    Not so good green salsa
    Stephanie G.

Came by to try their burritos here. It's a really big burrito. $10.00 burrito and a $1 charge to use debit card. I almost finished it but not quite all the way. It tastes okay but not my favorite. The salsa was not so good either.

Sad torta, meat & melted monterrey jack cheese on Ciabatta bread- WTF.
    Terry G.

I'm not sure why people are giving high reviews on this place, maybe they're not familiar with real Mexican food. I ordered an asada burrito that came with a small portion of flavorless meat, alot of canned refried beans, little bit of rice & a light sprinkle of cebolla & cilantro- bland burrito. My hubby got a torta de al pastor that was a simple ciabatta bread with meat & melted jack cheese & NOTHING ELSE. A torta is NOT ONLY MEAT, cheese & CIABATTA bread. A basic torta is supposed to be made with telera bread or bolillo, have avocado, queso fresco, salsa & lettuce. This place is pricey & not worth it. Waste of money & time.

I was craving some carne asada and well this little place had some good reviews so we decided to check it out.. this is a small location located in a shopping center.. The cook took our order and was really nice.. I wanted tacos but decided on a carne asada burrito let me tell you this thing was huge!! The burrito was good and the 2 salsas they gave me on the side were good.. if you like little hole in the wall places with good food then this is right up your alley..

Was invited by the owner to try their food , I took him up in his offer and was very surprised to how good the tacos are . Great flavor , great portions , and fantastic family business. Come support !

One more joint that I had not dined at previously. I ordered Chicken Taco Asada Taco Pastor Taco Free Chicken Taco with checkin Chicken Torta. Total with tax came to $10.90 Pros: Mom and Pop shop. Cons: Meat was not good at all. Steak was downright inedible. (-1) Expensive for the taco portion. (-1)

    White Menudo
    Alex M.

White menudo with no hominy and hardly any meat. I waited for 20 min and was the only customer in the store. Menudo is bland and was boiling hot while all the staff were just standing around laughing. I'll never come back here, this was a waste of money and also disgusting, had to cover it up with lime and tapatio

Asked for a Asada burrito.. looks like it's pure rice and beans.. definitely not going there anymore

Al pastor torta. Tender meat, crispy ciabatta.
    Mari M.

I barely see taco places with the spit fire grill so I had to try it. I ordered the al pastor torta. The meat is delicious on its own, but the limey green sauce truly is a total game changer. My friend tried the shrimp and pastor tacos, and agreed this taqueria's strength is definitely al pastor. So in case I wasn't clear, Al pastor + guac sauce + onion + cilantro = flavor packed/why didn't I find this place sooner/just do it.

I kept calm: but I got my torta on!
    Marc L.

I have had, lunch and dinner here multiple times. The green sauce is epic. The people were extremely friendly. The food! I love their al pastor tortas. The tortas are the most authentic I have ever had!

Pizza & tacos? Maybe not but when you see a "trompo al pastor" you stop. I only tried the tacos so my review is based on that. Good authentic al pastor, super soft and tender lengua. Excellent service and good prices. The only problem is that you need like 20 tacos to get full so my suggestion is either lower your price to $1 tacos or load up more on the meat and double down on the tortillas.

I blame the munchies for choosing this place. You either have good pizza or good tacos, seldom both. Gina's pizza and tacos is right by Grandma Lopiccolo's in Whittier, CA. My husband and I needed something to hold us over for three hours of gin rummy and go fish and Grandma's stale white bread and salami would not make the cut. My husband saw the sign "pizza and tacos" and flipped a U. I was skeptical about the name but we decided to give it a try. Inside, the place is quaint and seats about 20. The walls are painted that shade of red that stimulates hunger and cutely decorated with little signs about tacos and one encouraging guests to "like us on Yelp." Two of the menus were dedicated to Mexican food and one for pizza. I wanted a burrito. Being the pizza freak that he is, my husband ordered a cheese pizza for us to split. While we were waiting, I checked in on yelp and got a free taco. That, was absolutely delicious. The pizza however was not. The cheese was rubbery and we couldn't eat another slice. At this point we hadn't paid and were wondering if we could get tacos instead. The owner and the cook took it very offensively and told us that in the whole 30, no 60, no 30 years the restaurant had been open, nobody has ever complained about the pizza. Shame on us. At this point the owner told us "no pay" and we left. On behalf of my husband and I, we apologize for the offense. The taco was delicious.

Hanging with owner, Oscar Sanchez. He's super friendly

(See attached picture). This restaurant is in such an obscure location, I can't believe I was going to a Burrito Track across the street for so many years not knowing this place existed. Friendly staff and prompt service. The unfortunate negative is it's location and I'm referring to parking. There must be 8 business crammed into this lot. With a bar to the right and a laudermat on its left finding a parking spot is like winning the lotto. Now layer in one driveway and you have to make a 3 point turn just to navigate to leave. The short answer is I will absolutely go back to this place as long as there is a parking space to be had.

Well I received the flautas (which were very tasty) but they were BALD. There was about one tablespoon worth of guacamole on the side. And a tiny little pinch of lettuce. I immediately asked the waitress if it was missing the toppings, and she said "yes it's missing sour cream." She left and came back and said there was no more sour cream. A Mexican restaurant without sour cream? Oh! really wish I would've known that before ordering because, like I said, I love my flautas drenched in toppings. I would've ordered something else had I known there was no sour cream. I requested some extra guacamole to make up for the lack of sour cream. With guacamole and the salsa that comes with chips, it still tasted pretty good but my heart was wishing I had sour cream and tons of cheese. It was definitely a tasty meal but was a HUGE miss on the lack of toppings, which is what I crave when I order flautas. I've never seen flautas look so sad and lonely. The rice and beans were okay. Not too bad not too good. Just ok. It's a shame the restaurant is super beautiful but the food doesn't really seem authentic.

I went on a taco run yesterday to try to find the best taco in Whittier…read more Started off the run with a keto taco mixed with asada and al pastor and then a regular tripa taco. Keto taco - toasted/grilled cheese instead of a regular tortilla - needed to be done a little more on one side as the cheese wasn't quite toasty enough to stay in place to slightly resemble the shape of a taco. Bit hard to eat, covered my hands in grease. Asada tastes almost boiled, and this being my 2nd or 3rd time getting the Asada here, it consistently tastes like it was boiled and not grilled. Unsure of meat quality or preparation, but there are no grill marks and it's a bit chewy. Same with the al pastor. Tripa taco was bizarre. Strips of flat skin instead of the usual roundish, cylindrical shape of tripa (intestine). Usually a saltier, fattier meat than asada, which is my preference but the one here was lacking in flavor and the texture threw me off a bit. Tripa can be chewy - unless requested extra done, which is how I normally order it - but there was no saving this tripa. I think it needs to be sliced differently, the cuts made it inedible. Brother shared some of his chorizo taco and it was the better of the bunch. Red chorizo, TJ style, although it was also lacking a teeny bit in flavor... onions and cilantro to the rescue! Still, mediocre. Salsas were ok, nothing out of the ordinary. Don't think the tortillas were homemade. Service was fine, cashier takes your order, dude at the counter was chill and had a friendly attitude. Seating was limited. Mostly bar style seating but the majority was in front of a window and it had so much heat trapped from the glass that it was kind of uncomfortable. Other seats are too close to the bathroom. Good for a quick bite or just pick-up orders. Wouldn't plan a sit down/dine-in visit. Parking is scarce and has really small spots, wouldn't come if you're driving a pick-up truck or anything like that. Food was reasonably priced, which is good, however; the food was lacking so I would not return.
