Heard this place was amazing. It's not. It's ok but far from amazing. Sure the portions are huge but you pay for that. I got the #8( eggs, chorizobacon,cheese) with beans. Had to wait because they were out of chorizo eggs. The bacon was not great it was hard and tough. The chorizo was not greasy at all(that's not good). I really could not taste it. The rest was just bland in general. The green sauce was spicy. It's like a verde salsa. It was the best thing about this place. The red was ok but too tomatoey. The set up inside was chaotic and disorganized. Hardly any drink selection. Staff was friendly. Over all it was not terrible but it fell way short of it's reputation read more

I found this place like 13 years ago on our way to a girl's camp from our church district and it's been a favorite but unfortunately don't drive this way often or it's closed already after my son's soccer tournaments in Austin. So it's been a few years of craving this tacos. We tried the menudo for the first time and it's delicious. We stopped on a Saturday around 10 am and waited in line about 40 minutes, this place is popular now so expect lines. Definitely recommend this place. read more

The line here is RIDICULOUS. Some family and I came here for breakfast tacos which were recommended by a local- one of us waited in line and the rest of us went to good ole faithful Buccees. When we came back my cousin was still in line, which was now longer and almost out the door. That is crazy. The fact there's no distinction or option for a line for those dining in or getting food to go is inconsiderate. Not to mention that ONE taco is almost $6, and it comes with NO-THING. Love the burritos been here a couple of times , unfortunately my last visit was horrible service , after ordering My food I had to use the ladys room I walk to the restroom saw there was a closed sing on the door . Hands down the best menudo ever. Their tacos are huge and the tortillas (both flour and corn) are made fresh. If you're driving through Giddings, you should make the stop. It's counter service and the line might be long, but it goes pretty fast. It's worth it, trust me. read more

I stopped through here every time I can if it's in the morning on the way to or from Houston. I am a semi regular that way. Everything here is freshly made all the way down to tortillas, beans, and rice. Eggs, bacon, fajitas, anything else you want. They have it. The only reason for four stars is their portions are slightly smaller, and their prices are higher because of inflation. That's not their fault, and to be fair,portions are now normal sized instead of oversized. Very very overrated spot in giddings. Tacos are big but they are not that good. I really like my tacos cooked with ingredients semi mixed together and this is just a build you own taco. There are much Better taco places in town for sure! read more

Absolutely the best taco that I've waited in line for approximately 20min for... after a 15 commute. Totally worth it. One taco is the size of a babies forearm. Six tables inside and some on patio. I drove to Giddings from Houston just to have a taco here. They are that tasty. Everything is home made, with care, love, and quality ingredients. The tacos are huge, and all the fillings are all delicious! You can get beans on your taco for no charge, but pay extra for cheese, potatoes, or pico de gallo. the 3 salsas are tasty and unique. THE BEST BURRITO IN TEXAS! Mic dropped.... This place is unbelievable and honestly selfishly I don't want anymore people to know about it! As the line can be out the door! However, I would never want this gem and the people that are part of it not to be recognized for their unbelievable efforts!! So come one come all!!!! The people here are really nice. The guy that runs the spot seems like a pretty nice guy. A man I have to say I was a little let down. The food was all right. Living in Houston Texas were very Spoto some of the best tacos in the nation. So whenever I hear of a new taco spot I like to try it out. We tried some of their breakfast tacos and some of their meat tacos and I just have to make sure they were OK. I think the breakfast tacos are probably the better of the bunch. Something is going on with their tortillas with a very dry and they have like the residue left from the baking powder or something I can't explain it. The carne guisada was very tough and not tender at all. That was the biggest let down. The sausage and egg breakfast tacos are pretty decent. And let me tell you they should forewarn you and tell you that there are $2.49 tacos actually a burrito. One of these could easily fill you up. I didn't know that and we got three each. While visiting friends in Austin, we decided to make the hour+ drive to Giddings, TX to visit their FAVORITE taqueria for breakfast tacos! Yeah. We did that. I ordered a fajita taco (added pico & avocado for a charge), a barbacoa taco- no add ons, just the way it comes with onion & cilantro & finally a bacon, egg, cheese & potato taco. Great tacos on home made flour tortillas. They are huge compared to what get in Austin and very good. Be prepared to stand in a long line, maybe 20 people at times, even as early as 6:30 am. I drive 15 miles from my ranch once a week to eat their tacos. The orange salsa is excellent. Give it a try. It is my favorite. I'd rank these guys up there with Taco Deli or Torchy's. read more

