A beautiful, warm and cozy house/B&B! The Inn Keepers are wonderful - so knowledgeable about the history of the house and the area. They were very accommodating and caring with special food needs. Went above and beyond to serve breakfast items my husband could eat. Even sent us home with items they wouldn't eat. So thoughtful! Our room in the carriage house was so spacious. What an incredible B&B. We stayed for three nights and we had a great experience. The San Gabriel House is located in the Olive Street National Historic District of Georgetown, TX. Not only is the house beautiful, the interior of the house is warm and inviting. Our room was spacious and relaxing. Our bed was so comfortable, it was hard to get out of bed. (In a very good way). The house has a great backyard, with plenty of mature pecan trees that provides plenty of shade so you can sit outside and relax. The property has beautiful landscaping, and really helps you decompress. Danni and Mark manage the B&B, and they live on site. Danni is very friendly and she goes out of her way to make sure everyone is is having a great experience. Danni creates some of the best breakfasts that we have ever had, and her creations could be on any fine dining menu. We met Jeannie, the owner, and she was very nice. We also met some great guests, and one couple lives near us. We really connected and we will be going to lunch with them in two weeks. We will definitely go back and visit on our next trip to Georgetown. read more

My family stayed here in early August 2023. The house is lovely and the other tenants were very nice. The breakfasts were fancy and tasty. The only negative was that the room we had was about 100 degree throughout our stay. We paid for this room as a premium room$$$$$. We almost left to stay elsewhere. When we told the owner, she was dismissive. We hardly slept because of the heat. Not a minor issue. Again, everything was lively but our room was UNBEARABLE and the staff was apathetic. This is one of my favorites B&B's. We love the charm of the house and huge porches. The inn keepers provide a lot of amenities, like access to a Fridge upstairs stocked with sodas and water plus a great selection of coffees and tea. The beds are so comfortable and breakfast was delicious. Such a great location close to Georgetown square and across from the beautiful Southwestern University. Wish we could have stayed longer than a brief overnight. This historic home is very beautiful. Danni, the innkeeper, is happy to give a brief history lesson alongside checkin. The room was wonderfully comfortable (yes, the bed, too) and I slept like a baby. Everything was clean! Having dietary restrictions can prove to be a challenge while traveling, however, Danni created a scrumptious breakfast fit for royalty including homemade GF blueberry scones. Yum! Our son's wedding and dinner were held here, and we could not have been more pleased at how beautifully Danni and Jeannie handled everything. They had to set up for the ceremony indoors due to dreadful weather, then quickly switch that out for the dinner, and all was accomplished smoothly and unobtrusively with guests underfoot--but they never made anyone feel that way. The house is gorgeous, as are the grounds, and they provided us the perfect backdrop for a joyous celebration of love. Calling this a B&B is a little modest, I think! At least, when I heard the name I wasn't prepared for the luxurious rooms, or the almost stately atmosphere of the place. This century old building has been done up very tastefully (not exactly MY taste, per se, but nicely done). When I was shown around, I felt like I was viewing a museum! The garden behind is lovely for small gatherings, sitting outside for brunch etc. The couple running the B&B cooked up some lovely food too. If you can - try the homemade cranberry-raspberry juice! One oddity - if you have a baby, you need to book the whole B&B (4 rooms), as they are not willing to impose baby noise on other guests. read more

We stayed at San Gabriel House B & B for our Georgetown wedding and hosted our rehearsal there and were completely charmed by it! We stayed in the carriage house for one night, and the night before the wedding the groom stayed elsewhere while I my bridesmaids, family, and I all stayed in the B & B. It was absolutely perfect for our wedding party...the rooms are huge and lovely and the innkeepers were just so helpful and nice. Everyone who stayed there with us had only good things to say about it as well. The upstairs library was the perfect spot for hair and makeup and we took our photos in front of the house the morning of the wedding. It was perfect. We also hosted our rehearsal dinner there, which was one of the best decision we could have made! We hired a food truck to set up in the driveway and guests could dine on the porch or in the house. Dee & Neil went above and beyond to make sure it was a great event and it paid off -- we were so relaxed and happy leading up to the wedding. We stayed here for our 20th wedding anniversary. The place is beautiful and the folks that own it are very sweet people. Do not expect a "corporate hotel" experience- they are very mom and pop- I personally prefer it that way. The rooms all share a single common room, and I can definitely see renting it out for a family reunion. The breakfast was delicious! The only negative feedback I have is the coffee in the main room had very tea-like qualities... but the stay was so good, I didn't really care! The late check-out time is great- but we stayed there right before a big wedding so we had to take off a bit early (Happy Wedding, Rachel!). They were so nice to us and so wonderful! :) read more

