in my book. If your vegetarian, pescatarian, or vegan not to worry they will work with you! read more