Always a great place for breakfast. The food is fresh and always delicious. 15-20 items to chose from, makes for a custom built taco every single time I visit. Home made tortillas I can only dream about since I am gluten free. But they will do a bowl, so I am good. You cannot go wrong with the fresh squeezed OJ! by the way, very nice and clean bathroom facilities. PLUS The establishment is unashamedly Christian! These guys nail the breakfast taco every tyme. I had the barbacoa and the carne guisada tacos. The service was Okk. We had about 12 orders in front of us at it took about 20-25mns to get our 5 tacos. Tried twice. Once for lunch and the other for breakfast. The tortillas are thick and butter flavored. They are large too. Its a steam table set up. The meats are not very seasoned however they are well marinated. The chorizo and barbacoa lack flavor. The tacos are large but they are also expensive. I will stick to taco trucks. read more

This place is amazing definitely worth making a trip to work including it on your road trip. Everything was fresh and delicious even the tortillas. The ladies were very friendly authentic Mexican food. I really wanted to try the menudo.. next time foe sure.. One breakfast taco is plenty it was more like a breakfast burrito amazing you can add anything you want. I had that chorizo egg cheese bean rice avocado and pico de gallo they make it with fresh jalapeños so it was spicy and delicious .. three kinds of homemade salsa to choose from hot hot hotter and greens Verde sauce.. If you're in a hurry, don't stop here. You will wait at least 30 minutes. However, TOTALLY WORTH THE WAIT!!! Every menu item here is excellent. Tortillas are made fresh as well as all the fillings. Just as they are made they are running out. THAT'S JUST HOW GOOD THIS FOOD IS!!! The staff is friendly and very efficient. Make the time to stop by and enjoy this amazing food. Hruska's is about halfway between Houston and Austin and a perfect rest stop to fill up on gas, use the clean facilities, grab a snack or indulge in their amazing baked goods. They are steeped in history and have been around for decades passing along the family recipes. It's obviously improved structurally over the years from a country store and looks like a modern gas station now. It's always pretty busy every time I have stopped in, but they are a well oiled machine and keep the masses moving with excellent customer service. They have all your gas station essentials like snacks and beverages. What sets them apart is their bakery. Here, they label their kolaches as the traditional fruit filled variety. I like them, but they are never my first choice. I love the ones with meat inside. Here, they label these as pigs in a blanket. They have a large variety of both. I usually go for a regular sausage and cheese, but over here, they sell a delicious pan sausage kind. On top of all their sweet and savory baked goods, they also sell burgers on the grill. Their burgers have made it to the Texas Monthly Top 50 burger spots. I have yet to try it. Overall, this is an always stop place for me. I highly recommend stopping here to stretch your legs and enjoy a delicious pastry while you're at it. I will definitely be back.

Not only is the house beautiful, the interior of the house is warm and inviting. Our room was spacious and relaxing. Our bed was so comfortable, it was hard to get out of bed. (In a very good way). The house has a great backyard, with plenty of mature pecan trees that provides plenty of shade so you can sit outside and relax. The property has beautiful landscaping, and really helps you decompress. Danni and Mark manage the B&B, and they live on site. Danni is very friendly and she goes out of her way to make sure everyone is is having a great experience. Danni creates some of the best breakfasts that we have ever had, and her creations could be on any fine dining menu. We met Jeannie, the owner, and she was very nice. We also met some great guests, and one couple lives near us. We really connected and we will be going to lunch with them in two weeks. We will definitely go back and visit on our next trip to Georgetown.

We have gone to the Burton cafe two versions, the German version that followed and the last five years, Blue Willow. Only open on Friday Saturday Sunday, but fun and great food.