From the moment you pull into the driveway, you are instantly met with an atmosphere of comfort. The house is well maintained to the point where you feel as though the pasts americana is today. The entire space is entirely comfortable from the moment you are met by the foyer. You are always in a good place, warm or cool, in this house. So frustrated by the management right now. Planning on having a wedding there in 10 days. All of a sudden we are getting hit with all sorts of charges that were not discussed or included in the contract or invoice 7 months ago. Now we are almost a week away. And they want more money than we were contracted for. Knowing we can't change the venue this close to the event. They have now clue how to put on an event. Possibly some of the worst customer service I have ever had the displeasure of encountering. I sent a email in mid-August, asking for details about a certain room. I am getting married in the area and wanted to spend the night before the wedding with my maid of honor. We planned on relaxing before the big day and having a breakfast the following morning. As soon as the owners heard that I was getting married, they wanted nothing to do with me. I don't know what the hell they were expecting, I certainly didn't ask if they could accommodate a bachelorette party! I find it hilarious now, after reading their own description of their B&B here on Yelp, that they are apparently great for weddings and small receptions. HA! Mention the word "wedding" and see how far that gets you... I was given a rude reply, stating that I should ask my ceremony venue if THEY had somewhere that I could stay. Really? OBVIOUSLY not! They told me if I was interested in a room, that I should call them and give them some basic info. After that, I never heard from them again. My fiance and I both called and left voicemails, none of which were ever returned. It wasn't until my mom emailed them - 3 weeks later, that we knew the owners were even alive. They replied to her email within 24 hours and assured her that they would be calling me. They did not. I called them once more to see if by chance this was all a mistake - they never called back. Screw them. We found a much nicer room elsewhere. read more

I stayed night for a business trip. After problem here ischecking out i noticed the next day they charged me $253 on top of tree one night stay. I called and they told me it was charged for a cleaning fee because they smelled smoke. Problem here is i have never smoked anything in my life. They told me they didn't have physical proof but they weren't budging on the charge. Terrible customer service and just another way for them to profit. read more

I absolutely love this place. I went here with my best friend for a girls trip for my birthday and we had the best time. We stayed in the French room and just adored it. The owners were so welcoming and accommodating to our schedules. They asked us what time we would like breakfast ready and we awoke to coffee and tea awaiting us in the common room. Then in the dining room they treated us to the most delicious breakfast of quiche and grapefruit. They were also sensitive to my friend's dietary needs. The home is just gorgeous. I couldn't have had a better experience. I will definitely be staying here again!! read more

We went to the San Gabriel House B & B for a wedding reception. Apparently they aren't equipped for large groups over 40. Nor are they equipped for anything outside. The appetizers consisted of chips and salsa. The chips had flies landing on them. Ugh. Where some guests were seated outside on the porch, there was absolutely zero air circulation and it was humid & stifling hot. No portable fans or ceiling fans anywhere. If you are going to host a group large enough to have to seat them outside, then PLEASE, have fans circulating the air or just don't host any event outside. There were some very nice ladies who came by to pick up our plates. Inside, though, the serving line was not well organized. After you got your plate of food, you then had to break through the food line to get to the drinks. Once again, they are not equipped to handle more than 40 guests. And I did not notice any handicapped accessiblity entry to the house. One guest was in a wheelchair & another in a walker. Both had to have their food brought out to them on the porch. The house itself looked charming & am sure was a wonderful place to stay. read more
